Growing up, Eric spent countless nights sneaking into cemeteries and abandoned buildings with friends, hoping they might see a ghost. At first, it was just something fun to do, until he actually started witnessing strange things. Years later, working overnight shifts in the Alzheimer’s wing of a nursing home brought even more experiences he couldn’t explain. The paranormal slowly grew into a much bigger part of his life, leading him into paranormal investigations and buying a historic haunted house of his own. While out hunting in Dansville, Michigan, Josh finds the perfect spot to settle in and wait for deer. In this episode, we hear the stories of two women who share a very specific experience - the feeling of knowing someone before they had any logical way of knowing them. First, we hear Brooke’s story. As a kid, Brooke received a Ouija board as a gift, and during her first and only session with it, it spelled out a full name that she didn’t really think much of at the time. But years later, while digging into her family history, she found that same name again, and discovered their connection ran much deeper than she expected. Then, we’ll hear Emily’s story. Last year, Emily had to have major surgery. While she was coming out of anesthesia, still in that in-between state before she was conscious, she felt a loving presence and saw the face of a person she somehow recognized. She even knew their name, despite having no memory of ever meeting this person. And when she fully came to, she was stunned to find that same person standing in the room with her. James and a friend were walking through the woods near their home in Thundersley, Essex, when they encountered a strange child in tattered Victorian clothing, peering at them from behind a tree. Mitaya grew up on a vast stretch of land in Jasper, Georgia, at the base of the Appalachian Mountains. During her fall break from school, she broke her arm, leaving her with little to do but spend long stretches of time alone outside. Over the course of that week, she began noticing strange phenomena in the sky. On the final night of her break, she was woken up by two bright lights outside her bedroom window. Two women. Two road trips. Two unexplainable detours. This week we hear Maria’s story and Michele’s story - their stories are very similar in some ways, but take wildly different turns. First, we hear Maria’s story. In 2007, she and her four siblings were driving home to Georgia after their uncle’s funeral in Florida. They stopped at a gas station just past Tifton, Georgia to use the restroom, but something felt off. Their unease quickly turned into fear, and they rushed back to the car. Fifteen minutes down the road, they found themselves impossibly right back where they started. Next is Michele’s story. In 1986, she and 2 friends were making the drive back to Long Island after a trip to SUNY University in Cortland, Upstate New York. While driving the highway lined with nothing but apple orchards, their car got a flat tire. They expected a long walk back to the last exit, but instead, they stumbled upon a town they don’t remember passing. The town looks straight out of a Hallmark movie, and the residents are unusually charming and kind. Only later do they realize just how strange and inexplicable the experience truly was. Two women. Alix has a familial gift of seeing ghosts - her grandma’s house was full of them. Her earliest memories involve playing with the 2 ghost children that lived inside grandma’s walls. David Robert Pollock tells us his story. While working as a mailman’s assistant, he’s given a strange pile of mail to deliver to a building in downtown Los Angeles. Upon arrival, he’s taken aback by the elegant ambiance and well-dressed staff and clientele.
