Damein is a husband, father & grandfather. He is working on his doctorate and pastors a church in Springfield, TX. He is passionate about inspiring seasoned believers to share their real testimony and allowing their mess to become their message. Damein grew up Jehovah’s Witness and had to really face his faith in county jail when thinking about the end times. His story reveals God’s glory and redemption. Chris and Katie are the first couple to share their story on the pod! They talk about Chris’ health journey that has had lasting effects on his body and their family. We talk about marriage, faithfulness and the theology of suffering. Chris is passionate about communicating that God is easy to talk to & always there for us. God wants to hear what we have to say and we can talk to Him, just like we can talk to a friend. God is big enough to handle our questions. He reiterates that walking in community is the only way. We need people to hold us up and point us toward Christ. We need to invest in those around us and can’t do this walk alone.

Kylie is relatable and hilarious. Shes a mom, nurse, disciple-maker and wife to a pastor. She encourages us to embrace our season & work hard while we’re in it. Make it count! We talk about discipleship and how those relationships have been pivotal for her. What’s the difference between mentorship and discipleship? How do I start a discipleship relationship? Mary Garcia Correa is absolutely incredible. Her story includes loss, drugs, addiction, prison, cancer, and survivorship. She is a mother to many & a grandmother. Meth is a part of her story, but no longer has a stronghold over her! She so bravely and so free of shame shares her story of victory with us. To flee from temptation, she encourages us to be honest with ourselves & others at the gut level, where confession can heal and *being known by our people* is what is going to save us from drowning.
