Beauty in Surrender: When Control Isn’t Yours to Hold - Angela's Story
In this episode of Testimony Transformations, Angela shares her powerful journey of walking through deep physical, emotional, and spiritual hardship after a work-related injury forced her to leave the career she had built for over 26 years. What followed was a season marked by pain, identity loss, discouragement, and a battle to find hope — yet it was there in the valley that Jesus met her tenderly and personally. Angela shares how God pursued her heart, restored her identity, and taught her to release perfectionism, control, and self-sufficiency so she could rest in the safety of His love. Through Scripture, worship, Christian community, and surrender, God began to replace despair with peace, exhaustion with rest, and striving with trust. Her testimony is a reminder that: • God is near to the brokenhearted • We are not defined by what we do — but by Whose we are • Surrender is where real healing begins • No story is too fractured for God to restore If you are weary, overwhelmed, or holding your life together in your own strength — this episode is living proof that Jesus meets us in the valley… and grows beauty there. When God Prepares the Heart Before We Know We’ll Need Him: Jennifer's Story
In this powerful episode of Testimony Transformations, Amanda sits down with her friend Jennifer to share a story of faith, surrender, loss, and God’s unwavering presence. Jennifer grew up in church and believed in God, but her faith was more routine than relationship. She knew about Him — but didn’t yet know Him personally. That changed in college when she met someone whose life reflected a peace, joy, and steadiness she couldn’t explain. In a simple, genuine conversation, he asked her, “Have you ever given your life to Jesus?” That question opened her heart, and right there, she surrendered her life to Christ. Her faith came alive. She bought her first Bible, began seeking God, and chose to live for Him fully. Later, she and Sam — now her husband — built a marriage rooted in their shared faith. But their relationship would face a test they never expected. Sam was diagnosed with a brain tumor in a delicate and dangerous location. After seeing multiple surgeons, God led them to the right one — a surgeon whose confidence and compassion gave them peace. Their church community surrounded them in prayer, and God carried them through the surgery and long recovery. Sam survived. Their family was held by grace. Soon after, Jennifer’s father needed heart surgery and moved closer to be near family. What followed was one of the sweetest seasons of Jennifer’s life: weekly dinners, laughter, and meaningful time together — a year she now sees as a gift handcrafted by God. Then, unexpectedly, her father passed away in a car accident. The grief was deep — yet God met her there. In a moment she can only describe as divine, her husband (a firefighter) sensed that someone had gone to Heaven before he knew it was her father. That knowing brought Jennifer a supernatural peace: her father was safely home with Jesus. Looking back, Jennifer can now see how God had prepared her heart: The year of Sunday dinners was a gift of memory. Reading the Bible with her mother drew them closer. Her faith foundation was strengthened before the loss. Community held her. God never left her side. This episode is for anyone who: Knows about God, but hasn’t yet met Him personally. Has tried to carry life in their own strength. Is grieving something they don’t know how to make sense of. Wonders where God is in the pain. Friend — He has been with you the whole time. Closer than your own breath. Pursuing your heart long before you realized it. And through it all, Jennifer clung to Romans 8:28 — “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.” Even in pain, God was working good that she could not yet see. At the end of this episode, Jennifer and Amanda lead a simple prayer to invite Jesus into your life. If you prayed that prayer — hear this: Heaven is celebrating you. “There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” — Luke 15:10 Welcome Home. 🤍 If you just gave your life to Jesus — welcome to the family! God Sets the Lonely in Families: Kathleen' s Story of Hope and Adoption
In this episode of Testimony Transformations, host Amanda Lingle sits down with Kathleen, whose life is a powerful testament to the truth that no story is too broken for God to redeem. Kathleen grew up in Dallas, Texas, where her childhood was marked by deep loss. She lost her father at a young age, and later her mother after a long illness. These painful experiences left Kathleen and her brother grieving, struggling with faith, and searching for answers. As she entered her college years, Kathleen wrestled with God—angry, confused, and unsure of His plan. Yet, it was in this season of brokenness that God began reshaping her faith. Through scriptures like Proverbs 19:21, Kathleen discovered that while her plans may have crumbled, God’s purpose for her life would prevail. The turning point came in 2021, when Kathleen felt a clear call to step into foster care. What began as a step of obedience became her life’s mission—welcoming children into her home, walking through adoption, and finding her purpose in living out James 1:27: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.” Kathleen’s story beautifully illustrates Psalm 68:6: “God sets the lonely in families.” Today, Kathleen’s life reflects God’s redemptive power—transforming grief into grace, brokenness into purpose, and loneliness into family. Her testimony reminds us that when we surrender to God, He can use our pain to fulfill a greater calling. Grace Over Addiction: Charlie’s Story of Surrender and Sobriety
In this moving and raw episode of Testimony Transformations, Charlie shares his powerful journey from silent addiction to spiritual freedom. Raised in a loving home with no history of substance abuse, Charlie’s battle began in middle school, driven by a desire to change how he felt and to fill what he now recognizes as a God-sized void. Behind a smiling, high-achieving exterior was a double life marked by secrecy, self-destruction, and a desperate need for relief. From early experiments to full-blown addiction in high school and college, Charlie’s story reveals the deceptive nature of addiction—the way it hides in plain sight and destroys from the inside out. Despite excelling in academics and athletics, including swimming at SMU, he was spiraling into deeper patterns of substance abuse. His turning point? A night in a hot tub after a music festival, under the influence and recently detained by police. It was there, utterly broken, that Charlie felt a peace he couldn’t explain—what he later recognized as the presence of God. Charlie credits the life-changing 12-step program of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) for first introducing him to a relationship with a Higher Power, and eventually to Jesus Christ. He walks us through the spiritual nature of recovery, highlighting the humility of confession, the gift of surrender, and the healing power of community. Through working the steps, Charlie found freedom—not just from drugs and alcohol, but from shame, fear, and the need to hide. For families walking alongside loved ones in addiction, Charlie offers insight into the hidden nature of this disease and emphasizes the importance of compassionate support, boundaries, and education. He recommends Al-Anon Family Groups, a community offering strength and hope for those affected by someone else’s drinking. 💬 “You don’t have to fix it alone. God already knows. And He’s waiting with open arms.” – Charlie 📖 Scripture References: 2 Corinthians 12:9 - "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Charlie realized that his greatest strength came when he finally admitted his weakness and surrendered to God's will. Psalm 34:18 – "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Even at his lowest, God was not distant—He was present, pursuing, and ready to redeem. 2 Corinthians 5:17 – "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" Today, Charlie lives as a new creation—free, restored, and committed to helping others find that same transformation. Resources to Get Help: If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, you’re not alone—and there is hope. Charlie encourages anyone feeling lost to reach out and take the first brave step toward healing. These resources were instrumental in his recovery: 📘 Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) A 12-step recovery program that offers structure, support, and a spiritual path to freedom from addiction. ➡️ https://www.aa.org 👥 Al-Anon Family Groups A community for friends and family members affected by someone else’s alcoholism—providing encouragement, boundaries, and tools to walk alongside with love and wisdom. ➡️ https://al-anon.org No matter how far gone you feel, God is not done with your story. Charlie’s journey proves that even in our darkest moments, God is moving—restoring what was broken, redeeming what was lost, and writing something new. 🎧 If this episode touched your heart, please follow the podcast, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs a reminder that God is still in the business of transformation. A Marriage Redeemed: How God Transformed My Parent's Hearts and Marriage
In this deeply personal and inspiring episode of Testimony Transformations, I have the honor of sharing my parents’ powerful story of grace, redemption, and transformation. Al and Mary Anne’s journey is a testimony of how God meets us in our most desperate moments and brings beauty from brokenness. When their marriage faced overwhelming challenges, my mom cried out to God, ready to give up. But in that moment, He led her to Malachi 2:16 — "For I hate divorce, says the Lord, the God of Israel." With renewed strength and faith, she chose to trust God to work in their marriage. Through her unwavering belief and persistent prayers, God began a transformation that would change both of their lives. My dad, Al, also experienced the power of God’s redemption—but his transformation began when they were led to a local church where, for the first time, he truly heard and understood the gospel message. As his heart opened to the truth of God’s love and grace, he experienced firsthand the promise of Ezekiel 36:26 — "And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." Their story is a beautiful reflection of how God restores what seems impossible and breathes new life into weary hearts and broken marriages. As you listen, you’ll hear how: ✨ My mom’s prayerful surrender opened the door for God’s intervention. ✨ God led them to a local church where my dad’s heart was opened to the gospel. ✨ They experienced the power of redemption and the restoration of their marriage. No matter where you are today — whether you’re facing struggles in your marriage, feeling distant from God, or holding onto hope for a loved one’s salvation — may this story remind you that God is always in the business of redemption. His grace reaches deeper than our pain, and His love can restore even the most broken places. If this story encouraged you, be sure to subscribe, share it with someone who needs hope, and join us for more stories of grace and transformation. Until next time, remember: no story is too broken for God to redeem. God Bless you Friends

In this deeply moving episode of Testimony Transformations, I sit down with, my sister, Sara to hear her story—one of unexpected joy, devastating loss, and the unwavering presence of Jesus in the midst of grief. Sara and her husband, Cam, were overjoyed to learn they were expecting their first child, a precious baby girl named Brynlee. Clinging to scriptures like Psalm 34:18—“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those who are crushed in spirit”—she discovered that even in her darkest valley, she was never alone. Finding My Worth: A Childhood Shaped by Faith, Struggles, and God’s Love
Welcome to the very first episode of Testimony Transformations! I’m your host, Amanda Lingle, and I believe that no story is too broken for God to redeem. In this episode, I’m taking you back to the beginning—my childhood. Growing up in both Jewish and Southern Baptist traditions, I experienced the beauty of faith but also the deep longing for acceptance. From joyful memories with my family to struggles with self-worth, I’ll share the moments that shaped me—the excitement of performing, the insecurities that crept in, and the first seeds of faith that were planted in my heart. At eight years old, I was baptized, marking the start of my spiritual journey. But what I didn’t realize then was that it was also the beginning of battles with insecurity, loneliness, and the search for identity. If I could go back and sit with my younger self, I’d remind her that her worth isn’t found in applause, approval, or appearance—it’s found in Jesus alone. Psalm 139:13-14 tells us, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Even when we don’t feel seen, Isaiah 43:1 reminds us of God’s truth: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.” If you’ve ever struggled with feeling enough, with longing to be seen and loved, this episode is for you. My prayer is that through my story, you’ll be reminded that nothing can separate you from the love of God (Romans 8:38-39) and that in Christ, you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). No matter where you are in life, God’s grace is greater than your past, and He is always at work to restore and redeem (Joel 2:25). Don’t forget to subscribe, share this podcast with a friend who needs encouragement, and join me next time as we continue this journey of transformation. Remember—you exist to be loved by God (1 John 4:19), and no story is too broken for Him to redeem. Amanda's Recommended Bible Reading Plan: The Bible Recap https://www.thebiblerecap.com/start
