The Truth Exchange
by The Truth Exchange
The Truth Exchange is weekly podcast that engages modern issues with a Christ-centered mindset. Join your hosts Dr. Kenneth Bruce and Harper Whitman. Each Monday we release a brand-new episode. Our mission is to ensure that we as Christians cut through cultural confusion with God’s Word.We live in a World that has replaced the truth of God for the lies of this age. We see it every day at work, at the ball field, the grocery store or on any type of social media platform. To the point that many people don’t even recognize God’s truth. So, join us every week as we exchange the lies of this age for God’s truth.

EP 54 Discussing Islam
In today’s episode we’re taking a thoughtful look at Islam—its origins, its core beliefs and practices, and some of the key historical and textual claims often raised in conversation between Muslims and Christians. This is not an episode of caricatures or quick takes. Our goal is understanding: What do Muslims mean by “submission”? What are the Five Pillars and the six articles of faith? How did the Qur’an come to be compiled? By the end, you’ll have a stronger grasp of the basic contours of Islamic belief and history, plus a clearer sense of why certain claims—like the Qur’an’s view of Jesus’ crucifixion—matter so much in interfaith dialogue.

EP 52 How to Pray Correctly
Today we’re talking about prayer: not as a religious routine, not as a last‑minute panic button, but as real communication with the living God. We’ll ask a couple honest questions: Is there a right way to pray? Is there a wrong way to pray? And what does it look like to “pray constantly” in everyday life—before the email, during the commute, in a hard conversation, and even in the quiet moments no one else sees? Join us today as we dig into these topics. In this episode: Psalm 102, Matthew 6:9-13, Romans 8, 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Mark 11, James 4:2-3, Luke 10:2, James 1:6-8.

EP 51 Forgiveness
In today’s episode we are talking about something every one of us runs into sooner or later: forgiveness. Maybe you’re carrying a hurt that won’t loosen its grip. Maybe you’re wrestling with guilt and wondering if you’ve asked God “enough” times. Or maybe you’re trying to figure out how to forgive someone without excusing what happened or pretending it didn’t matter. Today, we’ll anchor in the scriptures and talk about forgiveness as a spiritual act—releasing someone’s debt to God’s justice and reclaiming your peace. We’ll also clarify what forgiveness isn’t: it isn’t forgetting, it isn’t instant trust, and it isn’t the same thing as reconciliation. In this episode: Ephesians 4:32, Romans 5:1, 1 John 1:9, Luke 17:1, Romans 12:19, Matthew 5:23, Matthew 22:37-39, Psalms 139.

And how do Israel and the Church relate within God’s unfolding purposes? Whether you’re convinced of classic dispensationalism, leaning progressive, or coming from a covenantal perspective, our aim is clarity, careful hermeneutics, and charitable conversation—because these topics matter, and the way we handle God’s Word matters even more. In this episode: 2 Corinthians 1:20, Romans 11, Romans 14, Jude 3.

EP 48 Even If
Today we’re diving into a powerful theme that many of us wrestle with but don’t always say out loud—what it means to hold on to faith when life isn’t going the way we hoped. In 2017, the band MercyMe released a song that captured this tension beautifully. Written during a season of struggle, it speaks to the space between believing God can change things and trusting Him even when He doesn’t. It’s easy to have faith when everything is going well. It’s harder when the answers don’t come, when the mountain doesn’t move, and when we’re left standing in the fire. But real faith isn’t about winning every battle—it’s about where we place our hope when we’re losing. In this episode, we’ll talk about faith that endures, trust that remains steady in uncertainty, and the courage it takes to say, even if things don’t change, God is still enough. If you’re walking through a difficult season or questioning what faith looks like right now, this conversation is for you. In this episode: Hebrews 11, Luke 9:23, Philippians 1:21, Romans 8:29, Habakkuk 3.

EP 45 Defeating the Devil's Schemes
In a world filled with noise, confusion, and constant pressure, many of us sense that the real battles we face go deeper than what we can see. Scripture reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against unseen spiritual forces that seek to deceive, accuse, and pull us away from the truth. The Bible warns us to stay alert—because our adversary prowls like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. But it also gives us hope, clarity, and a strategy. God has not left His people defenseless. In this podcast, we’ll explore the devil’s schemes—how deception, accusation, and temptation operate in everyday life—and, more importantly, how believers can stand firm. We’ll talk about what it means to put on the full armor of God: to walk in truth and righteousness, to raise the shield of faith, to wield the Word of God, and to live a life anchored in prayer. In this episode: 1 Peter 5:6-8, 2 Corinthians 4:4, Colossians 2:15, Jermiah 3, Romans 10:13, 2 Corinthians 10:5, Ephesians 6:11-18, 1 John 4:4, 1 John 1:9.

EP 44 Never To Far Gone
The apostle Paul reminds us that the enemy blinds the minds of unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel—the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. But the same God who once said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” still shines today—revealing His glory in the face of Jesus. In this episode, we’ll talk about that light… and about the heart. The Bible describes the heart as the center of who we are—the place where our thoughts, desires, faith, joy, and even our words are formed. And it also warns us of something sobering: when sin goes unconfessed, the heart can grow hard. Over time, it becomes desensitized, even unable to recognize truth. We’ll reflect on the danger of willful sin, the hope found in confession, and the power of persistent prayer—like praying for a wayward friend for decades, trusting that one day God may finally turn on the light. Because if salvation is truly a miracle of God, then no prayer is wasted—and no heart is beyond His reach. In this episode: 2 Peter 2:14, Jude verse 6, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Timothy 1:16, Psalm 19:13, 1 Corinthians 1:4, Romans 5:20.

We’ll unpack what it means to be a Mormon, the concept of progressing toward godhood, and the church’s view on grace, effort, and saving ordinances. EP 40 The Thief On The Cross
Welcome to today’s episode, where we explore one of the most powerful moments of grace and redemption in the Bible—the story of the thief on the cross, found in Luke 23:39-43. As Jesus hung between two criminals, a remarkable exchange unfolded: one mocked, but the other, in his final moments, reached out in faith and was promised paradise. This story isn’t just about a dramatic last-minute transformation; it’s a profound lesson in hope, faith, and the boundless nature of forgiveness. We’ll dive into how this encounter shows that no one is ever beyond redemption, that true belief can arise even in the darkest circumstances, and that courage sometimes means standing alone for what’s right. Most importantly, we’ll reflect on how salvation is a gift—offered not because of our deeds, but through faith and grace. In this episode: Luke 23:39-43, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Corinthians 5:8.

EP 39 Faith Without Works is Dead
Welcome to today’s episode, where we dive into one of the most thought-provoking phrases from the New Testament: “Faith without works is dead.” This powerful statement, found in James 2:17, challenges us to consider whether belief alone is enough, or if true faith must be accompanied by tangible actions. We’ll explore the scriptural foundation of this idea, starting with James’ direct question: “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?” The conversation doesn’t stop there—Ephesians 2:8-10 reminds us that while we are saved by grace through faith, we are also created for good works, prepared in advance for us to do. In this episode: James 2:14-26, 2 Corinthians 10:5, John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-10, Matthew 7:22-23, Titus 3:5, Philippians 2.

EP 8 Love Your Neighbor As Yourself
The phrase "Love your neighbor as yourself" originates from Leviticus 19:18 in the Bible and emphasizes the importance of treating others with the same care and respect that one would wish for oneself. Anyone who does not have a personal relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ will die in his sins and face eternity in hell. We owe it to our neighbors to lovingly share with them the good news of the gospel. True believers have been forgiven, possess eternal life, and have blessings forever as the result of others who have shared the gospel with them. God’s love is evidenced in us as we communicate the gospel and love others as we have been loved. In this episode: Matthew 22:37-40, 1 Corinthians 13:6, Romans 1:32, Matthew 19:1-6, Romans 6:23, John 8:1-11, Luke 15:11-32, Galatians 5:14, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

EP 7 The Love of God
Many times, when we talk to people about God’s love, their response seems to resemble human love more than God’s love. Unlike human love, God’s love is sacrificial, perfect and leads to life. The bible tells us to “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This type of love leads us to love others as God loves us. We see an example of Gods love in John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” Join us as we discuss God’s love and how it can change our lives. In this episode: Deuteronomy 6:4-5, Romans 5:8, Matthew 22:37, 2 Corinthians 4:4, Isaiah 55, John 3:16.
