She commented that she thought all of her friends with kids were sad, miserable people. As parents we decided to share how incredibly wrong she really is. It wasn't that hard for us, and we don't think it will be that hard for any parent to see how confused the younger generation can be sometimes. They have grown up in a world where they are being told constantly having kids ends your life and your opportunities. Today we discussed some really happy news. Elon Musk and SpaceX brought home 2 astronauts that have been stranded in space for 9 months. Everyone should be celebrating. Even though this resolution has already passed the house, it hadn't gone through the senate yet. When we recorded this episode they were apparently voting on it. Our opinions are the same and still apply to what is happening in the government. Today we discussed the continuing resolution and the impending government shut down if the senate doesn’t approve by Friday. Just like every 4 months or so, we have reached our debt ceiling and need more money to avoid a government shut down. Today we got a little fired up. Nothing makes a mother madder than telling her she doesn’t have a right to know what is going on in her kids’ life. That is exactly what the state of MA is telling parents whose children are gender transitioning to in school. This decision was held up by the lower courts in the state and will likely head all the way to the Supreme Court. We also got into another article that went through the possible implications for those in the LGBTQ community. Today we discussed an upcoming plan to create a Citizenship system that will allow people to come into the United States in exchange for five million dollars. As former service members, we have a unique perspective on this issue. The military is a place where a bunch of individuals become a cohesive unit with one goal and that is to become the world’s most lethal fighting force. There is big news coming out of the FDA. Red dye #3 will soon be banned for use in food products in the US. We discussed how this will affect the future of processed food. We also talked a bit about how the FDA and food makers handle the approval process for new additives in our food. Lastly, we discussed some of the changes RFK plans to bring to the Department of Health and Human Services and his role in the incoming Trump presidency. The banning of red dye #3 is a great first step but there is still much to be done to make our food better.One thing we forgot to mention during the episode is our love of Aldi. One of the reasons we feel better shopping there is they stopped using synthetic dyes back in 2015. We also discussed the possible downsides to Education Savings Accounts and if the goods out way the bads for school choice. Today, we discussed whether or not we believe Trump is trolling or serious about acquiring Greenland, The Panama Canal, and Greenland. We laid out the possible advantages and disadvantages of each. We also discussed our belief that our incoming president should be a little more serious this time around. And maybe stay off social media while he works out solutions to problems he can actually solve instead of constantly goading the left into making fun of him. We talked about the ramifications of whether this new plan will be good for the city or if it will force people who can’t afford the fee into the unsafe subway system where there has been a lot of violence in recent years.
