    Spiritual and Biologic Realities

Truth about certain realities can be found in the world we live in, nature, philosophies and even pagan mythologies (and those truths aren't negated because all truth is God's truth). However, it's only in scripture that all other truth is grounded. When we try to find a grounding for truth outside of scripture, we can begin to find ourselves in a place we never thought we'd be.  But how does this work itself out in our everyday lives and in the world we live in?  Let's dive in and discuss on today's episode of "Wisdom Talks"! Joy

CS Lewis defined Joy as "an unsatisfied desire which is itself more desirable than any other satisfaction." Joy can, and is often is confused with happiness.  Today, "happiness" at best typically refers to a pleasant, positive feeling or subjective state that includes some short-lived measure of satisfaction, contentment, or enjoyment that occurs.  At it's worst, we confuse hedonism as joy or happiness.  How do we highlight the transcendent in our mission and vision in a way that allows us and those we lead to pursue Joy everyday?  Let's discuss on today's episode of "Wisdom Talks"! The Discarded Image

In C.S. Lewis's lesser-known book "The Discarded Image," Lewis posits that the Medieval age embraced the belief of devolution and that humanity descended from a higher, exalted state. This points to the good news that the overarching aim of life was to aspire, strive to grow in creation's original likeness, respect it, and ultimately regain it once more! In contrast, the modern Darwinian view stands in opposition: a narrative of disorder progressing towards higher order, known as materialistic evolution. This viewpoint, championed by the materialist Richard Dawkins, promotes living life as one desires, yet it proves ultimately incompatible with sustainable adherence. On today's episode of Wisdom Talks, we delve into how these contrasting worldviews manifest in our current cultural landscape and explore the significance of absolute truth.
