The Depression Clubhouse

Welcome to The Depression Clubhouse my friends. Whether you exist in a mild state of dullness, or it feels like you’re drowning in a black hole you’ll never escape, this podcast will help you cope with depression. We’ll meet in the clubhouse three times a month. The 1st and 3rd Monday of every month will be an interview. (I’ll talk to normal people just like you and me who have dealt with depression). The last Monday of every month will be a deep dive ( I’ll explore topics such as “Habit Change”, “Making Friends”, “Faith”, etc.).Your host has spent five long, proud years on the New York Times Most Wanted Fugitives list. But anyway, I’m no self-help guru. I’m just…Brian.

JIMMY II [Sing Sing, Living Without Electricity, Post Prison Glow Up]

Get ready for an emotional, enriching interview with my friend Jimmy. We cover many topics such as sing sing, alcoholism, living without electricity, moms death bed, and glowing up post prison. We also talk about the mysterious power of God, cultivating gratitude, and maintaining sobriety.Guys, this will be my last episode for awhile. My dark, violent past has finally caught up with me and I must flee to an isolated hut in Mexico without internet connection. So I will not be able to release episodes. ( My hiatus has absolutely nothing to do with me going back to school.)But in all seriousness, I’m really sad I need to take a break from from the pod, but unfortunately between school and work, I simply won’t have enough time to create the podcast :(  I usually don’t like to get too sentimental, but I feel like that famous Dr. Seuss quote really applies here : “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile and donate to my Patreon because it happened”

JIMMY [ Abuse, Prison, Being A Secret Genius]

Get ready for a raw, riveting interview with my friend Jimmy. We cover many topics such as abuse, bullying, rage, prison, and being a secret genius. Jimmy was brutally honest and opened up about some pretty heavy stuff, so I want to commend Jimmy for his vulnerability. Saying you want to commend someone is kind of a weird phrase, because you're saying you want to commend them, but you’re not necessarily commending them. But anyway, Jimmy had such an interesting life story, that we talked for over two hours and could have talked for several more.  You’ll be hearing one hour today, and the second hour in a couple weeks. Why are you still reading? Hit play already you punk ass bitch.

DAVID [Manic Episodes, Suicide Attempt, Time Travel]

Get ready for a sincere, succinct interview with my friend David. We cover many topics such as manic episodes, reckless spending, isolation, suicide, and time travel. We also discuss how to differentiate between mania and normal happiness, the benefits of support groups, and opening up too loved ones about your diagnosis.

BRIANA [ Abandonment, Dissociation, Wishing You Were Bipolar]

Get ready for an intense interview with my friend Briana. We cover many topics such as abandonment, perfectionism, dissociation, extreme guilt, and Wishing You Were Bipolar. We also get into some pretty heavy conversations about her abortion. As you can tell, we had a lot to talk about , so the interview ended up being two hours long. You’ll have access to the first hour today, and only subscribers will get access to the second hour. Upon further analysis, I realized that I don’t have any subscribers. So the second hour will be posted in two weeks…free of charge ( sigh).

STEPHEN LACHOWSKI ( aka My Middle School Bully)

Welcome to week 2 everyone. This weeks episode is an original comedy piece, which needs some explaining. In the old episode format, I acted as if we were physically meeting in the clubhouse. I’d do a deep dive, interview , sketch, and between those I’d do “ad reads”, interact with people, etc. Today’s comedy piece is a “Lost Episode” if you will, I was in the middle of recording a new episode when I decided to move to the new format, so I did not intend to post that episodes ad reads, and my interactions with Weird Guy ( WG), intern Jimmy, and… someone else. However, they are all intricately connected , and lol worthy, so I figured I’d weave them together and release them as a stand alone comedy piece. This has nothing to do with me being fearful of not completing the current sketch I was working on by Monday  morning. I’M TRYING MY BEST DAD. But anyway, get ready for Stephen Lachowski. Format : 1) I greet everyone outside.  2) Ad read after the deep dive. 3) Anarchy after the interview.

  8. 9

TOMMY [Couples Therapy, Manipulation, Caveman Suicides]

Get ready for an insightful, inspirational interview with my friend Tommy. We cover many topics such as couples therapy, manipulation, chasing money, hopelessness, and caveman suicides. We also discuss turning pain into an asset, the power of thoughts, and overcoming fear.

    Acceptance II

On May 15th, 2023, we took a deep dive into acceptance.  We learned a vital lesson : Why we should accept our depression. However, since that unforgettable day, listeners across the globe have had a singular question burning in the minds.  How do I accept my depression? Well, grab some popcorn, pop in a gabapentin, and tell your service parrot to get it’s shit together,  because that’s the topic of today’s deep(er) dive.

  10. 7

BRENDAN [Co-dependency, Cocaine, Loud Italian Dads]

Get ready for a heartfelt, humorous conversation with my friend Brendan. We cover many topics such as Co-dependency, parents divorcing, addiction, physical anxiety, and loud Italian dads. We also talk about taking action, accepting help, and finding meaningful work.

    FAN MAIL

Once you hit play, your life will never be the same. Critics have hailed the sketch as “offensive, tasteless, off-putting.”  A particularly renowned critic, Nathaniel Bellridge, proclaimed  “The writing, voice acting, and overall production reeks of a pathetic amateur. If I came across the anonymous Brian in public and recognized his voice, I’d assault him without hesitation.”This sketch is brought to you by CancelCo! Acceptance, Alex, & My Stepdad Larry

Welcome to the Depression Clubhouse bitches. After a lengthy hiatus were BACK in the clubhouse for our second ever meeting. In todays’s meeting we’ll - wait, I need to clarify something :  The lengthy hiatus has absolutely nothing to do with me being a fugitive on the run. I have not spent the past five months in a perpetual state of dread, peeking through motel blinds fearing the inevitable moment when law enforcement finally barges through my door and throws me behind bars for the remainder of my living days… Uhhh, where was I? Ah yes. Today’s meeting. We’ll explore the hidden wonders of Acceptance  ( 2:58-24:11), talk to Alex about chronic illness, suicide, Spiderman 3 (27:10-1:07:32), then watch me fight for my Stepdads Larry’s affection (1:08:33-01:19:51).
