Leadership Redefined: A Deep Dive into Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead
SummaryIn this episode, I discuss Brené Brown's book 'Dare to Lead', exploring the themes of leadership, vulnerability, empathy, and the importance of communication and values in fostering effective teams. I tried to really emphasize that leadership is not confined to titles and that anyone can be a leader by caring for others and being willing to connect on a deeper level. There is so much significance in understanding one's values and the role of empathy in creating meaningful connections within teams, and in relationships because everything gets stronger when we can foster strong connections.

Speak it, feel it, see it
In this episode, I share with you the 'aha' moment which connected the piece I was missing to manifesting and doing it QUICKLY; it is understanding the relationship between repeating an affirmation and how it related to the law of attraction. I heard a conversation that really made it all click, so join me as I reflect and discover in my own understanding in real time why understanding the science behind how things work is necessary, especially when it comes to success.

Stop Shrinking, Start Showing Up
In this episode I share some old limiting beliefs from my past, and insecurities from my present with a new perspective has impacted my self image. The fear of judgement robs us of opportunity far too often, and I dive into the need to redefine self-worth beyond external validation and encourage you to detach from the opinions of others, show up for what really matters, and start walking the confidence you should carry, because the details of your being that you THINK people care about has no relevance to where you fall on the scale of being a valuable person to society. Tune in for some tips, stories and tricks to snap you out of it when your unconscious self tries to shrink your confidence.

Opting Out of Assigned Identities
It's really easy to become confused and spiral out of control when work starts to take over your personal identity and life. I share the importance of separating self-worth from professional identity, particularly in client-facing roles where our sense of self is difficult to separate. Allow me to help you navigate the balance between the two with a few personal anecdotes, an assignment, and an understanding of why you got here and how you can get into alignment with who you've been all this time, which is worthy and full of value.

Don't let it be a wish
We're all guilty of it.. doomscrolling and dwelling in the envy of the life experiences we 'wish' we could have, allowing that longing feeling turn to sadness or disappointment, as though it is not a possibility for it to happen for us. It's a behavior we have to watch for and realize that wishing will not bring it to us; changing our attitude about it will. In this impromptu episode, I share the significance of financial freedom and the law of vibration as it relates to the luxury and/or desirable vacations, material possessions, and experiences. Stay tuned until the very end for an update of the laws of the universe working for me the day after this episode was recorded.. that synchronicity is super important to tie all the teachings together.

Through a spiritual lens, we find that there is always a choice, and life becomes simpler to navigate, while simultaneously becoming more enjoyable when we take responsibility and look beyond the surface of our superficial lives and into the soul just a little more. The art of single-mindedness
Don't get me wrong, everyday we HAVE to be able to juggle the things on our to-do list, but when it comes to our biggest ambitions, and doing what we have never done before, it takes focus. Accomplishing and mastering on one grand, spectacular, audacious, life-changing habit or goal is worth our undivided attention, so then why do we create a to-do list the length of a novel, set way too many vague goals, and then throw our hands up in the air when we don't achieve it in a week? Tune in to the first episode of the 2025 season to get inspired to slow down, tune in, and make things happen through the art of single-mindedness.

Getting comfortable with the discomforts of insecurity
This episode is based on the revelations and teachings from Alan Watts' "The Wisdom of Insecurity." The word insecure, while being a word we usually use to describe our state of self-esteem means something entirely different in the context of this book. Alan Watts brings awareness to our clinging to symbols rather than having faith in the unknown, and paints the picture objectively of our behavior that although understandable, robs us of true happiness. From a philosophers point of view, I think he's trying to simply raise consciousness of our tendencies so that we can see the flaw and make changes, but from a personal development standpoint, these kinds of teachings are relevant because they open us up to a more enjoyable and healthy way of journeying to get everything we want. Join me in my synopsis of this book for some life-changing perspectives and finding a way to live with the insecurity that comes with growing and maximizing our human experience!

Things I’m learning as I start my business
It can be so difficult to view your business as being equal or even higher priority over your job when there’s still fear and uncertainty around the idea. Tune in to hear a little bit about what I’ve come to realize about myself and my limitations that I’ve placed in myself that by the next part of this little series, will no longer be a barrier!

Make peace with being unlike the majority
A common theme I hear in every success story is to stop giving a *you know what* about the opinions of those around you. But I think at the root of that is being extremely secure in your originality and being able to lean into the things that set you apart from the rest. When you’re able to do that without force or deliberate effort, you’ve reached alignment with who you really are and opportunity is attracted to authenticity. Join me in breaking down some of those insecurity walls and create a safe space for you to simply be yourself.

A guide to creating an effective vision board
I was inspired for years to create a vision board but was so overwhelmed by the different types, themes, aesthetics etc and that held me back from actually sitting down and outlining what I truly wanted and getting it compiled into a journal or on a board. So in this episode I’m going to give you a breakdown of categories that I used to outline my vision board and I’ll be sharing some examples of what’s on my board but please use this loosely as a guide and know that there’s no wrong way to set goals. As long as you are setting them without limitations, have good intentions and are doing this for YOU that’s all that matters. I hope this episode helps eliminate the overwhelm of setting goals because it’s all about translating what you want to create and experience with your time on this planet and finding a visual representation to look over every day. Get creative and join me for this journey!

Affirmations for your newest chapter in life
I believe that every time a “fresh start” rolls around we feel the pressure to use it as an opportunity and to that I say yes, but everyday is an opportunity. The reason you may have felt like the last season of your life wasn’t fruitful is simply a lack of understanding or a lack of resources to the right programming. I talk about this a lot in other episodes but today, I want you to follow along with some of these declarations to yourself and use them every day until the words become meaningless and the principle is apart of you. Here’s to a new year or chapter of life, new mindset, and new permissions to make the most of oneself.

Things I'm learning as I start my dream business Part 2
Over the years I have worked on this idea; building out the vision anyway. Please feel free to leave comments on this episode with advice, questions, and thoughts! I can't wait to share the progress in the next episode of this series.

Your dreams actually DO mean something
Daydreams, sleeping dreams, nightmares, real life dreams, they all mean something. Most people don't remember their dreams, or can't be bothered to write them down and so they get lost with our normal reality throughout the day, but in my experience I always find something symbolic or coincidental or inspiring in a dream, even the bad ones. I had a conversation with my brother one day and I said "dreams are visions, not fantasies" and its stuck over the years. Our dreams don't come from a wild, misunderstood part of the mind; they derive from our subconscious and if there's one thing I know, it's that our subconscious has more influence over our outcome than our conscious thinking mind. So tune in for a little story and hopefully some inspiration to start listening to what that creative little being called your subconscious is trying to show you.

The Inferiority Complex: Causes and Guidance For Overcoming
"What is the inferiority complex?" you may ask. It's the chronic feeling of not being good enough in any given area of your life. Now, don't take this as a clinical diagnosis; I believe to an extent we all have or have had in the past some form of this complex. The issue is not having it; the issue is overcoming it, but in order to do that we have to understand the root and the cause behind why we feel we are not good enough or inadequate, whether it be in regard to a job, a partner, a friend, attainment of a goal or a dream. Listen in to hear a little bit of my experience with the inferiority complex, how I have, and am still, breaking down that wall, and how you can and should do the same.

The Way Out Is Through - With Pratibha Dey
We’re definitely in an era of life where these types of topics are almost taboo and sensitized, but in this episode I got to chat with a good friend of mine who has dealt with some incredibly challenging life circumstances, mental health and mindset adversities, and came out on the other side as a person who refused to let those factors define her. Mental health is a term that tends to be used incorrectly, and we allow it to place limitations on our ability to develop oneself and work on our mindset and work through our history. We decide what we do with adversity and pain; we can let it define us, or we can push through and prioritize working on ourselves. Tune in to hear from Pratibha on how she got through the most challenging years of her life, her experience working in the mental health space, and inside perspective on the reality of the industry.

We've all been there; "But what if I regret it?" It is the biggest limiting belief, not because we are afraid of where we will end up but because we are afraid that we'll be unhappy. And second of all, regret is no more than a fabrication of our future to keep us where we are because our programming teaches us to be chronic worriers, not risk-takers. Tune in to this episode of On The Rise with Sarah for a new perspective to keep those indecisive, fearful thoughts at bay and finally start choosing life.

There is a cause to every effect, and if there's resistance in your life towards being able to get up and go at the day like it's your last day on earth, the cause is likely unconscious. Join Taylor and I in digging deep to uncover all the reasons and resolutions to waking up every day and not feeling like it owns you, but you own it. They don't teach us in school how to create a life worth living; this is where it starts.

Recognizing False Productivity
What is false productivity? It's the idea that you're going and going and going yet there seems to be no real advancement. Learn the difference between accomplishing the necessary tasks we take on to survive and doing something to propel you closer to a goal or higher place in your life. There are a lot of patterns we adopt like pretending to be busy when someone walks into the room, sharing all of the chores we got done for credit, and going to sleep at a prescribed time simply because we have to in order to get our eight hours of sleep. Productivity hacks can only get you so far without understanding your programming, and once you do, just watch and see how much better you can get every day.
