Tuesdays with Umulkhair
by Umulkhair Shideh
Umulkhair’s speaking style is different from what you’d expect from a typical podcaster. Out of genuine fear that this podcast turns into an avenue of sinning, she frequently takes long pauses to really think about exactly what it is that she has to say. She enjoys connecting with the Most Merciful ﷻ and doesn’t feel the need to fill the silence, though she can be a little chaotic sometimes. Let us slow down and ponder the creation of the heavens and the earth with her!

The Sixth Tuesday
﷽ WHERE ARE THE TURTLESSSSSS??? WHERE ARE THEY?!? No but seriously, where are the stars and when was the last time you’ve seen a bunch of stars gleaming and twinkling in the sky? On a different note, I have cut myself off from watching movies and tv shows and k-dramas. I have decided to cope with my existence differently. Oh, and apparently, I’ve never been on live television before.I mentioned two articles in this episode, one about Quraish in reference to their worship practices, the other about my Jannah to-do list. Here’s the link to both:Revisiting the Identity of the pre-Islamic Allah at Mecca Pt. 1 by Sam Shamoun, https://www.answering-islam.org/authors/shamoun/preislamic_allah1.htmlOn Food Addiction, Internet Habits, & Jannah To-Do List by Umulkhair Shideh, https://youarenothereforyou.wordpress.com/2026/03/06/on-food-addiction-internet-habits-jannah-to-do-list/

The Fifth Tuesdayn’t
﷽ You are alive, and life’s not too bad. Don’t forget to thank Allah for what He blessed you with. I went on a walk this morning and it confirmed my belief that I’m at my absolute best when I’m completely alone. Alhamdulilah.

The Fourth Tuesday… Give or Take a Few Days
﷽Have you ever sat down and reflected on how considerate and compassionate the prophet pbuh was? Well… you should. It really puts into perspective just how much we’ve grown callous and uncaring for our brethren. I recited an ayah in Surah Al-Kahf incorrectly. Here’s the correct ayah and its translation: فَلَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌۭ نَّفْسَكَ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمْ إِن لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَسَفًاNow, perhaps you ˹O Prophet˺ will grieve yourself to death over their denial, if they ˹continue to˺ disbelieve in this message (Surah Al-Kahf, Ayah 6, translation by Dr. Mustafa Khattab).

The Third Tuesday
﷽ For the past few days, I looked forward to recording this week’s episode. When today finally came, I was a bit hesitant and nervous to go outside and record; I think that’s why I rushed and rambled through today’s episode. Still, I hope something good sticks with you from this, Insha’Allah.

The Second Tuesday
﷽Take it easy, people! What’s for you won’t pass you by. But you also need to put effort into something. Something good, something that Allah and His Messenger ﷺ would be proud of. You need to learn how to moderate between living life on easy mode with actually putting effort into what you want to do.
