View Your Marketing as One of Your Services
This reframe is something that I am thinking about a lot these days and I hope you might take this with you as you continuously put ourselves out there to get visible with your marketing. Obviously marketing can feel like a burden to many. Those who are service providers, creatives, people who are more heart centered, many of whom just want to do their services and create. We just want to get on with it, right? However, to create a sustainable, long-term business , we need consistent marketing otherwise new people won't know that we exist and people who have found us won’t understand what we do. We have to keep sharing our message, sharing what we're doing so that the people who really connect with our work get the opportunity to learn about us and see our integrity . And the more people that we can reach, we can find more people. Not everyone is gonna connect with us or our voice or need necessarily what we're offering in the moment. Embracing who you are, in marketing and life.
Can you embrace who you are when it comes to marketing your business? Or putting yourself out there and getting visible in other ways in your life? This is a follow up to my previous podcast episode which is a challenge from my husband to my showing up imperfectly attire 😆 Corporate marketing is embedded into our beliefs about what’s right and what’s wrong. Listen in and let some of those ideas fall away in order to experience more peace and freedom with how you show up which makes marketing so much easier and lighter.

It’s totally okay to show up imperfect
Showing up imperfect. You can do it. It’s better to be out here doing your thing than hiding it until you get it perfect. Because even when you are masterful, you’re human. And your process matters.

Never underestimate the urge to bolt
Have you ever heard the saying every therapist has a therapist? Well my therapist shared with me this week about her BOLT insurance policy she shares with her clients. BOLT for never underestimate the urge to bolt from therapy! Let’s bring attention to this with some compassion and understanding if why we do the things we do 😀 What’s your bolt insurance for clients? Because you know when things get hard some of them are runnin! Or what happens when you get freaked on social media? Do you go back to hiding again for long periods? Let me know in the comments

Undoing manipulative marketing tactics
My obsession with shark tank has progressed in the opposite direction as I unlearn unethical business practices that I’ve picked up from growing up in a capitalistic society. It’s not that profit isn’t important or necessary. It’s that business will only be human when it treats the client and the relationship as such and not just a number, lead, target, some would say victim. I believe its very important to talk about these issues despite them being uncomfortable. Having conversations, strengthening our awareness and owning what we deserve as a human will build a core that naturally leads to taking action. Because not one of us can solve this but what it takes is the many. And those of us business owners need to be examples of that and say no to treating our customers in a manipulative way (even if we don’t intend harm) . And as customers we get to speak up and ask for and pay for true value and to keep not being afraid to demand what you deserve

You get to be your authentic self when marketing
This podcast (also recorded as a video on Instagram) talks about how you get to be your authentic self when doing business or marketing. There is no need for fear based or manipulative tactics that we’ve picked up along the way from bad information and inauthentic people who are more focused on taking your money than anything else. Let me know your thoughts below!

{Business} Why Checking the Facts Sets You Apart as a Therapist or Service Provider
When you are able to fact check your content and the information you share, you set yourself apart as an expert who is trustworthy and is consistent over time. When making decisions from just emotion and passion or just from logic and reason, we miss out on wise mind qualities of clarity. Instead we want to pull from both states of mind and also back up our body of work with facts. This can be applied to multiple situations but specifically this was recorded for business.

{2 min Meditation} Practice with Me
Meditation is not only one of the best ways to tap into the stillness and creativity within, it will make you feel sane. It can be hard to practice in stillness though at the beginning, or in general humans we are wired for connection and can prefer accountability. So regardless of your reason there’s always a good reason to take a few moments to be present with yourself. And we all need some of that right now am I right?

Reactions to a Student Loan Forgiveness Post {Political Social Work}
As I say, social work is political and my Alma Mater Rutgers University agrees with their recently published article on this. Here are my quick thoughts from an Instagram post about student loan forgiveness, a passionate and distressing topic for many. I’ve finally tapped into what the emotion is, nausea, disgust. It makes me sick to see people continuously being groomed by propaganda to vote against their own interests. More on this in future episodes!!

Part 2- From Doom Scrolling to Soul Strolling on Social Media
In today’s video I share how to go on a soul stroll instead of doom scrolling like we talked about in the previous episode. A soul stroll is all about releasing expectations, focusing on curiosity and connection and listening to internal nudges and sparks of inspiration and joy to find what the next step is. I go over a 4 step process in this video- 1. Setting your intention 2. Using a timer for a closed container 3. Following your inspirational nudges 4. Taking notes after and writing down how it went and fear based thoughts that arise. An important note to remember! Fear may likely still come up but that’s okay. The soul stroll is a practice! Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever approached scrolling online or social media in this way before or if this sounds like a refreshing change!! Make sure to follow @jenmeleart if you haven’t already for my holistic business coaching tips and creative inspiration!
