The Bible has been the most influential book in history, but it has also been misunderstood, misinterpreted, and even used for the agenda of people who did not have the heart of God or were a product of their times. Regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey or what doubts you might have, I believe God will reveal Himself to you.So join me in an experiment!1. Pray: "God, if you are real, show me who you are." Or "God, I need help to believe in you."2. Read one chapter.3. Listen to the podcast of that chapter.4. Journal what you sense God is showing you.

Acts 4 - Are You Willing to Be Bold?
Acts 4 - Are You Willing to Be Bold? Peter and John are under arrest and face the same religious leaders who rallied the people and negotiated with the Roman leaders to execute Jesus. Even though they were quick to abandon Jesus when he was arrested and being crucified, these men are not the same. They have seen Jesus alive and now have the Holy Spirit! The religious leaders cannot deny the miracle they witnessed so they question Peter and John who once again point to the power of Jesus as the one who heals AND they invite the religious leaders and all those listening to follow Him. The message of Jesus includes all including those who had him crucified! The people knew these men had been with Jesus, and they were not going to stop telling people about Jesus regardless of the risk. When Peter and John join up with the community of Christ-followers praises God, prays for more boldness, and continues to live with boldness and generosity.#faith #newtestament #faith #spirituality #jesus #acts #mission #outreach #witnessing #boldness

Acts 3 - Who Needs to Hear Your Story?
Acts 3 - Who Needs to Hear Your Story? with Ricky Echeona, Campus Pastor of Gateway Buda In Acts 3 we see Peter and John encounter a man lame from birth. Peter miraculously calls this man up and God heals him. Everyone around the temple is amazed and it gathers a crowd. Peter proceeds to preach the good news of Jesus Christ. Your life is telling a story. If you’re following Jesus and He is transforming you that is the miracle. Share the story of what he has done and what he is doing in your life to those around you and watch how God uses it. #newtestament #faith #jesus #spirituality #christianity #christian #outreach #bless #acts

Acts 2 - Are You Experiencing Life-Giving Community?
Acts 2 - Are You Experiencing Life-Giving Community? The promised Holy Spirit comes with fire much like the burning bush or the pillar of fire of God’s presence during the Exodus.Miraculously the disciples can communicate in the languages of the Jews who came from all across the world for the Jewish holiday of Pentecost. Peter explains the disciples are not drunk as some suspected, they are filled with the Holy Spirit. He then shares with the crowd the work of God in the history of Israel and through the Messiah, Jesus.3000 choose to follow Jesus! Not only that but the followers of Jesus live out their faith in community. They spend time together in the Scriptures, in worship, in prayer, sharing meals, and living generously. Something remarkable happens - every day more people choose to follow Jesus!#newtestament #faith #jesus #spirituality #christianity #bless #mission #christian

Acts 1 - Are You Willing to Wait on God?
Acts 1 - Are You Willing to Wait on God?The doctor Luke continues his narrative to Theophilos. He focused on Jesus in The Gospel of Luke. Now he focuses on the spread of the message of Jesus through His disciples from Jerusalem to Judea to Samaria and to the ends of the earth! After 40 days of teaching them after the resurrection of the dead, Jesus ascends to the right hand of the Father where He rules over the Kingdom of God which is advancing life by life through faith, hope, and love.Matthias is chosen as the replacement for Judas. We don't hear much about him after this, but church history tells us that he was one of those who traveled the world to proclaim the message of Jesus along with the rest of the apostles and the early church.#newtestament #spirituality #faith #jesus #bless #outreach #mission #christianity #starthere

Acts - The B.L.E.S.S. Challenge
The BLESS Challenge includes connecting with God through the Book of Acts and looking for ways to love, serve, and BLESS others.1. Read through ActsPray: “God, show me what you have for me today.”Read the chapter.Listen to the Spirit of God as you read. You may have thoughts that are from him on ways to apply what you are reading or questions to dive into more.Watch the video devotional from the Gateway Leaders.Write down how you sense God wants you to apply what you read in the comments or in your journal.2. BLESS others Ask for wisdom on how to BLESS your family, neighbors, co-workers, friends, and even the strangers God might bring into your life.BLESS is an acronym for reaching out to a specific person. Come up with 2 or 3 that you know who do not follow Jesus. Then…Begin with prayer - try to pray for them dailyListen - look for opportunities to hear how to be praying for them and even express that to them when the time is rightEngage - spend time with them. Share a meal. Invite them over.Serve - look for ways to help them as you might discover specific ways to do that in your conversations or in your time praying for them.Share your story - after hearing their story, they are far more likely to be willing to hear your story of finding faith.God may also lead you to ask your waitress how you can pray for her, buy a coffee for a stranger at Starbucks, pray for healing for a person at the store, share your faith with the telemarketer, and so on! Just let God guide you!For more, check out the book B.L.E.S.S. by Dave Ferguson!

John 21 - Do You Love Me?
John 21 - Do You Love Me?Jesus appears at the Sea of Galilee while the disciples are fishing. He calls out telling them to put their nets in again. They had not caught anything all night so they were resistant to the idea. They did it anyway, and they caught 153 fish!Jesus reinstates Peter into leadership giving him the opportunity to affirm his love three times just as he had denied Jesus three times the night of Jesus’ arrest.John ends his eyewitness account with the following: “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” (John 21:25 NIV)#newtestament #faith #jesus #spirituality #christianity #christian

John 20 - Do You Believe (Even If You’ve Never Seen Him?)
John 20 - Do You Believe (Even If You’ve Never Seen Him?)Mary Magdalene goes to the tomb early in the morning and notices that the stone has been rolled away. She runs to let the disciples know. Peter and John race to the tomb and find it empty. There is no body, and they believe. Mary sees two angels and talks with Jesus, but she doesn't recognize him until he calls her by name. She is sent out to tell the others. Jesus shows up among the disciples in a locked room and offers them peace and promises the Holy Spirit. Thomas was not there and says to the disciples he will not believe until he sees Jesus in person. When he does a week later, he bows down before Jesus. John tells us that those who do not see Jesus yet believe will be blessed. #newtestament #faith #spirituality #jesus #christianity

John 19 -Do You Know How Much God Loves You?
John 19 -Do You Know How Much God Loves You?Jesus endures a mockery of a trial and is sentenced to death by crucifixion. The Roman soldiers beat him and mock him by putting on him a purple robe, a crown of thorns, and a sign on the cross that says: “King of the Jews.”The soldiers nail Jesus to the cross. His cross is between two thieves. Eventually, Jesus cries out “It is finished” loud enough for John and the others there to hear.Jesus had accomplished his mission. He took upon himself the sins of humanity, and it killed him.#newtestament #jesus #faith #spirituality #postchristianworld #christianity #christian

John 18 - What is Truth?
John 18 - What is Truth? After Jesus spends time praying with the disciples, it is in the Garden of Gethsemane where Judas brings the authorities to arrest Jesus. Peter attacks one of the guards and cuts off his ear (perhaps while attempting to cut off his head). Jesus heals the man. Later Peter denies he even knows Jesus.Jesus acknowledges his Kingdom is from another place and all with him follow the Spirit of Truth. John 17 - Are You Living Unified?Of all the things that Jesus could pray for his disciples before his departure, he prays for unity. He doesn’t pray for power, or for protection. John 16 - Do You Want to Overcome the World?Jesus’ death and resurrection defeats “the prince of this world.” As he leaves, the Spirit will come and guide the disciples into truth.Jesus encourages them with the following: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. John 15 - Do You Bear Fruit?
John 15 - Do You Bear Fruit? Jesus refers to himself as the vine and that we are the branches who can be pruned by the Father so that we might bear fruit. Bearing fruit in the Scriptures means being transformed and bringing transformation to others. Jesus promises that if we remain in him, stay rooted in him, we will bear fruit just as naturally as a branch would bear fruit. He reminds us that apart from him we can do nothing. We can do good things and maybe even important things, but without him we cannot do any God things, things with an eternal significance. John 14 - Do You Know the Way, the Truth, and the Life?
John 14 - Do You Know the Way, the Truth, and the Life? Jesus tells his disciples he is going to prepare a place for them because his Father's house has many rooms. Confused, they ask where he is going because they want to follow him. Then Jesus says: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)Truth is a person, and His name is Jesus. Jesus is the Source of Life. Jesus is the Way.Jesus then promises to send the Holy Spirit saying: “the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. John 12 - Are You Willing to Die to Self?
John 12 - Are You Willing to Die to Self?Jesus points out a spiritual principle we intrinsically know.We cannot become the hero we were created to be unless we are willing to sacrifice for the good of others.Like a seed that is buried only to grow a new plant, Jesus says he will be buried but rise with new life. Before this Jesus is anointed for burial and rides into Jerusalem on a donkey with the crowd cheering for him. Even a few Greeks want to meet him. Jesus spoke on behalf of God the Father and in John 12, God the Father spoke on behalf of Jesus! Even after all the signs Jesus performs, many did not believe in him. John 9 – Do You Want to See?
John 9 – Do You Want to See? In Jesus’ day people believed that someone who was born with disabilities must have sinned or his or her parents sinned. Jesus dispels that notion saying that the man was not blind due to sin but that through his life he might glorify God. The religious leaders try to get the healed man and his parents in trouble, but the healed man says: “I don’t know who healed me. All I know is, I once was blind, but now I can see.” #newtestament #faith #spirituality #jesus #starthere

John 8 - Do You Know the Truth?
John 8 - Do You Know the Truth? To the sinful (those who don’t think they are worthy of God’s love) Jesus begins with grace and then once the person knows they are loved, seen, and heard then he points towards the truth as we see with the woman caught in the act of adultery. For those who don’t think of themselves as sinners, Jesus begins with the truth before he gets to the grace as he does this with the religious leaders.Jesus clearly claims He is the light of the world and the “I Am” and promises that if we know the truth that the truth will set us free.#newtestament #faith #spirituality #jesus #postchristianworld #christianity #christian

John 6 - Do You Want the Bread of Life?
John 6 - Do You Want the Bread of Life? Jesus feeds over 5000 people with 5 loaves and 2 fish and there were 12 baskets leftover. The crowd wants to make him king by force so Jesus withdraws to a mountain. That night Jesus walks on water and catches up to the other disciples! So many people there had their own agenda for Jesus. Jesus then says things like “unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.” (John 6:53 NIV) We know he’s referring to the symbolic ritual we call communion or the Lord’s Supper. Those who have their own agenda for Jesus just think he’s crazy and many stop following him. The 12 apostles stay with him. Peter explains: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68 NIV) #newtestament #jesus #faith #spirituality #starthere

Jesus sees a man who had never been able to walk and asks him: “Do you want to get well?”The man makes excuses and blames others including Jesus after he was healed. The religious leaders are more concerned that he is carrying his mat on the Sabbath than amazed that he can walk!Sometimes we don’t get well because we prefer remaining as we are. As a member of the ruling council he has a great deal to lose if he’s seen with Jesus, but he has to talk to him because of the miracles.Jesus tells him to experience the Kingdom of God requires being “born again.” The problem is that people choose darkness over the light. Too often, we choose to hold on to our power and our ways rather than to surrender all to follow God’s ways. The hope for all is that “whoever believes in the Son has eternal life….” (John 3:36a NIV) #newtestament #Jesus #faith #spirituality #postchristian #postchristianworld #deconstructing #reconstructing #christianity #christian

He would often respond with a question. Sometimes he would respond with a parable. Other times he spoke with boldness and directly to them. ABOUT THIS SHOW
The Bible has been the most influential book in history, but it has also been misunderstood, misinterpreted, and even used for the agenda of people who did not have the heart of God or were a product of their times.
