Spiritual Warfare and Divine Mercy - Chapter 9 and Conclusion
In this episode we discuss the final chapter of Fr. Ken Geraci’s book. The final chapter blew us away as Fr. Geraci describes what’s actually happening in the Mass , our call to participate and its connection to the Divine Mercy Chaplet and image. How to pray a spiritual Mass as explained in Fr. Geraci’s book:Read the daily Mass readings (they can be found at usccb.org ) and choose 5 elements from the readings you’d like to meditate on. Use those elements to pray the rosary instead of meditating on the 5 mysteries of the day. After you finish the rosary (which in a spiritual mass relates to the liturgy of the word at mass) you go right into praying the Divine Mercy chaplet. At the end of the last decade prayed, before going into the Holy God, pray a spiritual communion ( found at https://www.ewtn.com/catholicism/devotions/act-of-spiritual-communion-339 ) and remain in silence (similar to kneeling in your pew after receiving communion) because praying the chaplet relates to the liturgy of the Eucharist at Mass. Afterward, you end with the final prayers of the chaplet. In this episode, we explore the powerful role of confession in the spiritual battle, the characteristics necessary to make a good confession and why the grace of the sacrament is essential for perseverance in the Christian life. We talk about how confession strengthens the soul, restores our relationship with God and our community and equips us with the grace needed to keep fighting even when the struggle feels overwhelming. We also discuss the profound meaning behind the image of Divine Mercy. We reflect on the message entrusted to St. Faustina and the promises Jesus made to those who venerate the Divine Mercy image with trust. Building Trust Series - The Sacraments
In this episode, we reflect on the graces received through the sacraments of Baptism, Communion, Reconciliation, and Confirmation, and how each one draws us into a deeper, more intimate relationship with the Trinity. We explore how Baptism roots us in the loving identity of the Father, Communion nourishes our union with Christ, Reconciliation restores us through the mercy of the Son, and Confirmation strengthens us by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. Through personal reflection and shared insight, the conversation highlights how these sacramental graces are not abstract ideas but living encounters that build trust, intimacy, and attentiveness to God in everyday life. The episode also weaves in our experiences from our daily practice of presence and lectio divina, revealing how slowing down and listening to Scripture opens the heart to recognize and receive the Trinitarian grace already at work.Examination of Conscience - this is the USCCB website which has several links to various examinations of conscience.Encounter Ministries - if you're interested in signing up for a summer intensive or other events.Ascension Press - this is the Bible Study we discussed in the episode - The Great Adventure Bible Timeline Bible Study.Send us Fan MailIf you like what you've heard, please follow or subscribe to this podcast.
