The Way

This is a Spirit led podcast based from our foundational text John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” On this platform we will discuss our life journeys with you and how Jesus is leading us through Him. This is a vulnerable and safe space for us so our hope is to make it safe for you to be vulnerable as well. In Acts, Paul talks about Jesus’s followers belonging to the Way. Our intent for this podcast is to exemplify what it looks like to follow Christ and live THE WAY He calls us to live.

    Romans 8

In this episode I will be discussing Romans chapter 8 in its entirety. This is a chapter that I have read many times throughout my walk with Christ especially during times of suffering. This chapter is full of encouragement for the believer as well as truths of living a life surrendered to the Spirit of God versus living a life surrendered to the flesh. I hope you enjoy. Scriptures referenced: Romans 8, Isaiah 64:6, Romans 6:23, Matthew 16:24, 1 John 3:6-10, Galatians 5:19-26, Matthew 22:14, Romans 10:9-10, Proverbs 4:23, James 2:26

    Seeking God- Testimony

In this episode, I walk you all through the beginning stages of me resubmitting my life to Jesus. I unwrap how God truly revealed himself to me and stripped the veil from my eyes. He gave me identity and a foundation that can never be swayed. I go through many scriptures in this testimonial. Follow along!

    The Two Greatest Commandments

In Matthew 22:36-40 Jesus states “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Love is such a powerful word that if we’re honest is sometimes thrown around too loosely. It is only because God first loved us that we are able to extend love to others and all that we do should flow from that foundation of God’s love. It is stated in the Bible that the world will know we are Jesus’s disciples by how we love one another. In this episode I will dive into Matthew 22:36-40 along with supporting verses to take a deeper look at what it means to love God and love your neighbor. It is so easy to say that we love God and our neighbor, but are we living a life that supports that statement?

  4. 22

    Trust in the Lord

Trust in the Lord is easy to say, but sometimes difficult to do. Sometimes we want to think that we are trusting God but if we really take a moment and look at our lives, we’re actually depending on our own strength to see us through. Often times it takes more strength to actually let go and let God than it does to continue to fight the battle on our own. In this episode I will discuss some of the traits of Jesus that make Him trustworthy and paint a picture of what it looks like to trust Him. What He is truly looking for is not the strength of our fight, but the strength of our surrender. I hope you enjoy this episode.

    Obedience is Better than Sacrifice

1 Samuel 15 tells us the Lord delights in obedience more than sacrifice. Sometimes we try to use our works to bring us favor when all the Lord is asking for is obedience. It’s obedience that opens doors and with that same thought in mind, it’s disobedience that can keep them closed. The Lord is looking for a remnant with His commands written on their heart. Yes we will fall short, but do you have a heart posture that wants to follow the Lord? This is the topic for today’s episode. Scriptures referenced: 1 Samuel 15: 13-23, Proverbs 3:5-6, Philippians 2:12-13, John 14:15, Matthew 7:21-23, Proverbs 15:33, Proverbs 16:1-3, Proverbs 16:20, Hebrews 4:1-2, 1 John 2:3-6

  6. 20

    Psalm 23

In this episode I will be discussing Psalm 23. This is a psalm of David that speaks about going through life with the Lord as your Shepherd. A shepherd leads and guides, tends and cares for, and searches and rescues for his sheep. He leads them to food and water sources and ensures that they have all that they need. In Christ we have all that we need and when we have Him as our Shepherd we truly lack nothing, Psalm 23:1 NIV. The question we have to ask ourselves is are we truly letting Him be our Shepherd or are we trying to lead our lives our own way. Let’s talk about it.

  7. 19

    The Ten Commandments

Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22: 37-40. The Ten Commandments were given to the Israelites to establish a covenant with them and God under the Law. Jesus came not to undo the original covenant but to establish a new covenant where He already paid the price for our sins and gave us direct access to God. Jesus takes the Ten Commandments and takes them a step further not only requiring obedience with our actions but creating in us a heart that follows.

    The Waiting Season Part 2

This is an extended conversation about how we are waiting for a promise from God. Are you waiting without grumbling and allowing God to check your heart? In the story of Moses and when he lead the Israelites out of Egypt, the Israelites did not have a deep reverence for God and they waited in the wilderness for 40 years and it really should have only taken 11 days. A lot of times we don’t understand how God is answering our prayer or when He will do it but we have to position our hearts to trust Him even when it doesn’t look like we want it to look.

  9. 17

    The Waiting Season Part 1

In this episode we will be discussing the waiting season. It can be so hard to wait for God’s promises to manifest in our lives and if we aren’t careful the promise can become the focus instead of the Promise Keeper. In this episode we discuss what the Bible says about waiting on God and share some testimonies of our own. It is in the waiting season that God is refining us and preparing us to steward all that He has for us. This is part 1 of this discussion and we will discuss part 2 in the next episode. We hope you enjoy!

  10. 16

    Change of Heart

In this episode we are discussing heart posture. Man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart -1 Samuel 16:7. When we truly choose to follow Christ, He changes our heart. We go from having a heart of stone that is hardened, to a heart of flesh that is soft. We go from loving the things of this world to truly loving God with all of our heart. In this episode we dive into what the word says about the transformation our heart goes through in following Christ and give testimony of some of our own experiences. We all have to check our hearts from time to time and ask ourselves are we really loving God the way we should? We hope you enjoy! Scriptures referenced: Luke 19:5-9, Luke 18:9-14, Luke 12:27-31, Proverbs 18:21, Proverbs 17:28, James 1:19, Proverbs 4:23, Luke 6:45, Ezekiel 11:17-21, Matthew 13:3-8, 13:14-15, 13:18-23, Psalm 51:10

  11. 15

    Forgiveness

In this episode we will be discussing forgiveness. Forgiveness is a gift our Heavenly Father so freely gives us, yet it’s often so difficult for us to give it to each other. I think we often forget just how much we desperately need to be forgiven and how we fall short each day and that makes it more difficult to extend that grace to others. We dive into what the word says about forgiveness and give testimony of ways that we have had to forgive in our own lives. Of course none of us are perfect but we should all strive to love one another as Jesus has loved us.

  12. 14

The Power of Reading Your Bible

In this episode we have the pleasure of speaking with Keyshod Baker. He was so gracious to share his testimony with us and his journey with Christ. One of the central points mentioned in this episode is this importance of consistency in reading your bible and the transformative power of the Word. We hope you enjoy and thanks so much for listening!

  13. 13

    Who is Jesus?

In this episode we discuss a question that a family friend brought up…who is Jesus? It occurred to us that there may be many other people who don’t really know the gospel and who Jesus is. Sometimes we just need to get back to the basics to truly understand and grow in our relationship with our Lord and Savior. While we would never be able to cover everything that Jesus is to us in the length of an episode, we dive into what the Bible says about Jesus and how He rescued us. Isaiah 9:6 says that He is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. He is all of those things plus so much more and the most important relationship you can have in this life is a relationship with Jesus Christ.

  14. 12

    In the Storm

In this episode we discuss being in the storm and relying on God during those difficult times. We give specific examples of recent storms that we have been through and the ways God has shown up for us. It is important to keep your eyes on Jesus during the storm even when it may feel like He is not working, trust that He is always working. No season with God is wasted and there is something to learn from the storm.

  15. 11

    Armor of God

In this episode we discuss putting on the full armor of God, not for if the day of trouble comes, but for when the day of trouble comes. Jesus tells us in John 16:33 that in this world we will have trouble, but assures us that He has overcome the world. It is in Him that we have victory. Each piece of the armor of God is equally important and we as disciples of Christ are called to put on the full armor. It is only then that we can withstand spiritual warfare from the enemy.

  16. 10

    Sweep Your House

In this episode we dive into Luke chapter 11 and discuss the Lord’s Prayer and how unclean spirits may be hindering your walk with God. Sometimes we need deliverance from things that have been keeping us bound to fully walk into all that God has for us and not look back. We also briefly discuss putting on the full armor of God to defend against the schemes of the enemy. We hope you enjoy this episode.

  17. 9

    Crooked to Straight

Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight. In this episode we will be talking about what it looks like to surrender to God and how surrendering to Him will make your crooked path straight. We give testimony of things we have had to surrender in our walk with God and how that has changed our lives for the better. Ultimately, it comes down to trusting Him enough to lead your life and surrendering everything to Him.

  18. 8

Faith and Hearing From God Testimony

We have the pleasure of speaking with Ms. Sylvia Love on this episode. She was so gracious to share her testimony with us and outline her walk with God. She has a true testimony of what it looks like to hear from God and have faith to follow Him wherever He leads. Even through life’s trials He is always faithful. We truly thank her for giving her yes and sharing her testimony. We hope it can be an inspiration to all who hear it.

  19. 7

    Faith and Hearing from God

Do you feel like you struggle to hear from God? In this episode we will be discussing how it takes faith to hear from God and some of the specific ways that we hear from Him. God speaks to us all in unique ways, but it is up to us to be aligned with Him and His will for our lives to hear from Him clearly. He will always direct your paths, but do you have the faith to follow where He leads?

  20. 6

    Kingdom Marriage

In this episode, we dive into what the Word says about marriage and how each person plays an important part in God's original design for it. Looking through scripture, we see what key roles each spouse has to exemplify Christ in marriage.

  21. 5

    Dating the Kingdom Way

Relationships can assist us in our walk with Christ or they can be detrimental and keep us bound. It is crucial for us to recognize that the enemy often uses relationships as a distraction to keep us from reaching our purpose. In this episode we discuss dating the kingdom way and letting God heal us in our singleness. Our relationship with Jesus is the most important relationship and it is only out of that relationship that others can flourish.

  22. 4

    Pain on Purpose

Have you experienced pain in this life? Whether it be emotional pain, trauma, or physical pain. Everyone experiences pain because we live in a fallen world, but God can use that pain as a part of our purpose! It helps mold and shape us into who God has called us to be. In this episode, we dive into how God uses pain and give testimony of some of the things we have experienced in our lives. So listen in for a word today!

  23. 3

    Saved Through Relationship

In this episode, we dive into what it really means to be saved. The world will tell you if you just believe in God, you will go to Heaven.. but do we really know what the word “believe” actually means? Take a listen to how forming a relationship with Jesus can change your life. A life that has true meaning and purpose. Love you family!

  24. 2

    What’s Keeping You?

What is keeping you from surrendering your worries, anxiety, stress, and many other things to Jesus? It could be a number of things such as unhealthy patterns (that you may not even recognize), unhealthy relationships, fear of judgement, and many more! We have nothing but good news for you though. Check out our story.

  25. 1

Awake in a World That’s Sleeping

How is your walk with Christ? Are you able to fully be yourself and also accept the non believers around you? Take a listen to this. Dayla and I want to show you that you can 100% encourage the people you love and continue to intercede for them because God answers prayers!Correction to scripture that was referenced. Galatians 6:9, Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. NIV
