#14 - Pain, Suffering, and Losing our Senses

In this episode, Terry shares and important messsage about his recent death-defying bout with spinal meningitis, which has left him totally deaf. Despite this challenge, he brings profound insights rooted in his Stickman Theology, especially concerning how we process and struggle through trials and tribulations. Terry challenges the common notion of performance-based faith, emphasizing instead the unwavering and steadfast love of God that remains constant through all stages of our lives.  NOTE: We will continue our series on the Seven Deadly Sins in the next episode of our podcast.

#13 - Letting Go of the Fantasy: The 7 Deadly Sins Part 6

How does lust show up in our most intimate relationships, and how do we keep the fantasy from destroying the reality?  In this enlightening, no-holds-barred episode, Terry explains erotic love, the interplay between love and lust, marriage dynamics, the importance of friendship and agape love, and strategies for loving (and living) more fully.

  7. 10

#12 - Love or Lust? The 7 Deadly Sins, Part 5

In this episode, Terry delineates the stark contrast between love, which encompasses intimacy and placing appropriate value on individuals and/or objects, and lust, devoid of intimacy and often accompanied by fantasy. Through familiar examples such as pornography and less conventional instances like parenting and benevolence, Terry illuminates the nuances of these motivations. Additionally, he provides actionable insights for transitioning from a mindset of lust to one grounded in love, underscoring the significance of investment, genuine connection, and an embrace of reality.

    #5 - What is Righteousness? Part 2

Today's episode is part two of our discussion from last week about righteousness.  If you haven't already, go back and listen to episode 4, which is part 1 of this discussion.   In this podcast episode, Terry and Carol discuss the concept of sin and righteousness. They explore the idea of 'missing the mark' and how sin is a concept for good people. They also talk about the importance of letting God love us in the midst of our struggles and temptations. Terry provides two helpful illustrations, "The Ultimate Hypocrite" and "The Lifelong Boxer", which explain how we can practice righteousness in our daily lives. Overall, this episode emphasizes the significance of embracing God's presence and allowing Him to love us.

    #4 - What is Righteousness? Part 1

Today we talk about when Christians struggle....when life gets hard for a believer. Many of us believe that the painful circumstances or the disappointing news in life is a direct result of a  lack of faith, or lack of righteousness, or just simply 'missing it' in God's eyes.   In today's episode, Terry and I talk about the tendency we have to START with grace in our walk with Christ but then PROCEED with a peformance-based theology.  We can't help but measure and compare and look for outward behaviors to prove ourselves worthy.  And it doesn't stop there—we judge everyone in light of this mindset…and we judge ourselves--and we judge God! Good news: there is a different way to do the Christian life.

  16. 1

#3 - What is Stickman Theology? Part 3

In these first few episodes, Terry is introducing us to this Stickman concept and how spiritual maturity is determined by our willingness to depend on Christ for our personal holiness. If you haven't already--make sure you catch up with episodes one and two. In today's episode, Terry is still talking about the armor of God, and hang on, because we will hear the secret for putting ON the armor!  We will talk about the shield of faith, to protect us from accusations against us.  We will also talk about the sword of the spirit --the Word of God.  Next, is the belt of truth--and the importance confession that comes with that truth.  Then we talk about the shoes of the preparation of the Gospel of peace and is it for marching or standing....what do you think?  Listen in and let us know what you think!

#2 - What is Stickman Theology? Part 2

In Part 2 of The Stickman Podcast, we are still introducing the basics of Stickman Theology.  In this episode, Terry begins to talk about the Armor of God. Terry talks about the way we have defined righteousness as equal to our level of performance.  Do you believe that?  Instead of looking at these "spiritual disciplines" as obligatory boxes to check as we pursue Christian maturity, Terry offers a different perspective.

#1 - What is Stickman Theology? Part 1 of 3

Are you ready to let go of the idea that everything in your life will somehow fall into place if you just get your relationship with God right enough, good enough, strong enough?
