The importance of not only being a light in public or acting holy to “be seen”, but to think about what we are doing in secret. What are we doing when no one is watching? I gave the example of the woman that was subject to bleeding for 12 years. Her secret touch turned into a public testimony. Hey you guys!! Today i talked about living a lukewarm lifestyle. A life where you know about Jesus, but do you really know who He is? A life where you have one foot with the world and one foot with God. A life that will actually end up guiding you to destruction and to the words, “Depart from me, for I never knew you.” This is why being lukewarm is such a dangerous place to be at. Hey you guys!! Today i talked about the reason why Jesus died for us. It’s so often the times that we walk around telling people how Jesus died for them, but do we truly know what that means? Do we know the deep love Jesus had to have for us in order to do that? It is something we will never understand. Firstly because our knowledge doesn’t even compare to the knowledge of God. But also because we won’t always understand EVERYTHING that God does. Jesus chose the cross for you and i. He did it because though we are so unworthy, He sees worth in us. Hey you guys!! Today i talked about the significance of the silence of Jesus. I explained some different reasons why Jesus can be silent with us sometimes. I gave the example of the silence Jesus gave to the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15 and also how David felt in the middle of this silence in Psalm 22-23. Though it is a silence that makes us uncomfortable and makes us believe that God is not listening or that He is far, it is actually in the silence of God where our faith goes from surface level to a deeper level. Do you still have no faith?” I feel like a lot of times Jesus is still asking us this question. We are also like the disciples when the storms and winds come, we forget that Jesus is on our boat. Hey you guys!! Today i talked about feeling crushed and how Jesus felt crushed as well. In one of His weakest moments He went to a place called Gethsemane (which means crushing of olives). Before Jesus’ resurrection and victory, He felt crushed and sorrowful. We at times feel the same. We feel weak and like these processes are swallowing us. But, even when Jesus felt this way to, He walked in the will of God and ended in victory. He says “the flesh is weak but the spirit is willing”. I explained how each part of this parable point to Jesus’ returning and the importance of us as the Body of Christ to not just have a lamp (the outside appearance of someone “holy” and “christian”) without what keeps the lamp burning, the oil (the dwelling of the Holy Spirit that transforms us). Hey you guys!! Today i talked about spiritual warfare. I think one of the hardest things about following and serving Jesus is the warfare we go through. Ephesians 6 describes the constant battle we go through everyday when trying to serve Jesus. But, it also explains how we are able to be firm in Christ through this, which is wearing the full armor of God!!! I touched on how a robber never enters an empty home. The only reason the devil wants to attack us is because we have something so divine in us when we have Jesus and all the devil wants to do is steal that and make us walk farther from God and instead walk in the devil’s lies. Hey you guys!! Today i talked about serving Jesus and serving people. I read Matthew 20 and Romans 7 and through these chapters we see firstly how Jesus came to serve, not to be served. In this same way we need to serve the Lord to then be able to serve people correctly. Many times, people like to think that if we serve and follow Jesus, we are “slaves” to Him and His commands but if we walk in sin, we are walking in freedom. When this is 100% NOT TRUEEE!! We see the slavery of sin and how Paul writes about it in Romans 7. Walking in sin may give you temporary “freedom”. Serving fame, money, your culture, or even people before you are serving Jesus might make you feel good for a moment. But when we serve Jesus, wholeheartedly, out of our love for Him, you realize that this is true freedom.
