From Striving to Abiding: Building with God, Not for God

In this episode, we’re diving deeper into the difference between striving and abiding. So often, without even realizing it, we approach God like we approach broken or conditional relationships feeling like we have to prove our worth, earn His love, or do enough to keep Him close. But the truth is, His love is unconditional, and when we learn to abide in Him, the fruit of the Spirit begins to flow naturally through our lives (Galatians 5:22–23).We’ll also continue our walk through Nehemiah 2–3, where we see how God provides more than we even ask for, how opposition rises when the work of God begins, and how unity among God’s people brings His plans to life. And don’t miss the new segments! ☕ Coffee Break with Tracie (a heart-to-heart moment of what God’s been showing me) and ✨ Mirror Moments (reflection and journal prompts to carry with you through the week).⸻📒 Show Notes • Coffee Break with Tracy: Striving vs. abiding learning to rest in God’s love instead of trying to earn it. • Scripture Focus: Galatians 5:22–23, Nehemiah 2:9–20, Nehemiah 3. • Key Themes: • Abiding produces fruit; striving leaves us empty. • God provides abundantly more than we ask. • Opposition often rises when God’s plans are in motion. • Unity among believers builds what one person cannot. • Mirror Moments (Reflection): 1. Am I striving to earn God’s love, or abiding in the truth that I already have it? 2. Where have I seen God provide more than I asked for in my life? 3. In what ways can I join others in unity to build what God has put His hand on?

    Search My Heart..

In this honest and soul-searching episode, I share how difficult it was to even show up and press record not because I didn’t want to, but because of the inner work God has been doing in me lately.I’ve been praying a simple but dangerous prayer: “Lord, search my heart.” And when I tell you… He’s been answering it. Through scripture, reflection, and personal testimony, I talk about what it means to let God expose what’s really in our hearts — especially in seasons of pruning and pressure. We’ll walk through passages like Jeremiah 17:9, Genesis 6:5, and John 15, and unpack how the Word of God reveals the truth about our hearts, how deceit can take root, and why pruning is not punishment it’s preparation for more fruit.Even in the midst of new beginnings …launching this podcast, speaking at my first women’s conference, and walking through doors I prayed for God has been pruning me. And maybe He’s pruning you too. This episode is for the one who’s showing up tired, unsure, or questioning what God is doing behind the scenes. Don’t worry …He’s working.🔑 Key Scriptures: • Jeremiah 17:9 (NKJV) — “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” • Genesis 6:5 — Every intent of the human heart was evil continually • John 15:2 — “Every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” • James 1:2-4 — Let endurance have its perfect work • Hebrews 4:15 — We do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with us • Galatians 6:9 — “Do not grow weary in well doing…”✨ In This Episode: • Why it was hard for me to show up and record this week • What it really means to ask God to “search your heart” • How pruning can come after the fruit • Why success and new beginnings don’t cancel out spiritual refining • A breakdown of what scripture teaches us about the heart • Encouragement to keep going even when you’re tired💭 Reflection Questions: • What has God been revealing about your heart lately? • Have you been in a season of pruning, even while walking in answered prayers? • Are you willing to let God reveal what’s hidden not to condemn you, but to heal you?📌 Episode Challenge:Spend time this week praying Psalm 139:23-24 —“Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”Write down what He shows you. Don’t be afraid of the exposure — it’s the first step to transformation.

Check Your Soil: When the Heart Needs Tending

In this episode, I’m fresh off a powerful weekend at a women’s conference and feeling stretched, grateful, and humbled. As I came down from the emotional high, God reminded me of something important: the heart still needs tending. So today, we’re diving into Luke 8:11–15 the parable of the sower, and talking through the different heart postures Jesus lays out. From hardened soil to thorny distractions, we walk through what each one looks like and why it’s so important to regularly pause and ask:“God, what’s really going on in my heart?”I also share the story of the Rich Young Ruler as a reminder that good intentions aren’t enough — the soil has to be ready. This one’s honest, weighty, and reflective, but my prayer is that it stirs you to slow down and do the work of searching your own heart.🔁 Scripture: Luke 8:11–15, Psalm 139:23–24🌱 Challenge: Ask God to search your heart and show you what needs to be uprooted so His Word can take root.

Tracie walks through how the mind and the heart work together to shape our beliefs, identity, and behaviors. If the mind is the gate, the heart is the garden. What you allow through your thoughts will eventually grow roots in your heart, whether truth or lies. This episode is a heart check, a thought reset, and an invitation to ask God, “What’s growing in me that You never planted?”Back-to-school season may be hectic, but God is still in the details of our inner life.
