The Blond Commentary

As a 21-year-old college student, I know what it's like to be busy. Despite the hustle and bustle, it's in Jesus that I have found my hope and peace. But what does it mean to live the "Christian life" as a young person in the modern age? Join us weekly on The Blond Commentary as we talk about it.

  1. 8

Episode 8: In the Face of Tragedy

In life, we are bound to face countless trials and tragedies. The unfortunate condition of our fallen nature is that the sins of the world lead to nothing but pain and loss. However, it is through Christ that we can find eternal salvation. But while the difficulties of life continue to surround us, how are we to face the hardships that may and will come? In light of the recent tragedies on UGA's campus this past week, we use this episode to take a look at Scripture to see what the Lord says about His continued providence despite the darkness of sin.

  2. 7

Episode 7: Why We Worry (feat. Luke Hunsberger)

Throughout the Bible, we are promised that the Lord will not leave or forsake us. However, time and time again, many Christians, like myself, have had a difficult time truly placing our trust in the Lord and have found ourselves looking inward to make imperfect plans. This week, my friend, Luke, and I discuss what it looks like to faithfully rely on the Lord for our peace and why it is only through Jesus that we can find strength and freedom from worry.

  3. 6

Episode 6: The Lord Will Provide (Psalm 34)

Amidst the abundance of distractions in today's society, it is often difficult to let go and let God be the captain of our lives. As someone who loves to make a plan for everything, I understand how focusing on God's ability to provide for our various needs can be challenging when we want to have all the answers for ourselves. However, by reminding ourselves of the beautiful promises of Psalm 34, we can see the truth in God's providence and realize that, through Christ, there is nothing we lack.

  4. 5

    Episode 5: Waiting on Patience

Have you ever been brave enough to pray for patience? The Lord has a funny way of giving us ample opportunities to learn patience if we ask Him for it. That being said, in a society bound by an incessant need for instant gratification, why should we pray for patience and develop this spiritual discipline?

Episode 4: Less is More (feat. Samantha Lockett)

What does it mean to live the abundant life? Modern society would tell us that we must stay in a perpetual busy state to feel satisfaction truly. However, it is only by following the Lord's example and resting in His Goodness that we can truly find the work-life balance that He so desires for us. But with how busy our world is, how can we ensure that we are following God's Will while avoiding the burnout that surrounds us?

  6. 3

Episode 3: New Year, Same God

It's that time of year again to ring in 2024 by making your annual New Year's resolutions. Though most of us follow this practice, an alarming number do not adhere to our goals. In a world filled with instant gratification, it's no wonder that people rarely stick to their plans. In this episode, we look at the tradition of New Year's resolutions and why making God the priority in them is what will ensure their success.

  7. 2

Episode 2: Passion 2024, and The Desire of Our Souls

The Passion Conference. You've probably seen it all over social media. With its elaborate worship sets and beautiful messages, this event serves to inspire the next generation of disciple-makers to seek first the Kingdom of God and "Call on Heaven." In this episode, I talk about my experience during this year's Passion Conference, my key takeaways from the event, and the power of Gospel-centered community.

  8. 1

    Episode 1: Tell Your Story

Too often, I see young people scared or cautious to share their testimony with others because they see it as lacking spectacle or nuance. In today's episode, we explore how the power of testimony is not found in the substance of one's story but in the salvation it reflects.
