After three and a half years of conversations, chaos, curiosity, and connection, Enlightenment and Laughter is coming to a close.What started as two voices searching for meaning quickly became a space for honesty, growth, absurd humour, and real talk and grew into this family of wonder people. From deep spirals to laughing at life’s ridiculousness, our team have spent years exploring what it means to be human: imperfectly, openly, and together.This final episode isn’t a goodbye to curiosity or laughter, but a celebration of everything shared along the way. In this episode, Aidan and Hannah talk about their experiences with coming out as homosexual and being diagnosed with autism and how these things have affected them over the last few years. They want to show that it's okay not to have all the answers.

This episode features a guest appearance from Lyra, who also appeared briefly in episode 61. Today, she is performing her speech focusing on the perception of women and how women are presented in the media. Aidan and Hannah then sit down to break down the speech by sharing their thoughts and opinions on the important topic. Especially as Hannah is someone who has personal connections to the perception shown by Disney Princesses.

In this episode, Aidan is joined by our newest guest host, Zak! Recently, Zak finished a three-month contract at The Royal Shakespeare Company playing 'Prince Edward' in 'Edward II'. We sat down with him to talk all about that experience from the audition process, to press week, to his final performance and everything he has learnt during this process.

Three years ago, on the 1st of July, a small idea in the minds of two bored teenagers in the midst of lockdown came to life in the form of a podcast. That is when E&L was born. Back then, Aidan and Sharkey never believed the podcast would even work, let alone help to create a community and bring people together. We have made endless memories and friendships that are stronger than ever. This is not the end yet, only the beginning! Here we follow them through rehearsals and the show by clips recorded in real life outside of the usual recording space. This allows you to have a little insight into their lives and the things they love to do. However it does come with the challenge of facing the fear of social anxiety by talking into their phone in public!

In this episode, Aidan, Elliot and Sky sit down to discuss Elliot's final three picks of the Am I The Asshole stories. This is the third part of this series of AITA episodes where they had too much to talk about so it was split from two episodes into three. Here they talk about people's pregnancy cravings and they affected a families dinners AND if parents should be willing to cook seperate meal for their children.

In this episode, Aidan and Elliot are joined by Sky to start Elliot's picks for Am I The Arsehole stories. However, we have had to split this episode into two episodes as Elliot chose excellent stories that were spoken about for two long periods.Here they talk about whether or not people should be forced to invite strangers to their wedding, how far jokes can go before being mean and if someone should feel bad for changing their name due to their parents' bad decisions.

In the final episode of the 'Adolescence' miniseries, we experience a blockbuster finale that centers on the show's last two episodes of the show. They react to two moments from the show: a highlight reel of episode three's tense moments and the final scene of the last episode. By the end, as Stephen Graham breaks down in Jamie's room, Aidan and Hannah are emotional wrecks, illustrating how impactful and moving the story of this show is. Episode Three follows Jamie's session with the therapist, Briony. Throughout the session, Jamie reacts with anger and sorrow throughout. This is until he accidentally confesses to murder.In the show's final episode, we see the Miller family trying to continue their lives despite the events that tore their family apart thirteen months earlier.The series depicts their heartbreaking reality through many powerful performances from Owen Cooper, Amelie Pease, Stephen Graham, Christine Tremarco, and Erin Doherty.

In the second episode of our Adolescence Trilogy, Aidan and Hannah are discussing episodes one and two of the show. Here they discuss the heartbreaking performances shown by Jamie, his family and especially his classmates, as well as how each episode shows a different perspective of Katie's death. Episode one focuses on the process of the arrest and questioning of Jamie Miller, while episode two focuses on Jamie and Katie's school so we get to see the reactions of their friends and classmates.

In this episode, Hannah joins Aidan for a three-part miniseries based on the limited series that has hit the world by storm this year. They discuss the show's effects on them and why it is so important to talk about in 2025. Aidan's dad also sits down for a short chat about why the show is so important to him as a father of two teenagers. 'Adolescence' is a Netflix show written by Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne about how when their 13-year-old son is arrested for the murder of a teenage girl, the Miller family's world is turned upside down.

In this episode, Aidan is joined by guest host Hannah! They reminisce about their friendship, discussing their time in choir together, their trip to the Royal Albert Hall, and all the ups and downs they experienced in a theatrical friend group. They also talk about their love for the music recently released by up-and-coming singer-songwriter Freya Iris.

In this episode, Aidan begins to reflect on the significance of expressing one's feelings, especially in a world where open conversation is becoming less normalised. While discussing this, he shares his coping mechanisms, which include music, podcasts, and television shows. Remember, try and see yourself a little more like your loved ones do- they don't love you without reason. He also emphasises how vital it is to have someone who truly understands you, is so crucial to self-love.

This is the ultimate experience for musical theatre enthusiasts! Both Aidan and Sky are massive theatre fans who have been eagerly anticipating this film for years!They now have the chance to discuss their views on the music, the casting choices, the choreography, the designs, and much more! I'll allow you to discover what those views were.Later, they are also joined by Rook, who is not a theatre kid, so it is very interesting to see his more humorous reactions to the film.

Today Aidan is joined by Sky and Rook to catch up with them to discuss their GCSE experience. This also leads to the most important episode of 2025- Aidan and Sharkey have decided it is time to discuss the real reasons behind people's departure from the podcast over the last few years. This is all achieved through light-hearted humour and respectful choices of words.

How else could we celebrate the 50th Episode Milestone, than with another instalment of our specialist episodes!! This episode focuses on Sharkey one of our founders. Sharkey's identity has gone on a long journey since they met Aidan. They are a passionate member of the LGBTQIA+ Community. In this episode, Aidan puts Sharkey in the hot seat as he interviews them all about how they have changed as a person and what positive impacts they have experienced since they came out as non-binary (they/he). This episode was created to show our viewers that everyone deserves to be loved and how it's ok to be the true you because the real people in your life will love you no matter what.

In this episode, Aidan and Sharkey discuss their thoughts and feelings about the Wicked Movie. They were lucky enough to see the film together, so they will use their shared experience to influence their conversation. They discuss casting choices, their rankings of the soundtrack and opinions on characters.

In this episode, Aidan opens up about his connection to 'Gavin and Stacey' and 'Doctor Who'. These two shows have been coping mechanisms for him when he experiences low days, so now that Christmas has passed, he decides to discuss 'Joy To The World' and 'Gavin and Stacey: The Finale' and how much they mean to him.

Aidan goes full interviewer mode in this episode where he is joined by both Elliot and Sharkey. These two have never been in the same episode before but they are very alike. They get into many conversations about Christmas films, comfort shows as well as their journey of discovery when it comes to their gender identity. Don't worry with one extra co-host it only means one thing... even more tangents!!

Elliot joins Aidan for a little catch-up after not seeing each other in a few months. They discuss both Christmas and their memories together as well as aspirations for the future.

In this episode, Aidan takes the hot seat, which turns into a hilarious moment when Sharkey becomes our solo host. Aidan opens up about the intensity of MT College, his body issues, and dealing with his ASD during the change. But in true Aidan and Sharkey style, we get lost in multiple hilarious tangents!

In this episode, Sharkey is in the hot seat when it comes to how their life has changed since starting college. They discuss new teachers, making new friends and how college differs from high school. But Aidan and Sharkey are involved so... YES! Of course, there will be tangents!!

In this episode, Aidan is flying solo in our first attempt at a solo podcast. He gets to talk about the inspiring winners of the 'The Pride Of Britain Awards' 2024 and what they have been recognised for. The awards stand for the same values as E&L and the incredible winners showcase the pure joy people need in their lives. Aidan also has the opportunity to discuss the inspiring work of the 'Remember Rufus' charity run by Ceri Amphlett and Billy Key who lost their son tragically but were lucky enough to have a couple of days with him to create memories as a family thanks to CuddleCots so their aim now is to try and supply as many hospitals as they can with CuddleCots to enable other grieving parents to have that healing experience.

In the newest episode, it's an episode from the archives in the form of the duologue that Aidan and Sharkey performed on Zoom back at the beginning of the podcast. It's a scene from the 2005 revival of Doctor Who with The Doctor (Christopher Eccleson) and Rose (Billie Piper) but Aidan was able to re-edit the audio clip and remove the zoom delay! So now the scene flows better! This is the beginning of a new idea being brought to the podcast through the use of the acting passion shared by a couple of the podcast members, so some of the episodes will display monologues, duologues and group scenes performed by our team.
