This message looks at 5 characteristics that marked the early church while they were waiting for God to move in hopes that we, as God’s people today, will adopt the same characteristics.

The ascension is the affirmation by God that the accomplishments of Jesus are complete.

God always fulfills his promises, and the promise of The Holy Spirit is for every believer.

Jesus’ finished work on the cross is just the beginning of His ongoing work in the church! Jesus began His work on Earth, but beyond His resurrection, ascension, and enthronement, He remains in control and continues building His church, just as He had promised.

Often times, our desires are not in line with God’s will for our lives. Through regularly digesting the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit shapes the desires of God’s people to align what we want with what we actually need. The framework for feeding God’s people is a steady diet of the Word of God.

If God is the ultimate authority over all creation, then God’s Word is the authority in our lives.

What it means that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
