    New Year, New Me?

This is the new board's first episode. Transitions are hard. This is especially true for a freshman in high school who is trying to adapt and fit into high school for the very first time. In this episode, the new board will introduce themselves and then interview a couple of freshman about their transitions to high school and how that affected them. The Theory of Everything

The final episode of the year #6! Sam and Laura invited Mount Sinai's BSEP Instructor and favorite Science Research teacher: Dr. Hossein Aleyasin! We were able to talk to Hossein about how to understand the psychology and neuropsychiatry of stress and coping mechanisms amidst widespread struggles of communication, self-reliance, and honesty in multiple settings ( school and professional ). We also talked about the prevalence of AI and how that impacts the need for human connection and accessibility/necessity of therapy! So basically, we talked about a little bit of "everything"! We want to thank Hossein for taking time out of his week to film a podcast episode with us! This episode is our longest, so sit back, grab a snack and enjoy!

    Healing Hearts: Losing to Gain

Welcome back to another episode of the TMB Podcast! We’ve talked about growing up, assessing our mental health journeys, giving advice, burnout, stress, anxiety and more. But, change is one of the biggest things that make us human. In this episode, Samuel and Laura were joined by our good friend and senior, Tann Waraloardgoson, and talked about childhood, the art of letting go, outgrowing situations, friendships, circumstances, and more! Whether it’s letting go of expectations that weigh you down, or the bittersweet nostalgia of moving on from college, we’re unpacking why change feels so scary and how to embrace it. We’re also tackling regret—those "what ifs" that keep you up at night—and how to heal, forgive yourself, and move forward without feeling like you’re losing a piece of who you are. It’s normal to wonder about the future, but also dwell on what you could have done differently. What’s important is that you are here NOW! Sometimes, you have to lose to gain! It’s hard to make adjustments especially when you’ve built a routine around what’s normal to you. If you've ever struggled with moving on, trust us, you’re not alone. We want to thank you guys for tuning in to TMB’s “Healing Hearts” Week. Stay tuned for more next month! We hope this episode makes you feel seen. Happy Valentine's Day TMB Family! We thank you for supporting our mental health initiative.

    Don't Stress, Just SOS

From our first episode where we talked about burnout, how do we navigate our lives when the key is finding some kind of passion? What defines a passion? Everyone is used to hearing the phrase "passion project", especially in their high school journeys. However, this mentality can lead to obsession and we need to find ways to discover healthy passions where we enjoy the journey, not just the destination. Starting anything takes time, so let's try to enjoy the process :) Join  Samuel and Laura as we talk with the co-leaders of the BSGE ( Baccalaureate School for Global Education ) SOS Club Chapter!  We had so much filming this one for you guys! And as always, in any situation, don't stress #justsos

    Burning the Burnout

Our first episode! Burnout can affect anyone, and one of the most courageous steps you can take is asking for help. Whether you are listening as a student or not, you do not need to prove anything to anyone. Working while simultaneously sacrificing your health is not worth risking, regardless of how important school or work can be to us. It's difficult, to say the least! We don’t always give ourselves more credit for it, but any effort is still effort :) Thank you for all your support and we hope you enjoy! Let's burn the burnout!Follow The Mental Breakdown on Instagram!@hsmsetmb
