What No Longer Fits: Learning to Put Off the Old Self
We’ve all carried labels that were never meant to stick — not enough, too much, unworthy, forgotten. In Colossians 2:11–17, Paul reminds us that those labels were cut away when we came to Christ. In their place, we were given a new identity — one rooted in His love and freedom. In this episode, Lexie unpacks what it means to be “dead to the old, alive to the new” and how to actually live from your new identity in the everyday moments of life — from the way you speak to yourself to the way you show up in relationships. In this episode, you’ll learn:What Paul means when he says we’ve been “buried and raised with Christ”How to stop wearing old spiritual “name tags” that no longer define youSimple ways to practice living from your new identity in ChristEncouragement for the days when your old habits try to creep back inReflection Practice:Take a quiet moment this week to write down the labels you’ve been carrying — the words or beliefs that have shaped how you see yourself. Then, next to each one, write a new word that reflects who you are in Christ.(Example: Not enough → Chosen. Forgotten → Known. Inadequate → Complete in Him.)Scripture: Colossians 2:11–17Mentioned in this episode: lexiemahaffey.com/podcast Find me on Instagram @lexmahaffey

Complete in Christ
In today’s episode, we’re slowing down to explore one of the deepest questions we all wrestle with: What is my purpose? The world often tells us that purpose is something we have to earn — a title, a job, a dream achieved. But Scripture paints a different picture. In Colossians 1:18–22, Paul reminds us that purpose isn’t found in performance — it’s found in a Person. Everything — from galaxies to your ordinary Tuesday — finds its meaning and completion in Jesus.Through Him, God is reconciling everything back to Himself — restoring what was broken, renewing what feels forgotten, and bringing peace where there once was distance. In this episode, we’ll talk about:What it means to find your worth in being His rather than in what you doHow reconciliation changes not just your relationship with God, but how you love othersThree practical ways to live with purpose and reflect His heart in everyday lifeWhether you’re in a season of waiting, striving, or wondering if you’ve lost your way — today’s episode will remind you:You were made on purpose, for His purpose. You are being restored, made whole, and invited into His reconciling story.Resources:Download The Dwelling Place Journal — a free companion to help you reflect, write, and dwell deeper in each episode.Subscribe to the Newsletter for weekly devotionals, community updates, and reflections on dwelling with Jesus.Connect with LexieInstagram → @lexmahaffeyWebsite → lexiemahaffey.comIf this episode encourages you, share it with a friend or leave a review — it helps more women find this space of rest, reflection, and renewal.
