What is Vodou?
I grew up being told Vodou was evil—something to fear, something to stay away from. But no one ever really explained what it was.In this first episode, I start by confronting the myths. From cartoons to political commentary, I unpack how Vodou has been portrayed in media—and how those images shaped the way Haitians, including my own family, understand it.Through an honest conversation with my mother, I begin to trace where that fear comes from, and ask a simple question: what if everything I was taught about Vodou is wrong?
