The community we see at the end of Colossians is the result of Christ’s finished work — He enlists, encourages, and empowers a gospel people.

We don’t work so Jesus might love us, we work because he does love us. We don’t give so that Jesus' sacrifice might be for us, we give because it is for us. We don’t devote all that we have so we might receive the promise of eternal life. We have received the promise of eternal life and now we can devote it all to Him.

When God is the architect and his Word is the foundation, our lives can reflect his good design and be a light to others.

Our new identity in Christ ought to be reflected by putting sin to death and putting on the virtues of the new self.

Jesus is enough as we serve the cause of Christ by sharing the gospel of Christ to build up the body of Christ.

The gospel is joy, power, and grace. The gospel is Jesus. When we understand this, it bears fruit in our lives.
