He also once worked SWAT, narcotics, and gangs and says that communication in law enforcement is essential. Kent also founded Baja Love Outreach, along with his wife, Chapel, a nonprofit which exists to empower orphans and orphanages in Baja, Mexico. Dr. Carmody explains how strategy and breaking down the paper into realizable chunks is key to writing the paper well.

    Student Host Audrey Norton gains inspiration from VU Alumna Brenda Springer ('99), founder and CEO of Reveille, a marketing and public relations agency based in Orange County. Brenda's global ventures into public relations and marketing began in Skid Row where she helped to raise awareness about homelessness and later, to launching product collections in New York, Paris, London and beyond. It was the experience and mentoring she received in Paris that gave her the impetus to start Reveille in 2010.     Student Host Audrey Norton sits down with Vanguard University senior Esmeralda Jarquin who is set to graduate in May 2024. Her story begins during COVID when she first began her freshmen year as a pre-nursing major. Coincidently, it was during her sophomore year when she found herself in student leadership and met some influential seniors who were all communication majors. As a first generation college student, she had never heard of all the incredible things you could do with a communication degree since she was only familiar with STEM studies. Although she applied for nursing school, she decided to look into communication with a concentration in tech and emerging media instead and the rest is history. Listen in as she shares her undergraduate journey and what she's discovered along the way.
