Wild Violet Healing
by Erin Jepson - Wild Violet Crystals
Thanks for joining me at the Wild Violet Healing podcast. This is my little corner where I can share my studies and you can see if it resonates with you. My topics will vary - a little nod to my ADHD viewpoint of the world. I intend to talk about my interests and how they can help improve my life and potentially yours. Yoga, mythology, herbs, crystals, mindfulness, energy work, divination and more could eventually make its way into an episode. Stay for what calls you, feel free to leave the rest. But my hope for you is that you approach with curiosity and openness.

On & Off the Mat - Yamas: Ahimsa
Welcome back! Today we begin looking at the Yamas, the first limb in Patanjali's 8-Limbed Path of Raja Yoga. We begin with Ahimsa, nonviolence. We look at how this applies to actions, words, and thoughts and a simple way to begin cultivating this in your own practice. 5 Minute River Water with Pings Concentration Training
Welcome! Concentrating on one thing is the prelude to meditation and it is a skill that must be practiced over and over. This short video gives you an opportunity to do that practice. This draws in multiple senses to help you stay engaged in your practice. There is continuous water flow (audio) and there is the visual of the stream where I recorded the video in my local area. Every minute, there is a gentle ping. These serve a couple purposes. They count down the time you have left if you feel like you are struggling and want to continue but need the little reassurance that you can (time blindness). AND it gives you the gentle reminder every minute to notice that you are thinking (it is natural, we ALL do it) and to bring your attention back to your practice (this is LITERALLY what you are practicing!!). Catching your thoughts, or rather that you are thinking thoughts, and bringing your attention back to the video, to your breath, to the sound, that is what you are practicing. That is the work of getting better at meditation. We need to be patient, gentle with ourselves. This takes SO MUCH effort for our brains. This is not our natural state. BUT, if we can commit and recommit to this practice over and over, it can get better. It can start to help. When you are able to handle this video more easily, you are ready to move to my next one that adds five minutes of practice. You can do it!About MeI am a 200hr yoga teacher, with several additional certifications including children, yin, chair, restorative, yoga nidra. Grounding Waterfall Meditation - Inner Body Version
Hello and welcome! This is a grounded exercise that is perfect when you need to slow your crazy thoughts and energy. This is wonderful to do before you need to focus on something, like a project at work or a class. This is the inner body version of this grounding exercise practice, which can feel intense to the practitioner. Here, we send our awareness inside the body. I have another variation of this meditation that keeps the awareness on the surface of the body. Use your judgement for which is right for you at this time, knowing you are always welcome. On & Off the Mat - Jnana Yoga
Hi and welcome! Today I talk a bit about the mental yogic path to enlightenment. I also spend quite a bit of time talking about my journaling practice, with tips of how I was troubleshooting to make it happen and how it has evolved. Different than my previous episodes of this series, I explain ways to include these practices within the viewpoint of a different religion at the end of the episode, instead of sprinkled throughout. Nature Walk Through the Seasons Meditation
Hello and welcome! In this visualization, we will take a nature walk and pass through the four traditional seasons as we go. The descriptions are structured based on the 5-4-3-2-1 mindfulness exercise used to ground the body, especially during moments of anxiety, panic, and stress. This meditation is a perfect way to take a break in the middle of the day or when you need a moment to unwind and clear your head. Even imagining being in nature can have positive effects on the mind and body. I hope you enjoy this meditation and I will see you next time!Written and performed by Erin of Wild Violet Crystals. Color Breathing Meditation
Welcome to this easy guided meditation. This video guides your breathing as you take some time to relax. The simple visualization of colors makes this accessible to beginners. This recording would be great as a quick break in your day to ground into your breathing or as a guide during your shavasana after your yoga practice. This script aligns colors with the chakra system, but there is no mention of this system. The audio allows for 3 minutes of silence before closing at the 10 minute mark. ABOUT THIS SHOW
Thanks for joining me at the Wild Violet Healing podcast.
