We start by examining your foundation and not diagnosing your behavior. Without a FIRM foundation in Christ, the fight will feel impossible.

FIRM | Day 30: Choose This Day

FIRM | Day 29: Do You Hear What I Hear?
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”– John 10:27Daily ReadingGod still speaks. Sometimes through Scripture. Sometimes through prayer. Sometimes through the wise counsel of others. Sometimes in the still, quiet whisper to your heart. The question is, are you listening?Pornography drowns out God’s voice with noise, distractions, and lies. Slow down, quiet your soul and open your heart to his direction. Taking up your cross means willingly embracing hardship, suffering, and self-denial for the sake of Christ.Pornography offers instant gratification. The cross calls for self-denial. Pornography promises escape from pain. The cross calls you to walk through pain with faith. Pornography feeds selfishness. The cross calls believers, to live for God and others.Taking up a cross is not about punishment, it is about purpose. It is about recognizing that real life is found not in indulging or gratifying the flesh but in following Christ wherever He leads. Each time someone resists sin, they choose obedience and endure hardship for His sake.This is not a one-time act. Spiritually, it is easy to slip into the same mindset, watching a church, a family, or a community and thinking, “Someone else will serve. Someone else will lead. Someone else will help.”Freedom from pornography is not just about what someone stops doing, it is about what they start doing. God gives gifts, time, and opportunities to serve. Stepping in and serving others, not only is a blessing to them but your heart also grows stronger. Serving pulls the focus off self and redirects it toward God's kingdom. The enemy wants you to stay passive, isolated, and silent. God calls us to step in, get involved, and take a place in the body of Christ. Someone does not have to be an “official” church staff member to step in, just be willing. FIRM | Day 25: Bearing Fruit
“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.”– Matthew 7:19–20Daily ReadingEvery life tells a story, good and bad. People know what kind of tree someone is by the fruit they bear. If someone’s life produces love, peace, and faithfulness, others see Christ. Conversely, if someone’s life produces secrecy, lust, and selfishness, the evidence is apparent. Faith without works are dead (James 2:26). Bearing fruit does not save you, Christ does. True salvation produces visible results. Someone can not claim to be following Jesus while refusing to let Him transform your actions. Bearing fruit is about living out what God is planting. As roots grow deeper in Him, fruit will show, whether in how someone loves a spouse, serves in church, or how they resist temptation. Pornography bears rotten fruit, broken trust, guilt, and spiritual dryness. The Spirit bears good fruit, joy, healing, and impact on others. Choose which kind of fruit your life reflects. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” – Galatians 5:22-23Daily ReadingWhen someone comes to Christ, they receive forgiveness along with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit produces fruit in their life. Spiritual fruits are not simply personality traits or self-improvement goals, they are evidence of God’s work. Freedom from pornography is not just about saying no to sin, but about saying yes to Spirit-filled living. As someone walks with God, His Spirit shapes their character with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Notice self-control. That is not someone’s individual power, it is His fruit. His gift. Along with fruit, the Spirit also gives gifts, unique abilities given for the good of His church. Some are called to teach, others to serve, others to encourage, others to lead. Discovering gifts helps to shift the focus outward, away from personal struggles and towards God’s mission. Pornography makes someone self-focused. The Spirit makes people Christ-focused. That shift changes everything, as believers look for opportunities to witness. “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 3:20Daily ReadingIf you are in Christ, you do not just belong to this world, you are a citizen of heaven. That means your values, your priorities, and your relationships should reflect your true home and be at complete odds with the world. Pornography thrives when we live like the world does, chasing pleasure, ignoring consequences, and treating people as objects. As citizens of heaven, we live differently. We recognize that our choices matter, not just for ourselves, but as a reflection of Christ’s kingdom.This also means we must be careful about the company we keep. Scripture warns, “Bad company corrupts good character” (1 Corinthians 15:33). If you surround yourself with people who normalize sin, it becomes harder to resist. You are not of this world. You belong to Christ.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”– 2 Corinthians 5:17Daily ReadingYou are not the man you once were. When you placed your faith in Christ, you became a new creation. That means your past sins, your old habits, and your former identity do not define you anymore. The shame of pornography may have weighed you down, but in Christ, you are not the same person who once bowed to it.Being a new creation does not mean the fight is over, it means the fight has a different outcome. You are no longer battling as a slave, but as a son of God, armed with His Spirit and clothed in His righteousness.Satan might try temptation and whisper lies: “You have not really changed. You will always be the same.” But the truth is clear, you are not defined by your failures. You are defined by Christ’s victory.Living as a new creation means walking daily in the reality of who you are in Him. Your past is forgiven, your present is being renewed, and your future is secure.InsightResearch shows that lasting change often begins not with changing behavior, but with changing identity, how you see yourself. FIRM | Day 21: Declare With Your Mouth
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9Daily ReadingWords matter. They reveal what you believe and they reinforce what you live. Silence keeps sin hidden. Declaring truth with your mouth brings freedom and strength.Jesus said, “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of” (Luke 6:45). When your mouth declares God’s truth, your heart begins to align with it. Declaring your faith is not about pretending you are perfect, it is about proclaiming who your Lord is and where your loyalty lies.Confession is about admitting sin, but declaration is about proclaiming victory. Both are needed. When you say aloud, “Jesus is Lord over my life and my body,” you are reminding the enemy, and yourself, that you are no longer a slave to sin but a servant of Christ.This will set the stage for next week as you will take your faith to the next level. Passivity should no longer be an option. Today, if you declare that Jesus is Lord, then you are committing to Him, as to love the Lord means to obey Him (John 14:15).Insight47% of Bible users say the Bible “brings them closer to God.” This can be even more powerful: when you speak God’s Word aloud, you anchor your faith in truth. If you have not already done so, are you ready to recommit to the Lord? Final ThoughtWhen was the last time you made a verbal declaration to Christ? Today, make a declaration. Out loud. Not a silent prayer but out loud.To love Christ is to obey Him.Week 3: ReflectionThis week was about moving from awareness to action. You have learned that freedom does not come by watching from the sidelines but by actively engaging in the fight for purity.Day 15 challenged you to clean house, removing apps, accounts, and digital clutter that fuel temptation.Day 16 taught you to build a security system, adding safeguards like accountability and filters to protect your heart.Day 17 emphasized building a rhythm, establishing consistent times and places to meet with God daily.Day 18 reminded you that your brain can be retrained, replacing lies with God’s truth through renewed thought patterns.Day 19 showed that resistance flows out of submission, relying not on willpower but on God’s strength.Day 20 taught that falling is not failure, because the righteous get back up again and again.Day 21 called you to declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, aligning your words with your faith.ReflectionThis week may have been difficult because you have deleted, installed, scheduled, prayed, and declared. These are not just surface-level changes, they are foundational habits that reinforce your identity in Christ.Maybe you have stumbled this week. Maybe you have already had moments of victory. Either way, the key is this, you are participating now. You are no longer a passive spectator. Every small step of obedience matters because each one builds toward freedom.A difference between falling back and moving forward is consistency. Keep clearing out, keep building rhythms, keep resisting, keep declaring. The more you participate, the stronger your faith becomes.In Week 4: Practice What You Preach, you will discover what it means to live out your new identity. This is not just about breaking free from pornography, it is about becoming who God has called you to be. FIRM | Day 20: A Righteous Man Gets Back Up
“For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.”– Proverbs 24:16Daily ReadingFalling does not mean you are a failure. True failure is staying down. Every believer stumbles. Even King David, a man after God’s own heart, fell into sin. Peter denied Jesus three times. Yet both got back up, repented, and were restored. And look at what they did for the Kingdom.Pornography may have knocked you down in the past, but that does not mean you are defeated. God’s grace is greater than your worst moment. The difference between the righteous and the wicked is not that the righteous never fall, it is that they do not stay down. They rise again, leaning on God’s mercy and strength.Do not let shame keep you on the ground. When you fall, confess, repent, and return to God. Falling is part of the journey, but staying down is a choice.Today is the final day to find a trusted Christian to walk with in accountability. If you have not found one, feel free to continue to the next day but it is strongly encouraged that you complete this step. You are on a team, allow your teammate to help you get back up after you have been knocked down.InsightThe National Institute on Drug Abuse notes that relapse is common in the recovery process, but returning immediately to healthy routines and support systems greatly improves long-term outcomes. Spiritually, this aligns with the biblical call to repent and rise again rather than staying stuck in shame.Reflection QuestionWhen I stumble, do I run from God in shame, or run to Him for grace? What would it look like to get back up faster next time?Final ThoughtIf you are having a hard time confessing to a friend or mentor, remember, you do not have to go into great detail of what you are consuming. You can say something along the lines of, “I am struggling with lust” or “sexual sin” and say that you are wanting someone to come alongside you to help fight for purity, fight for your family, your relationships and your faith. Falling does not make you weak, staying down does.

FIRM | Day 19: Resist
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”– James 4:7Daily ReadingMen may try to resist pornography with willpower alone. But as noted before, true resistance does not come from gritting your teeth, it comes from God’s power. James makes it clear: the order matters. First, submit to God. Then resist the devil. Resistance flows out of surrender. His will, His power.When you rely only on yourself, temptation will eventually wear you down. But when you lean on the Spirit, you stand with strength beyond your own. Jesus himself modeled this in the wilderness, every time the enemy tempted Him, He responded with God’s Word (Matthew 4:1–11). Resistance was not passive; it is active reliance on the Father.To resist means to push back, to stand firm, speak truth, and take action. It is not a one-time victory, but a daily choice saying, “Today I choose God’s will and His power over my urges.”In case you missed it, resist means to push back. Resisting is not passive, it is an action. When temptation comes, you do not avoid it, you literally look it in the face and push back. As an analogy, when a football player carrying the ball makes contact with an opposing player, his teammate will come from behind and help push that player forward to get across the goal line. Is it the ball carrier's strength that moves them forward or a team effort? Who do you think has your back? (Hint, starts with “G”)InsightLong-term resistance to temptation is far more likely when individuals build supportive structures (habit formation, accountability, and ecological changes) instead of relying solely on willpower. A longitudinal study found that people who repeated goal-aligned behaviors consistently over 90 days saw stronger habit formation, reducing the need for constant resistance.Reflection QuestionWhen temptation comes, do I try to fight in my own strength, or do I first submit to God and rely on His power? What would it look like for me to resist with Scripture instead of willpower?Final ThoughtChrist is there for you and He knows your struggle. Christ’s power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Chances are, you have not seen this power because you are not pursuing Christ first.It is not how strong you are, it is how strong He is.NOTE: Continue to consider who your trusted friend is.

FIRM | Day 18: Retraining Your Mind
“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”– 2 Corinthians 10:5Daily ReadingThe same brain that has been shaped by pornography can be reshaped by God’s truth. Science calls it neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to rewire itself through repeated actions. Scripture calls it renewing your mind (Romans 12:2).For years, you may have trained your brain to turn to pornography for comfort, escape, or stimulation. But those patterns can be broken. How? By removing old thought paths and replacing them with new ones rooted in God’s Word. Each time you resist temptation and redirect your thoughts toward Christ, you dig a new mental “path.” Over time, the old path weakens, and the new one strengthens.This is not about willpower, it is about Spirit-filled transformation. You do not just avoid bad thoughts; you replace them with better ones.Right now, whether you realize it or not, you are forming new paths within your brain that will eventually crave holy and pure things instead of impure things. When temptation comes, it can almost feel impossible to remove that thought. But over time, as you saturate your mind with God, those lingering thoughts will not last as long as they usually do. Temptation will always be present, it just depends on how firm you are. Will you be blown and tossed by the wind or will you remain steadfast?InsightNeuroscience research shows that simply starting a new behavior repeatedly in the same context—rather than relying on sudden motivation, drastically improves the odds that the brain will form a new habit and dismantle the old one. One study found that on average, it takes around 66 days of consistent repetition for a behavior to become automatic.Reflection QuestionWhen temptation comes, what thoughts usually play on repeat in my head? Is your initial reaction to grit your teeth and eventually cave or do you take that thought captive and hand it to God to replace it with something lovely, true and pure?Final ThoughtYou do not have to win every battle in a moment, just win this one thought. When temptation comes today or tomorrow, turn your mind to Christ immediately.With God’s Word and Spirit, your mind can be renewed, retrained, and set free.NOTE: “The pleasantness of a friend springs from their heartfelt advice” (Proverbs 27:9). Heartfelt counsel from a friend is sweet and a delight. Who is this person for you?

“Blessed is the one…whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.”– Psalm 1:1–2Daily ReadingOne of the greatest mistakes men make in fighting pornography is thinking that victory comes from a moment of inspiration. But real transformation is not built on occasional highs, it is built on steady rhythms.Think about brushing your teeth, driving to work on the same route, or getting dressed, you do them daily, rhythmically, without fail and without thinking twice about it. The same is true with your walk with God. You install lights or cameras. Not because you expect danger every moment, but because you know the risk is real.The same is true spiritually. You may need filters, accountability software, and safeguards, not because of weakness, but because of wisdom. Safeguards do not replace faith or discipline, but they support them. They remind you that your purity is worth protecting. You need something in place that sets the alarms off when temptation creeps. Other safeguards may be leaving your phone behind in places/times of known temptation or maybe, temporarily, downgrading to a dumb phone. Or take strategic walks. Think of times temptation occurs most and try to focus on putting up barriers around that time.InsightAccountability software and dedicated support systems strengthen the fight against pornography by creating transparency and actionable accountability. Now comes the turning point: where do you go from here?Freedom does not come from doing everything at once. It comes from choosing one step of obedience and walking in it consistently. Think of it as training at a gym, you do not try to master every exercise on the first day. You pick one or two routines and stay faithful. Over time, strength builds.Quitting porn is not just about dropping a bad habit or addiction, it is a sign of growth. And just like any growth, it is measurable and noticeable. At this moment you are choosing to exercise your faith and not your sin and you will see one fade and the other take shape. Do not misunderstand, the temptation is still going to be there but the point is that you are on the right path. The path of faith in Christ Jesus. FIRM | Day 4: Is It Any Wonder?
“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” – James 1:6Daily ReadingIf faith is weak, is it really any wonder that temptation feels unbeatable? Pornography is not just a physical habit, it is a spiritual battle. And in every battle, strength comes from what you stand on. If your foundation in Christ is shaky, the weight of temptation will knock you down.Too often, men treat faith as optional and then wonder why their struggles remain constant. Faith is not a backup plan, it is the source of power to resist. Without it, your fight becomes willpower versus sin, and that is a fight you will lose. With it, you tap into God’s Spirit, who strengthens, convicts, and equips you.In the book of James (chapter 1:7), he says those who doubt in God, should not expect to receive anything from Him. Read these verses and reflect on them. Do you have any doubt reading them?“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” – James 1:5InsightA survey by the State of the Bible found that only 54% of people believe “The Bible contains everything a person needs to know to live a meaningful life.” Based on this, for it seems to suggest the Bible, or Christ Himself, is not enough. The Bible leads us to salvation through Jesus Christ while revealing His character and guidance. Reflection QuestionAfter reading about temptation and asking for wisdom, is there any doubt in your mind that God can do those things for you? If there is doubt, why?Final ThoughtToday, reflect on all the times you have been tempted in the past, what “escape route” did God provide you? Whether you fell into sin or not, that is not the point. The point is to identify going forward the exit signs. They are there, you just need to find them. If you know where they are at, we will get to that in the coming days.Five minutes of connection shifts the battle from your power to God’s power.

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” – Psalm 119:11Daily ReadingMany men try to fight pornography by sheer willpower or by adding filters, but without God’s Word as your weapon, the battle will feel one-sided. Scripture is not just a rulebook, it is strength, guidance, and the very voice of God speaking into your struggle.When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He did not argue with Satan using logic or personal strength, He responded with Scripture. Each time, He said, “It is written.” (Matthew 4:1–11). That is why dusting off your Bible is not a small symbolic act, it is the foundation for victory.Pornography thrives where God’s Word is absent. But every verse you open, read, and internalize is like drawing your sword in battle. A closed Bible cannot help you, but an open one can transform your mind, renew your heart, and give you strength you did not know you had.InsightAccording to State of the Bible, 50% of Christians say they read the Bible less than twice a year. Yet the same studies show that regular Bible engagement is directly tied to lower levels of destructive habits, including pornography. The truth is simple: you cannot live in victory if you are starving spiritually. God’s Word is food for your soul.Reflection QuestionDavid said, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” He did not say, “so that I will be blessed” or “to be successful" but rather, so that he would not sin. Are you hiding God’s Word in your heart to keep you from sinning?Final ThoughtToday, literally dust off your Bible, or download a Bible app if you do not have one. If you are already in the Word daily, consider memorizing Scripture in addition to your daily readings. There is no such thing as “too much God”. Lastly, say this prayer out loud, yes out loud. In a voice as if you are talking to a friend: “Lord, as I read your Word, help me to believe it. Believe in your power, strength and guidance. Help me to hide your Word in my heart so I might not sin against you. Amen.”The goal is not to read a whole book today, it is to start feeding your spirit.

Men who struggle with pornography may also struggle with spiritual inconsistency, prayer feels mechanical, and Scripture reading becomes optional. When faith practices weaken, the flesh grows stronger.Faith is like a muscle. It grows through repetition, not simply inspiration. You cannot expect victory if you are starving spiritually. Pornography thrives where spiritual disciplines are neglected, but it weakens where faith routines are alive and steady.Even the smallest daily act of faith, praying for 5 minutes, reading a single Psalm, serving once a week, begins to rewire your priorities and your brain toward spiritual strength. InsightResearch shows that spiritual disciplines like prayer and Scripture reading play a vital role in breaking free from pornography. The Center for Bible Engagement found that people who read the Bible at least four times a week were 59% less likely to view pornography than those who did not. Consistency in engaging with God’s Word makes a measurable difference in behavior.Reflection QuestionWhich spiritual practice do I most neglect? Explain why you neglect them or what you think is preventing you?Final ThoughtToday, commit to two things. The first one, be in the Word everyday for at least 10 minutes starting tomorrow. This can either be a physical Bible, phone Bible or audio Bible. This may seem like a big commitment but God’s Word is superior to anything else this devotional has to offer which is why this is the first commitment you need to make. Second, choose a second spiritual discipline to practice throughout the rest of these 30 days. You can choose from: Scripture memorization - Choose a verse to memorize every other day.Bible Study - Study the Bible for at least 15 minutes a day.Prayer - Pray at least three times a day for five minutes.Fasting - Fast from one thing for the rest of the 30 days. Meditation - Three times a day, meditate for five minutes.See the resource page in the back for tips.Faith is not built in a moment, it strengthens one small decision at a time.

What is faith and how is it measured? Faith is a firm conviction, trust, and reliance on God and His promises, even without physical evidence.When you are convicted, do you act on those convictions, or suppress them? Do you trust God can help with your struggles? Do you rely on His Word in times of temptation?If these indicators are healthy, your faith is strong, and your faith will be revealed in your daily life and through your actions.With this definition, on a scale of 1-10, 1 being weak and 10 being strong, where are you in your faith? Take a moment to accurately gauge where you are.There is no right or wrong answer. Before you can move forward, you must know where you are. Week 1 takes a spiritual and practical inventory of your life, your faith, your habits and your struggles, so you can see clearly what needs to change and where God is ready to work. This week is not about fixing everything. It is about gaining clarity, seeing your faith, your habits, and your struggle with fresh eyes.Day 1: Examine Your Foundation - Freedom begins when you know where you are.Day 2: Faith Inventory - Faith grows through steady habits, not just bursts of inspiration.Day 3: Dust Off Your Bible - See what God says about temptation.Day 4: Is it Any Wonder? - If God is not present in your life, then your struggle will consume you.Day 5: Where To Go From Here? - You are at a crossroads and it is time to choose.Day 6: Consistency Not Intensity - What you do faithfully, God uses powerfully.Day 7: The Sword In The Stone - God’s Word is there for you, will you receive it?Pornography thrives in secrecy and denial. As Christians, we are called to self-reflect to ensure our faith is genuine and not superficial. One of the best tests you can give yourself is the level at which you trust the Savior. How meaningful, powerful and beautiful is Christ to you? Or ask yourself, "Am I currently turning away from wickedness?"Your faith is the bedrock on which all growth stands. If your faith is strong, you will have the strength to rebuild after failure. If your faith is shallow, the fight will feel impossible. That is why this devotional begins with assessment, not shame, but clarity. It is also important to note that even if you consider your faith to be solid, faith is not something that simply stops growing. There is always room for growth.A faith that stands through temptation is one that is real, tested, and dependent on God. The goal is not to prove how strong you are, it is to rediscover how strong He is.InsightAccording to a 2021 State of the Bible study done by the American Bible Society, 28% of Protestants and 22% of Catholics qualified as practicing Christians.
