S3EP31 | Breaking the Standards: Macy Pruett Talks Body Image, Confidence & Real Wellness

Send us Fan MailWhat if the hardest part of getting healthy isn’t changing your body but changing the way you see yourself? My conversation with Macy Pruett, certified personal trainer, pre-and postnatal fitness coach, and founder of The Fittest Core, is an honest opportunity for all of us to take a deeper look at the beliefs we carry about body image, confidence, and self-worth. In this episode, Macy and I get real about the struggles so many people face when it comes to fitness and identity, unpacking the myths, pressures, and unrealistic expectations that shape the way we see ourselves.Macy’s journey into women’s fitness was born out of real life and personal experience. Through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and the everyday challenges of motherhood, she created The Fittest Core to help women pursue strength, confidence, and overall wellness without chasing impossible standards. What started from her own needs quickly grew into something that connected deeply with women looking for a healthier and more sustainable approach to fitness and self-care.Throughout our conversation, we both open up about our own insecurities, struggles with self-image, and the pressure that can come from fitness culture and social media. We talk about how our perspectives on health and body image have evolved through different seasons of life, the work it takes to care for yourself in healthier ways, and why confidence is never one-size-fits-all. When we begin to believe in ourselves differently, it changes the way we show up, not only for ourselves, but for the people we love and the lives we’re building.Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make your story count!Support the showThank you for lending your time to The Soul Goals today!  If you enjoy the content, we'd love to have you subscribe and write a review! You can also find more of The Soul Goals on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube!https://instagram.com/the_soul_goals?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA==https://www.facebook.com/TheSoulGoals?mibextid=LQQJ4dhttps://youtube.com/@TheSoulGoalsPodcast?si=XvgQQnixi-SmMGg7If you have an idea for an episode or would like to share your own story, we'd love to hear from you!  Email [email protected]

S3EP30 | Finding Your Why | Burnout, Purpose & Identity with Rachel Marie Martin

Send us Fan MailSometimes the hardest question isn’t “What should I do next?”, it’s “Why am I doing any of this at all?”In this deeply honest and grounded conversation with Rachel Marie Martin, we dive into purpose, burnout, identity, and the search for meaning in the middle of everyday life. Rachel’s journey began with her online platform, Finding Joy, a space created to encourage, uplift, and remind people they are not alone in the middle of their struggles. Since then, she’s become a respected author, speaker, and entrepreneur, but what makes Rachel’s story so powerful is her willingness to be transparent about the hardship, uncertainty, and life experiences that shaped her along the way.Life has a way of pulling us off course. It can leave us questioning our purpose, our faith, our worth, and whether the path we’re on still aligns with who we truly are. Rachel opens up about navigating difficult seasons, rebuilding her life from the inside out, and learning how to grow through pain instead of simply surviving it. Together, we unpack the challenge of trying to stay connected to the deeper reasons behind the work we do, the relationships we nurture, and the responsibilities that often consume us.Rachel talks honestly about how easy it is to drift into survival mode, constantly moving without stopping long enough to ask ourselves whether we’re still aligned with what truly matters. The fear of slowing down and the challenge of believing we are already enough can expose parts of ourselves we’ve spent years avoiding. But those moments of honesty, the moments where we confront our passions, our fears, and our “why”, are often the places where healing and self-worth begin to take root. This conversation doesn’t offer perfect answers or polished formulas for finding purpose, but it does create space for reflection, the kind that challenges you to look inward and recognize that clarity often comes through doing the deeper work. Sometimes the most pivotal moments in life happen when we finally clean out the hidden corners, allowing our experiences to become someone else’s healing blueprint.Finding your “why” rarely happens in one big breakthrough moment, it’s usually discovered slowly.  Through honesty and surrender, the decision to keep showing up is a big one.  Purpose isn’t found all at once…it’s built every time you choose to try again.Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make your story count!Support the showThank you for lending your time to The Soul Goals today!

S3EP29 | Inside Hospice Care: What It Means to Be Present at Life’s End

Send us Fan MailWhat does it truly mean to care for someone at the end of their life, and how can we learn to see death not just through the lens of grief, but through dignity, compassion, and even celebration for a life fully lived? As I sit down with Rhonda Lewis from the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center to talk about the heart behind hospice care and the sacred role she serves as both a nurse and nursing supervisor, I’m reminded that death deserves the same tenderness, honor, and reverence that we so naturally give to birth. Rhonda’s work reveals how powerful it can be to simply show up for another human being during one of life’s most vulnerable and reflective transitions. What many fear as an ending can also become a deeply meaningful time filled with connection, peace, forgiveness, love, and presence.Together, we explore what hospice truly is — not giving up, but choosing comfort, dignity, compassion, and quality of life for those nearing the end of their journey. Rhonda shares the reality of what she witnesses every day while caring for patients and supporting families through some of the most emotional moments they will ever face. We talk about grief, humanity, resilience, and the quiet strength it takes to walk beside someone in their final chapter. She opens up about how she carries the emotional weight of the work, what keeps her grounded, and why this path became her calling. This episode is compassionate, honest, and deeply human — a conversation about life, purpose, and what it truly means to care for another person. In learning how to honor death with more grace and openness, we can also be reminded of the importance of living fully, loving deeply, and being present with the people who matter most.Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make our stories count!Support the showThank you for lending your time to The Soul Goals today!

S3EP28 | Why Acceptance Is So Hard (and Why It Changes Everything)

Send us Fan MailAcceptance isn’t always easy, but it might be exactly what we need. This week, I’m joined by Katie and Ivy from Toxic Waste of Time podcast for an engaging deep dive into acceptance, the kind that sounds simple until you actually try to do it. We talk about what it really means to accept yourself, other people, and the curveballs life keeps throwing your way (uninvited, of course). Along the way, we share stories, a few hard-earned lessons, and some laughs about the messy middle between resisting everything and finally finding a little peace. It’s thoughtful, honest, and a reminder that acceptance isn’t about giving up, it’s about making space for something better.Give it a listen…you might find acceptance isn’t as out of reach as it feels.Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make your story count!Support the showThank you for lending your time to The Soul Goals today!

S3EP27 | The Missing Piece in a Full Life: Serving Your Community

Send us Fan MailWhat does it actually mean to serve your community, and why is it such an essential part of living a full and meaningful life?Bryan Neely joins the podcast to share his perspective on service what it looks like in real life, why it matters, and how anyone can start right where they are. Drawing from his experiences as a Navy veteran, DEKA World Champion, endurance athlete, entrepreneur, and author of "Mile 17" and "Embrace Your Roarrr", Bryan reflects on how his definition of service has evolved over time. From honoring others in the military to creating spaces for connection through his Mt. Juliet–based Billy Goat Coffee Cafe, his focus has become grounded in making a real impact on the people around him: showing up for something bigger than yourself and building a life rooted in gratitude and love.Bryan gets honest about what service actually requires: consistency, humility, and the willingness to show up even when there’s no recognition. He talks about why he believes leadership begins with serving others first, how small daily actions can strengthen an entire community, and what often keeps people from getting involved at all. The conversation challenges the idea that service has to be large or visible, reframing it instead as a responsibility we all carry in our everyday lives.Bryan’s life is a reminder that real strength isn’t just built through competition or accomplishment, but through a steady commitment to serving the people right in front of you. Service isn’t measured by recognition or scale, but in the small, consistent ways you choose to show up for others. Strip away the titles and achievements, and what remains is the impact you leave behind in the people around you.Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make your story count!Support the showThank you for lending your time to The Soul Goals today!

S3EP26 | The Gift of Aging: Looking for The Miracles and Rethinking How We Heal

Send us Fan MailHealing doesn’t always start with doing more...it often begins with seeing differently. In this episode, I sit down with Marilyn Jenkins of Be Happy Nation for a warm, down-to-earth conversation about what it really means to support your body instead of constantly working against it. Marilyn shares her belief that when we begin to “find the miracles,” we start to recognize just how capable our bodies are of healing, especially when we shift our environment, our mindset, and lean into a more holistic way of living. We also dive into Marilyn’s personal story and the experiences that shaped her philosophy around health, including the often-overlooked role of surrender and trusting the body to do what it was designed to do. She talks about her perspective on supplements as supportive tools, something that can work alongside the body’s natural processes rather than replace them.In a world overflowing with health advice, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or even disconnected from your own body. This conversation brings things back to center. Marilyn offers a grounded, hopeful lens on how to tune out the noise, reconnect with yourself, and rediscover what your body is truly capable of. At its core, this episode is an invitation to see transformation not as a struggle, but as a real and available possibility.Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make your story count!Support the showThank you for lending your time to The Soul Goals today!

S3EP22 | The Courage of Trying Again: Why Choice Matters

Send us Fan Mail“What you’re not changing, you’re choosing.”Successful gymnastics coach and business owner Ginger Raines captures it perfectly. Change can feel overwhelming, especially when we’re caught in cycles of self-doubt. In those moments, we often find ourselves choosing the harder path, the one that keeps us stuck and disconnected from the strengths already within us.But growth begins the moment we decide to rise, reset, and try again. In this conversation, Ginger shares the courage it takes to move forward after failure, disappointment, or doubt. When life doesn’t go as planned, it can leave us carrying emotional weight. The power, as Ginger reminds us, lies in what we choose to do with it. Through her own experiences, and the ones she witnesses every day, she’s seen firsthand how resilience is built, not given.Ginger’s perspective is rooted in honest self-work and a deep understanding of the balance between humility and confidence. It’s a balance she not only lives by, but instills in her athletes.Life will always bring setbacks alongside new beginnings. More often than not, we find ourselves standing at the edge of a choice. When we embrace that truth, we unlock the resilience to move forward, recommit to our path, and reimagine what’s possible.Because trying again isn’t weakness...it’s an act of profound self-trust.Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make your story count!Support the showThank you for lending your time to The Soul Goals today!

    Soul Goal #39: It's A Flex

Send us Fan MailThe beginning is the most important part of the work. - PlatoThere’s truth in that statement on many topics but especially, it seems, when it comes to exercise.  This week, we put our motivation to-the-test in committing to exercise each day in some capacity, big or small.  Truth be known?  Even a short amount of time and the most basic movement can count.  Don’t let your brain trick you in to believing otherwise!Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make our stories count!Support the showThank you for lending your time to The Soul Goals today!

Soul Goal #38: Finish The Phrase

Send us Fan MailI remember the first time a therapist told me “let’s try to work through some affirmations regarding this piece of work.  My response?  Ummmmm, not sure that’s really for me.  But when I put aside my hesitations and finally dug in to the process, a week in to the work and lo-and-behold, it actually alleviated a piece of anxiety for me.  The writing of the personalized phrases I had created alongside my therapy-group girls was cathartic by day 5.  It helped me feel a deeper sense of peace for myself and gave me some space in my brain for knowing that I, too, deserved to have relief from the old scripts I continued to play. Affirmations can be hard to commit to but are definitely a productive part of building self confidence and uncovering the true YOU.  Putting pen to paper in this way can help rewire your mindset, boost self-belief, and shift your daily focus toward growth and positivity, a huge win in the daily battle for inner peace.Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make our stories count!Support the showThank you for lending your time to The Soul Goals today!

Soul Goal #35: Have The Talk

Send us Fan MailEver met those folks that seem to have a knack for conversation?  Those that aren’t afraid to have a start-up talk with most anyone?   This week, I took a page out of my own hubby’s playbook and did the uncomfortable-for-me, striking up conversations with strangers that I felt led to.  With my husband guesting on the pod this week, he graciously explains his “why” and the benefits and incredible insights he’s gained from reaching out to others in this simple-yet-sometimes-challenging way.  Whether it’s a quick chat with someone in line for coffee or a deeper exchange with a new face at an event, these moments can lead to unexpected perspective shifts, friendships, and even life-changing opportunities.  Connection is definitely closer than we many times give it credit for!Everyone has a story, and every story matters; let's make our stories count!Support the showThank you for lending your time to The Soul Goals today!
