Our Righteousness Is Like Filthy Rags — Is It an Excuse to Live in Sin?

“All our righteous acts are like filthy rags…” — Book of Isaiah 64:6 But what did the prophet really mean? And how did a verse about human inability become a justification for spiritual complacency? In this deeply reflective episode of Faith Mirrored, Host Kofo-Naomi confronts one of the most misunderstood scriptures in modern Christianity. Have we confused grace with permission? Have we used “filthy rags” as a shield to avoid transformation? This episode unpacks: • The true context of Isaiah 64 • The difference between self-righteousness and sanctification • Why grace empowers holiness — it does not excuse sin • What Epistle to the Romans 6 really teaches about dying to sin • How spiritual maturity requires accountability, not false humility This is not a message of condemnation. It is a call to alignment. If grace has covered you, transformation should follow. The question is not whether we are imperfect. The question is — are we using imperfection as an excuse? It’s time to confront comfortable Christianity. It’s time to mirror truth.

Living for Christ in a Modern World – Swimming Upstream(Part 1)

Hello and welcome to Faith Mirrored, the podcast where we reflect the light of God through real conversations, Scripture, and soul-deep encouragement. I'm your host, Kofo-Naomi.  Today, we’re diving deep into what it means to live a Christ-centred life in this fast-paced, digital and secular world. Let’s be honest, some days it feels like we’re just trying to stay afloat in a cultural tide that doesn’t exactly point us to Jesus.  Today, we’re not just talking about survival, we’re talking about thriving in Christ as a believer, even in a culture that feels like it’s going the other way In today’s episode, we’ll explore how to: — Stay grounded in Christ — Reflect Him in our daily lives — And guard our souls in an age of constant distraction.  And how can we be firm in our values and still be accepting of others  Jesus Himself said in Luke 5:32 (NIV):"I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Throughout his ministry, Jesus was seen dining, sitting with those the Jews and Pharisees would call the sinners, the unclean people….. but Jesus made it clear that he came for such people. Then John 17:14-16 (NIV) tells us that we are in this world but not of it, just as Jesus is not of this world. How do you live, interact and thrive in this world, yet you are not of it? How do we get the balance right? So let us settle in and unpack this together.

    God The Master Planner 2

Imagine God revealing the next 10 years of your life to you in a dream, clearly, precisely, and then you watch each moment unfold just as He showed you. Hello and welcome to Faith Mirrored, the podcast where we reflect the light of God through real conversations, Scripture, and soul-deep encouragement. I'm your host, Kofo-Naomi, and today we will be examining our God as the Master Planner — able to give you the blueprint about all that concerns you. The book of Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” When we live in ignorance, unaware of God’s blueprint, it can cost us purpose, peace, and direction. In His love, God desires for us to live in the fullness of His glory. That’s why He gave us His Spirit — the Holy Spirit — to dwell within us, to fellowship with us, and to guide each step we take according to His divine blueprint. We’ve been called to shine. Matthew 5:14 says, “You are the light of the world.” But how can you shine if you’re walking in darkness? Unsure of God’s will, disconnected from His plan? Jeremiah 1:5 reminds us, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” Your purpose began before your birth, and God still holds the blueprint for it. We’ll remind ourselves of how God revealed His plans throughout time, and ask: Why do we experience His voice differently in our generation? Why don’t we see the miracles of old as often? And what can we do to realign ourselves with His will? We’re diving into the wonder of a God who doesn’t improvise.

What the Enemy Meant for Evil, God Turned for Good.

I’m your host, Kofo Naomi, and today we’re reflecting on a truth that never loses its power, that even when life looks like it’s falling apart, God is still turning it around for good.  Our topic today is titled: “What the Enemy Meant for Evil, God Turned for Good.”  It’s more than a quote from Scripture — it’s the rhythm of redemption and restoration  It is how God works.  Sometimes, people will hate you for no reason.  You may have been kind to them, respectful, or minding your own business.  Or Maybe, like Mordecai, you refused to bow or break — you chose integrity over approval.  Or, it might be because the grace of God is visible in your life, which provokes envy in others.  They can’t explain it. They can’t control it.  So instead, they turn their insecurity into hostility.  All they want is your downfall — your ob-literation.  But what they don’t realize is this: no one can curse what or who God has blessed.   They should go and ask Balak and Balaam of their experience in the book of Numbers chapter 22 -24   From Genesis to Revelation, we see a God who doesn’t just repair damage — He reverses it.  He doesn’t just restore; He redeems.  To illustrate this, we’ll explore the lives of Joseph, Mordecai and Haman,  and ultimately, Jesus on the Cross we will see how God rewrites the stories of those the enemy tried to erase, those the world has written off  This is your mirror moment. a moment to pause and see yourself through the reflection of divine purpose.  So, get comfortable.    Let us remind ourselves that whatever we are going through, God is still able to turn it round for our good

    Revoking Security Clearance

Recently, I came across a post that read: “Some people will send you prayers and post Bible verses, yet they keep malice. Well I guess Salvation is personal, and only God knows who is truly serving Him.” This made me laugh, because I knew the poster, and I also knew exactly who the post was aimed at. But then I thought: what if it isn’t malice at all? What if that person hasn’t turned against you, but simply revoked your security clearance to their inner court? Hello and welcome to Faith Mirrored, the podcast where we reflect the light of God through real conversations, honest stories, and unfiltered Scripture.  I’m your host, Kofo Naomi, and in today’s episode we’re diving into a subject many Christians wrestle with: “Revoking Security Access.” It’s a controversial topic, because Jesus told us to forgive seventy times seven. Yet in real life, there’s a thin line between harbouring malice and exercising wisdom about who belongs in various courts of our lives.  Forgiveness is non-negotiable, but forgiveness doesn’t and shouldn’t automatically restore access into your priestly court for someone who has behaved badly. It is possible to love someone, wish them well, even pray for them, yet still withhold sensitive information from them or deny them access into certain areas of your life. The Scripture shows us that withholding is not a lack of love, but an act of wisdom. As Jesus said in John 16:12 and Paul echoed in 1 Corinthians 3:2,  sometimes people are not ready to receive certain truths, or information, as backed by the scripture in the book of Matthew 7:6. Today we’ll explore what God’s Word says about this, using the courts of Solomon’s Temple as our framework, and drawing lessons from the story of King Amaziah in 2 Chronicles 25:6–13.

When God Is Not Enough – Prophet Elijah

Hello and welcome to Faith Mirrored—the podcast where we reflect the light of God through raw conversations, honest stories, and unfiltered Scripture. I’m your host, Kofo-Naomi.  Thank you for joining me again. Today’s episode is titled: “When God Is Not Enough – Elijha Moment” And yes, I know—it sounds a little controversial, because God is always enough  But stay with me, because I am going somewhere with this.  The Holy Spirit laid this topic on my heart recently as I was studying 1 Kings. It is the story of the prophet Elijah. We often hear about the great miracles Elijah performed and how he was taken up to heaven, but what we rarely hear are his moments under the broom tree—the Elijah who doubted, who ran from Jezebel, who felt overwhelmed. I call these the “Elijah moments.” There are moments many believers experience but hardly speak about, for fear of being called blasphemous and judged  Yet the truth is, we all face times of weakness, doubt, or exhaustion.  These are moments when even those closest to God can feel lost, overwhelmed, or unsure. Moments when those who have seen the hands of God I their lives  And yet, in the face of disappointment, pressure, fear, and exhaustion… It feels like God is not enough. But we’re not alone in this. Elijah went through the same thing. So today, let’s sit with that truth. Let’s reassure one another, without shame or guilt, that it is ok when we find ourselves in this state of despair  and remind ourselves that even when it doesn’t feel like it… That God is always enough.

    Cancel Culture - JOB

I’m your host, Kofo Naomi, and today we’re diving into a subject that deeply resonates with our generation — Cancel Culture.  A culture that thrives on judgment before understanding.  Quick to condemn,  slow to listen,  and even slower to show grace.  We live in what may be the most sinful generation in history yet we are the least willing to extend grace.   Despite the plank in our own eyes, we rush to remove the speck in our brother’s.  We are quick to cast the first stone, quick to celebrate someone’s downfall, and quick to forget that we, too, are dust – simply redeemed by mercy.  We elevate people to the status of gods, only to tear them down without a shred of compassion when they stumble.  While reading the book of Job recently, I realised something striking that Cancel culture isn’t new.  Cancel culture existed long before hashtags and public callouts.  In the book of Job, we meet a righteous man who loses everything, his wealth, his health,  his children all in one devastating season.  Losing everything in a single season is earth-shattering.   To make matters worse, Job’s closest friends sat with him for seven days.   You will think they came to comfort him — a man broken, covered in sores, reeking of suffering.   But no… they came to condemn.  Job sat in ashes, scraping his sores, surrounded not by comforters, but by critics,   Does that sound familiar to our generation?  Rather than offering solace, they pressed him for a confession, convinced that his pain must be the consequence of his hidden sin  They assumed his suffering was proof of guilt.  They cancelled him!  In their eyes, Job was never righteous; he was only good at covering his evil.  And they concluded that he was simply a man now reaping what he had sown.  But oh… how wrong they were.  Today, we’re going to look closely at Job’s life, his pain, his friends, and their reactions and ask, What does God really say about all this?  Then, we’ll explore some practical steps on how we, as Christians, can respond differently when we face similar situations.

God Cannot Be Mocked - Part 2 - A man will reap what he sows

Welcome to another episode of  Faith Mirrored  I’m your host, Kofo-Naomi The book of Galatians 6:7 says: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” Today’s episode is one that carries weight.  This is a mirror moment. We’re here to have some hard and honest conversations with ourselves. Not to condemn, but to awaken.  Let me start by saying this: no one is perfect.  1 Corinthians 10:12 warns, “So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall”  So, I speak not as someone flawless, but as your sister — one walking this same faith journey beside you. Today’s episode is titled ‘’God Cannot Be Mocked. It’s not just a bold statement — it’s Scripture. It’s not only a warning; it’s a call.  A call to spiritual maturity.  A call to holiness.  A call to examine how we’re truly living and walking with God.

Welcome to Faith Mirrored. I'm your host, Kofo-Naomi. Today, we’re journeying into the invisible realm - the spiritual battlefield, where destinies are formed, challenged, and secured. You may not see it, but there is a seat for you at the table of divine decisions. What you’re experiencing in the physical world is the result of what has been discussed and decided in the spirit. The question is were you present at the table when decisions about your life were made, or were you absent? We will be examining what happens at the throne room of grace, how decisions are made and how you can ensure that you have a seat at that table.
