Progress Not Perfection - Erica Lane (#018)
In a fascinating conversation covering several aspects of human psychology, Erica Lane and I talk about how we tend to forget the “hard times”. When the universe hits us with a brick wall, we tend to straighten up and fly right for a while. But with time, the gravity of the lesson may begin to wear off and old habits creep back in.One of the deeper aspects we cover is the idea of Progress Not Perfection. When we see the choice as a totality, it can be far more challenging to do the right thing. The problem we have is when we fall off the wagon, if we are focused on that one misstep as a representation of the ENTIRE experience, then we won’t be as inclined to jump back into the game. But when we are able to see our progress as improvement over time, as opposed to an all or nothing game of PASS/FAIL – WIN/LOSE, we are far more likely to take ground in the areas we want to improve.Want to learn more about exploring what it means to live a fulfilling life?Subscribe to the YouTube channel here.

The Simplicity of Faith - Leslie Ann Reams (#009)
In this episode, Leslie Ann Reams shares her journey to find happiness. After completing several personal development programs, she found herself still feeling unfulfilled. The problem was there wasn't anything really "wrong" so she didn't feel compelled to "fix" anything. One day, her son's girlfriend invited her to Church and the rest is history. Originally born and raised in the Midwest, Leslie Ann traveled the world, lived abroad, and for decades led an affluent life. A sudden life change forced her to start from scratch, having to learn basic finances to survive while struggling to raise two teen boys: one in trouble with the law, the other with addiction. After investing thousands in various personal development courses and delving into different spiritual practices, Leslie Ann found herself only temporarily fulfilled, finding that only another course could bring back that sense of happiness. It was only when she turned her gaze upward that EVERYTHING fell into place. This newfound conviction became her guiding light, giving her everything she could ever ask for and more all with grace and ease! Leslie Ann's journey reminds us that sometimes, the answers we seek are found above.Want to learn more about exploring what it means to live a fulfilling life?Subscribe to the YouTube channel here.

The Secret of My Success - Intro to the Show (#001)
This is the very first episode and this is where we talk a little bit about what exactly we mean by the secret of my success. • What does it mean to explore living a fulfilling life? • What can you expect in this podcast? • Why should you tune in? • Why should you care? Allow me to take a moment to explain, to describe, to express, to the best of my ability, what we hope to accomplish with this podcast. Over many years, a couple of decades in fact, I have been searching for answers. I have always been interested in philosophy, religion, spirituality, logic and so many different facets. I've read books on Christianity and Buddhism. Dabbled a little bit in Judaism. Basically in many different spiritual paths. I have done several different kinds of personal development over the years from healing ceremonies to the three-day seminars where you're locked in a room and sharing your feelings all weekend. I have done the nine-week program, the three month program, the three year program. You name it, I have probably done either that or something very similar. One of the things that I discovered in 2023, as I was really reflecting on what I could share to help people break through their own barriers and to accomplish their own version of success… One of the things that I realized is that I could not point to any one thing. At the same time, with a couple of exceptions, I couldn't really discount anything either. That really got me to thinking about all of the amazing people that I met over the course of these two decades. What we've learned together. How we came together. Where they were when we met and where they are now. I know that in my journey, one of the things that I discovered is that it didn't go the way I expected it to go. And I kept running at the wall like the course or the thing was going to fix me. As I was having conversations with my friends, my peers, my compadres. I was starting to realize and recognize that they were having similar experiences as well, completely shifting what they did for a living or totally altering their view of the universe and how it worked. Each of them was accomplishing this idea of living a fulfilling life in very different ways. And so I thought, well, wouldn't it be pretty cool to share their stories.I believe that there is no one right way to accomplish success. Each of us is a unique individual with unique drives and we're each here to fulfill our own purpose in the universe. What does that look like for you? What have you been trying to create that you keep running into walls around?Or maybe you accomplish what it is you thought you would set out to do, but it was in a very different way than you imagined. Or maybe you're in a completely different place from where you thought you would be when you started. This podcast is sharing those stories, sharing the successes, sharing the failures, sharing the stumbles, sharing the surrender, and sharing really what it means to not only have success, but to be fulfilled while accomplishing success. Join me as I explore: • What success is• What the secrets to success are or could be• What it means to live a fulfilling life. Please feel free to engage in the comments below. #TheSecretOfMySuccess #Success #Fulfillment #spirituality #personaldevelopement #dowhatyouloveWant to learn more about exploring what it means to live a fulfilling life?Subscribe to the YouTube channel here.
