Story no.5 ft Samantha Matlhagela 🍃
We’re excited to start off the month with an inspirational story. Here’s a bit about our guest, Samantha Matlhagela is a certified Etiquette and Protocol trainer, with training from The Protocol School of Washington and The Etiquette School of New York. Her educational background includes a bachelor's degree in Human Resources and Public Administration from the University of North West, as well as the University of Stellenbosch's Business School Management Development Programme. In 2018, she co-founded The Etiquette Class @theetiquetteclass after completing her training in Intercultural Etiquette and Protocol. Samantha brings 13 years of banking experience, having worked for First National Bank and later joining Botswana Savings Bank. Her deep understanding of customer service and the importance of proper behavior in retaining customers is evident. In October 2020, Samantha released her first two books, "Behind the Scenes No More, Thanks to Etiquette." These books, "Navigating the career maze" and "The social experience," offer insights into etiquette and practical social skills, essential for representing oneself in the job market. She also introduced a journal titled "BOTHO + LORATO + TLOTLO = ETIQUETTE," aimed at promoting self-love, respect, and humility in interactions with others. We're excited to have the opportunity to delve into her experiences and learn from her expertise.🍃🙌🏽

Story no.4 Ft Brandon Mafhoko🍃 Seen, heard and Valued: Navigating Mental Well being & chasing your dreams We’re so honored to have had an opportunity to get insight and a front row seat to @brandonmafhoko story ☺️🤧 We got to learn about his story and how he has navigated living with disability. He shared on how he valued the contribution of family, friends and most of all God in helping keep a positive mindset as they left him feeling seen, heard and valued in all the moments they’ve lived out with him. He shares how having and maintaining a positive outlook on life has fueled his journey and given him new hope in terms of his academic journey and pursuit of his passion of music He noted how his one aspiration is to Be able to dream MORE even after reaching all his goals and leaving a legacy of love and helping those living with similar disabilities see that it is possible by beholding his story! “Your smartness is determined by your heart work and hard work” Overall he charged us to be deliberate about checking in with ourselves and our loved ones as we navigate mental health and being intentional about learning and teaching each other on mental health. We were honored by his presence and got so many nuggets that we believe will shift our own story forward. What’s your story? Ep 01| Artistic Legacy: How creatives shape society 🍃 Kicking off our series we will be having a chat with @sereneserenabw next week Monday. A little bit our guest: Serena Serene Mmifinyana is a trained scriptwriter from Gaborone, Botswana 🇧🇼 who holds a bachelor of arts in Film and Television from Limkokwing University. In 2018 she enrolled in the MultiChoice Talent Factory and it was there that she co-wrote her first feature film, "The Painting", which was commissioned by DStv's channel Zambezi Magic in 2019. Serena has since worked on various projects such as scripting the 5th season oft the radio drama "Madi Majwana". In 2020, she became the Creative Director of N&M Productions, a scriptwriting and film administration company based in Gaborone, Botswana. Under N&M, Serena has managed various projects and productions, including being head writer for "The Star", a local police drama on UPicTV, as well as producing "This is Africa", an international online podcast for the MultiChoice Talent Factory, and Dintshang?! with DStv. She was also vital in acquiring the screen rights for the works of Barolong Seboni, and heads that project today. Serena is a co-founder and vice-chairperson for Women in Film Guild Botswana, 2022. The guild has since been affiliated under Women in Film and Television International and in 2022, Serena was voted into the official Board of Directors in WIFTI, where she will represent women in film in Botswana.
