Tell a Better Story Podcast: Christian Women's Bible Study
by Lanna Andersen
Bible stories for grown-ups!I do something a little bit different than the traditional bible study methods where you take a text and you break it down looking for truth. Instead, I pull in culture, history, literary elements and other things like that to help what can often seem black and white, flat, and kinda boring, BURST into full color!I want us to go beyond learning truths about God from the Bible. I want us to spend time with God in His word, to experience His story, live His story, and then we get to go tell the world a better story. Welcome, my name is Lanna (like 'banana') and this is the Tell a Better Story podcast!

Ep. 6: The Angsty Middle (or How to Get Your Prayers Answered)
Ever feel caught between believing in God’s promises and the pain of real life? That’s what I call “the angsty middle.” In this episode, we explore Romans 8 and how to live—and pray—in that tension.I share a personal story, unpack what it means to be a “new creation” in a broken world, and give practical tips on how to intercede for others like Jesus did.Whether you’re confused about prayer or carrying someone else’s burden, this one's for you.Recommended Study & Resources: 📖 Abraham, Moses, Daniel, Nehemiah, Jesus, Paul (intercessors in Scripture) 📚 The Ministry of Intercession & With Christ in the School of Prayer by Andrew Murray 📚 God’s Smuggler by Brother AndrewIf you enjoy this episode, make sure to subscribe and share it with a friend!Follow me on IG: @happy.hopeful.booksSend me an email: [email protected]

Ep. 5: Naomi’s Story: Rock Bottom to Redemption
In today’s episode, we dive into the story of Naomi—a woman often overshadowed by Ruth but whose journey from rock-bottom to redemption is one of the most profound illustrations of God’s kindness. This isn’t a "moral of the story" kind of message. Instead, we walk through the plot like a novel—complete with inciting incidents, twists, and a stunning epilogue—showing how God’s kindness leads to repentance and unexpected legacy.🎧 Listen in as we explore how even in the darkest chapters, God is writing a story of redemption, provision, and legacy.I’d love to hear from you:IG: @happy.hopeful.booksEmail: [email protected] my book, click HEREFor my book on audio, click HERE

Ep. 4: The One Neglected Habit that Brought Down a Nation (2 Kings 17)
In this episode, we’re looking at the rise and cataclysmic fall of the Northern Kingdom of Israel. All because they neglected one simple daily habit. God’s people got lax in this one thing, and the kingdom was wiped out and the people were taken into exile. On the flip side, doing this one simple thing every day will change your life. I know - because it changed mine. This isn’t some far-removed ancient history. It’s still relevant to us today.(And if you’re not up to speed on the OT historical timeline, no worries! I’ll get you caught up.)If you’re enjoying TABS, I’d love it if you would leave a review and share this episode with a friend so this ministry can continue to grow. Ep. 3: How to Handle Your Critics Like a Boss (Nehemiah 2-4)
Nehemiah was an absolute boss! He faced tremendous opposition in various forms when he set about rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile. But you know what? Despite the pushback, he NEVER quit building. Sword in one hand, tool in the other. We absolutely should hold the line where Scripture does, but it’s not enough to defend. We must also build. This is the same mission Jesus left us with when he returned to the Father - build for the Kingdom! And Nehemiah is going to show us how. HERE is a link to my book. *Thanks so much for listening! Quick favor to ask: If you enjoy this episode, please text it to one friend who also needs some life-changing Bible reading encouragement. They’ll thank you!*You don’t need more methods showing you how to dissect a Bible passage like a frog in high school biology class. They will transform your time in the Word!Episode highlights:What role the different parts of our brain (left/right) play in Bible reading. How you hear God’s voice without relying on pre-written devotionals or Bible studies (not that they’re always bad!).How can you quiet your mind so your Bible reading doesn’t go in one ear and out the other. How you can grow your capacity to pick up little nuances in the Bible and discover countless things you've missed in the past.IG: @happy.hopeful.books
