The Power of Seasoned Citizens: We Honor You!

The Power of Seasoned Citizens: We Honor You!Today we honored our seasoned citizens as Scripture commands:“Stand up in the presence of the elderly… show respect for the aged.” (Leviticus 19:32)They are not a burden—they are a blessing. They carry wisdom (Job 12:12), provide guidance (Proverbs 11:14), and their lives are a crown of glory (Proverbs 16:31).Seasoned citizens still have purpose—Psalm 92:14 reminds us they continue to bear fruit. They don’t just help families—they build legacy through wisdom, faith, and life experience. If we honor them, we gain wisdom. If we ignore them, we lose it.We honor you. We value you. We thank God for you.God is able!

    We Are Still Here

🔥 We Are Still Here – Sermon Recap 🔥Today’s message came from 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 — we may be pressed, perplexed, persecuted, and knocked down, but we are NOT destroyed.Paul reminds us in Romans 1:1 that he was called by God, committed to the mission, and grounded in his identity. Even though ministry was hard, people doubted him, and circumstances challenged him, he stayed faithful.Paul endured prison, pain, betrayal, and hardship—but he never let it rob him of his calling, mission, or identity. And just like Paul… many of us have been through our own struggles—mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Some of us have felt shipwrecked, worn out, or even broken…BUT YOU ARE STILL HERE.2 Corinthians 4:1–2 reminds us—we don’t give up because of God’s mercy. And 2 Corinthians 4:13–18 shifts our perspective—what we’re going through is temporary, but God is producing something greater in us.For 6 years, Fort Bend Transformation Church has walked through challenges, growth, and transformation—and we are still standing.Same God. Same Mission. Still Here. 🙌

Matthew 28:16–20 — “They Worshipped… But Some Doubted”

Matthew 28:16–20 — “They Worshipped… But Some Doubted”This passage takes place after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The eleven disciples go to Galilee, to the mountain Jesus appointed. This is not случай—this is divine appointment and obedience. Even in their uncertainty, they showed up.Verse 17 is the tension point: “When they saw Him, they worshipped Him—but some doubted.”The word for worshipped is proskuneō—it means to bow down, to reverence, to submit. This is not casual acknowledgment. This is recognition of Jesus’ divine authority. They are responding to the resurrected Christ. But at the same time, some doubted. The Greek word used is distazō—it does not mean outright unbelief, but hesitation, wavering, uncertainty. It’s the picture of being pulled in two directions internally. So here is the exegetical reality: They are physically present with Jesus… They are acknowledging Him as Lord… Yet internally, some are still wrestling. This reveals something critical: Faith and doubt can coexist in the same moment. The text does not rebuke them. Instead, in verse 18, Jesus moves toward them and declares: “All authority (exousia) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”He doesn’t address their doubt first—He establishes His authority. Then He gives the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples (mathēteuō)… teaching (didaskō) them…”Here’s the theological weight: Jesus commissions worshippers who are still working through doubt. He does not wait for perfect faith. He calls them while they are still growing. And then He closes with a promise: “I am with you always…”So the structure of the text shows: Presence → Worship → Tension (doubt) → Authority → Commission → PromiseThe takeaway: You don’t have to have it all figured out to follow Jesus. You can worship Him and still be processing. What matters is that you respond, submit, and continue in obedience.God is able.

The Blood, the Lamb, and the Resurrection

This sermon begins with a simple but powerful truth: every person has a story—marked by life’s good, bad, and difficult moments. Yet above every human story is a greater story—God’s story of redemption through Jesus Christ.Rooted in Isaiah 53:5–6, the message reveals that Jesus, the Lamb, was wounded for our transgressions and carried the weight of our sin. His sacrifice was personal—He took our place, bringing us peace and healing through His suffering. The sermon then moves to the victory found in His blood (Revelation 12:11), emphasizing that we overcome not by our strength, but through what Christ has already done and the testimony of how He has changed our lives. It also affirms that those who belong to Him are known and secured, with their names written in the Book of Life.At the heart of the message is the resurrection—not just as an event, but as the power that transforms our story. Because of the resurrection, our lives are no longer defined by what we were, but by who we are in Christ. This transformation is made clear: Broken → Healed Lost → Found Guilty → Forgiven Bound → Free Empty → Filled Hopeless → Hopeful Defeated → Victorious Ashamed → Redeemed Dead → Alive Forgotten → ChosenThis sermon declares that through the Blood, the Lamb, and the Resurrection, our story is changed into a testimony of God’s grace, power, and redemption. God is able.

The Conversation: Bruce Lemmie, Sugar Land 95 & Convict Leasing System

Join The Conversation with Pastor David L. Sincere Jr. for a powerful Black History Month Special – Bible Study Edition as we uncover the untold stories of the Sugar Land 95 and the Convict Leasing System—a dark chapter in American history that shaped our communities in ways many still do not fully understand.📢 Special Guest: Bruce Lemmie – a historian dedicated to preserving the history of the Sugar Land 95, bringing insight into the legacy of forced labor and its lasting effects on our community. What Are the Sugar Land 95?The Sugar Land 95 refers to the remains of 95 African American men who were discovered in an unmarked burial ground in 2018 during a construction project in Sugar Land, Texas. These men were victims of the Convict Leasing System, a form of neo-slavery that flourished after the abolition of chattel slavery. The system allowed state governments to lease prisoners—most of whom were Black men arrested on minor or fabricated charges—to private companies for backbreaking labor, particularly in industries like sugar and railroad construction. What Was the Convict Leasing System? After the Civil War and the passing of the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery except as punishment for a crime, many Southern states exploited this loophole. Black men were disproportionately arrested for vague offenses like vagrancy, loitering, or failing to prove employment and were then leased to private industries, forced to work under brutal conditions. Many died from exhaustion, malnutrition, and abuse, their bodies buried in unmarked graves—forgotten by history. This discussion will not only explore the historical injustices faced by African Americans but also provide a faith-based perspective on remembrance, resilience, and justice.Join us for an evening of learning, reflection, and empowerment as we honor the past and seek to build a more just future.
