Send us Fan MailChronic illness and medical trauma are nothing new for me. I’ve lived with varying forms of sickness and skin disease since birth, experiencing severe eczema, psoriasis, allergies, environmental & food sensitivities, infections and autoimmune issues. I was hospitalized for flesh-eating disease when I was 6 years old, took time off school for a serious case of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) when I was 16, and had my tonsils removed when I was 20 after years of chronic sinus infections. After decades of mounting illness and debilitating symptoms, I became a medical mystery. Standard & alternative treatments were not working and I was now reacting to the very medications I had become reliant on. In 2020, I finally made the decision to stop all my medication and went through years of excruciating topical steroid withdrawal (TSW). One day in 2023, everything exploded and I landed in the infectious disease clinic. Not only was my body in crisis, but I was now experiencing other layers of my reality spiritually. With each new wave of infection, I was simultaneously experiencing other lifetimes in history where I died in similar scenarios. Send us Fan MailWhile I’ve never had talent as a musician, music has always played a huge role in my life as a catalyst for self-expression, moving emotions and experiencing my psychic senses. Music was a form of somatic therapy that helped me process life as a highly sensitive person and connect with myself amidst the noise. When I was 22 years old, my dad died in a tragic accident and I found myself in new heights of pain & emotion. Isolated in a small town without support, life became overwhelming and my body mirrored this inner distress. I vomited every time I ate, I broke out into hives when I went to work, and it felt like there was nowhere to put all the feelings. Send us Fan MailI look back nine years to a pivotal point in my breakdown as a capable person that foreshadows the many rock bottoms to come. A big break up, 3 house moves, a secretive work relationship, an unplanned pregnancy and toxic workplace prove too much as my body gives up in an attempt to steer me in a new direction. As I experience a loss of control over my body-from brain fog, severe skin reactions & body pain, to hair loss, a precancer diagnosis & sensitivities to almost every food, chemical & weather pattern-I appear to develop an allergy to life itself. Hoping for a promising start as I move into a new home, instead the house eerily reflects the state of my inner dysfunction-a shaky foundation & crumbling facade...infested with ants.
