by Lizzie Pickles
Welcome to The Weekly Pulse. A contemplative podcast from Verena's Soul Radiance. Each week Lizzie shares reflections on the Gene Keys Weekly Pulse, exploring the movement from shadow to gift through lived experience, gentle awareness, and contemplation. Created by Richard Rudd, the Gene Keys offer a way of understanding ourselves more honestly and meeting life with deeper awareness. In this podcast, Lizzie shares grounded reflections on the Gene Key moving through the week, how its themes may show up in everyday life, and a gentle question to contemplate as the week unfolds. Have you ever felt like nothing is wrong… but something just feels off?In this bite-sized episode, we explore the energy of Gene Key 2 — the movement from Dislocation to Orientation — and how it can show up as second-guessing, questioning your path, or looking outside yourself for direction.Through a personal reflection, I share how this has shown up in my own life and business, and the subtle shift that brings you back into alignment.A gentle invitation to pause, soften, and reconnect to your own inner guidance. This episode is perfect if you’ve been feeling uncertain, disconnected, or questioning whether you’re on the right path.

Gene Key 24 - The Loop Isn’t the Problem
As we move into Gene Key 24, this episode explores the mental loops and patterns we return to, often unconsciously. The shadow of Addiction isn’t just about substances, but the subtle ways we distract, overthink, and avoid what’s beneath the surface.Through reflection, we begin to see that the loop isn’t something to fight… but something to understand.Because within it lies the gift of Invention—a new way of being with ourselves.

The Name I Hid (and Why I Came Back to It)
This week’s episode is a little more personal.I’m sharing the story behind Verena’s Soul Radiance — a name I was given at birth, let go of for many years, and eventually found my way back to.From growing up between Germany and England, to learning how to make myself smaller to fit in… to rediscovering my voice through the Gene Keys, poetry, and self-inquiry.This isn’t just a name. It’s a return. And maybe, as you listen, you’ll recognise parts of your own story in it too.

Gene Key 27: The Way We Give… And Where We Lose Ourselves
This week, we move into the energy of Gene Key 27 — The Nourisher. This is a deeply human theme…Because it asks us to look at the way we give, the way we care, and the subtle ways we can lose ourselves in that. The shadow here is Selfishness — not in the way we might think, but as a survival pattern rooted in the fear that there won’t be enough. And from that place… our giving can become distorted.Sometimes we withhold. And other times… we overgive. We say yes when we’re already tired. We keep showing up when we need rest. We give from guilt, obligation, or the fear of disappointing others. And over time… that can lead to depletion, resentment, and feeling unseen. In this episode, we explore the shift from giving from fear… to giving from fullness.Because real nourishment includes you too.💫 Reflection for this week:Where did I say yes… when I meant no?Where am I giving… hoping something will come back?Where am I calling it kindness… but it actually feels heavy? What would it look like to let myself be nourished too?New episodes drop weekly as we move through the Gene Keys.

Gene Key 42: When Nothing Ever Feels Quite Enough
This week, we move into Gene Key 42…exploring the shadow of expectation, the gift of detachment, and the energy of celebration.Expectation can be a quiet pressure in the background…that sense that things should be different by now.Waiting for life to line up…for things to feel right…for something to finally shift. And in that space…it’s easy to feel like you’re not quite where you should be.⟡I’d love to hear what this brings up for you.⟡With thanks to Richard Rudd and his team for the inspiration for this podcast. You can explore more at genekeys.com

Gene Key 51: The Moment Something in You Says Move
This week’s Weekly Pulse moves us into Gene Key 51…exploring the shift from Agitation… to Initiative… and into Awakening. In this episode, we look at how this energy might show up in real life…as restlessness, disruption, or that subtle sense that something is no longer sitting quite the same. Not always comfortable…but often the very thing that stirs something new into motion. This is the kind of energy that doesn’t always arrive gently. It can feel abrupt… activating… even a little confronting at times. But within that agitation, there’s often an impulse…a moment that invites you to move differently. To say something you might usually hold back.To take a step before you feel fully ready. To follow something that doesn’t yet make logical sense. We explore how initiative doesn’t always look confident or certain…but often begins in those small, honest moments where you choose to trust yourself. And how, over time, those moments begin to shift something deeper…opening the door to a quieter kind of awakening. This isn’t about getting it right.Just noticing what’s being stirred…and what might be asking to move.If you feel called, I’d love to hear what you notice for yourself this week. With thanks to Richard Rudd and the Gene Keys for the inspiration behind the Weekly PulseMy Website Mentioned in this episode:The Weekly Pulse by Verena's Soul RadianceThe Weekly Pulse by Verena's Soul Radiance
