How to Fix Your Show Rate Issue Without Getting Better at Sales
If your show rate is broken, book a free 30 minute Gym Clarity Call and we'll find the fix: https://gymclaritycall.com/If leads are opting in but never picking up the phone, or booking consults and ghosting you, this episode is for you. And the answer might not be what you think. Most gym owners assume it's a sales problem. Get better at follow up. Get better on the phone. And yeah, that stuff matters. But after sitting in mastermind rooms for the last several weeks hearing the same complaint over and over, I started noticing a pattern: the gym owners with the worst show rates all had one thing in common. They were putting all their eggs into one marketing basket.Tom and I break down a concept I picked up from a $4,300 phone call with Dan Kennedy called "fertile soil." The idea is simple. When you first start marketing in a niche or platform, you're digging in soft, loose soil. Easy customers. But the longer you stay on one platform without diversifying, the deeper you dig. The soil gets harder. The leads get worse. And eventually you're hitting concrete. The fix isn't to get better at sales. The fix is to find new ponds. We walk through real examples that are working right now: The hyper local newspaper ad that's pulling a 50% show rate and generated $60K in lifetime value off a $4,600 spend. The reactivation play where you text 10 to 15 past members a month with a personal message (not a blanket campaign). The local sports media sponsorship that just opened up 10,000 new email subscribers we've never reached before. The joint venture strategy that filled our post rehab program so fast we had to turn people away.We also kick things off with a story about a hibachi restaurant that has 9,300 Google reviews across four locations and the dead simple system they use to get them. There's a lesson in there for every gym owner.5 Key Takeaways:Your show rate problem might be a marketing problem. If all your leads come from one source and that source has been drying up, getting better at sales won't fix it. You need to find new pockets of fertile soil where higher quality prospects are waiting.20 to 30% of leads showing up for a consultation is a solid show rate. If your number is way higher than that, you probably don't have enough lead volume. If it's way lower, it might be your source, not your skills.Reactivation is one of the most overlooked ponds you already have. If you've been in business 10 years with a 5% churn rate, you've lost over 1,200 people. Text 10 to 15 of them a month with a personal message. Not a template. A real conversation. The best joint ventures come from getting the referral source into your gym as a client. When Dr. Hurley started training with us, referrals went from once a month to a couple a week. Give a free membership to someone who can send you customers and watch what happens. When you sponsor a youth sports league or local organization, don't pay for a banner. Pay for email access to their list. That's where the real return lives because those parents are opening every single email from that program.Book a free Gym Clarity Call and we'll build a plan specific to your business: https://gymclaritycall.com/

Why Your Gym Is Stuck Under $20K Month (The Real Reason Nobody Tells You)
If your gym has been stuck at the same revenue for more than six months, book a free 30 minute Gym Clarity Call and we'll find the one lever holding you back: https://gymclaritycall.com/If your gym has been stuck at the same revenue number for over six months, this episode is for you. And I promise the reason isn't what you think. Most gym owners blame their market, their competition, or their marketing. But after coaching 139 gym owners and running my own gym since 2008, I can tell you it almost always comes down to three structural things that have nothing to do with how many leads you're getting. This is the relaunch of the FBU Podcast with my original co-host Tom Langton back in the chair. Tom was the very first employee at Gabriele Fitness, worked with me for 13 years, went on to own his own gym, and now he's back asking the questions that gym owners actually need answered. We break down why so many gym owners get stuck under $20K a month and stay there way too long. I walk through a real case study of a gym owner named John who was stuck at $13K, working 60 hours a week, and on pace to take another 12 months to hit $20K. We got him there in about a month.5 Key Takeaways:Price is the fastest lever you can pull. If your close rate is near 100% and your retention is solid, you are undercharging. We raised John's price $40 a month on current and new members, and even in a worst case scenario where he lost four people, he was still making more money with fewer clients.Do the math before you freak out. Write down the worst case scenario. How many people do you realistically think you'd lose? Do the math at the new price. Almost every time, you come out ahead. The fear is always bigger in your head than it is in reality.Block time for sales and marketing like it's an appointment. The number one reason gym owners stay stuck isn't a lack of knowledge. It's that they're spending zero dedicated time on getting new customers. Two to three hours a day on sales and marketing activities will change everything.Spend that time on the right things. Joint ventures, referrals, building a great website, emailing your list. Stop building system manuals nobody will read and start walking down the street to introduce yourself to other business owners.Get out of stage one before it breaks you. Training sessions drains 1.3 human energy hours per session, not one. A gym owner doing 30 sessions a week is really burning 39 hours of energy before they touch a single business task. The longer you stay in this grind without a plan, the more likely burnout takes you out of the game entirely.Book a free 30 minute Gym Clarity Call and we'll map out exactly what's holding your gym back: https://gymclaritycall.com/Need help getting more leads, making more money, or buying your time back from your gym business? We're covering how to get more leads to actually show up for a consultation. The one question you need to ask in every sales conversation that changes everything. How to select, present, and raise your prices without losing your members. How to get referrals and upgrade clients from two sessions a week to three. And the mindset shifts that reduce objections like "I need to talk to my spouse" before they even come up.I also walk through the math on why a 10% improvement in your close rate could mean an extra $60K to $120K in lifetime revenue from just one small change. No slides. No pitch at the end. From 10 Members to 143 in Under 2 Years
If you want to learn the strategies and tactics that gym owners like Melissa are using to grow, check out my most recent webinar on YouTube where I break down the full marketing system: https://youtu.be/LC6cODkphtcDon't forget to book your free call with my team and get the Testimonial Email Builder as a bonus: https://api.leadconnectorhq.com/widget/bookings/masterclassbonuscallMelissa Chase opened Chase Fitness in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania in September 2024 with 10 members. She joined SPF two months before she even had a gym. She had no marketing experience, no website knowledge, and had just left a career as a physical therapist assistant. But she knew what she didn't know, and she got the right people in place before she opened the doors.Today, less than two years later, she has 143 members, did just under $300K in gross revenue last year, hit $132K in Q1 of this year alone, and is running at about $32K a month. She's down to 5 to 10 coaching sessions a week, replaced her PTA salary, and just joined a golf league. Her retention rate is "ridiculously low" because the product is dialed in, and her team runs the floor without her. This episode is a masterclass in what happens when you stop trying to figure it all out on your own and invest in the right support before you need it.5 Key Takeaways:Get help before you need it, not after you're drowning. Melissa joined SPF before she even opened. She didn't wait to make mistakes and then go looking for answers. She had accountability, resources, and a community of gym owners who had already been through everything she was about to face.Your website needs to make people say "I can see myself there." Melissa's site shows real clients who look like her ideal members, features Google reviews that describe real transformations (not just "she's so nice"), and has clean, clear calls to action. That combination is converting.Use every finger on the marketing glove. Melissa runs Facebook ads through GMM, does monthly member socials, quarterly Buddy Weeks, joint ventures with local businesses, tables at community festivals, and constantly asks for referrals and Google reviews. She never relies on one source.Take yourself off the floor slowly, not all at once. Melissa started by bringing in one part time coach, transitioned him to full time, then added another. She didn't just disappear from the floor overnight. She made it gradual so members built trust with the new coaches.Hire good people, not good trainers. Melissa hires based on character first. Her exact words: "Are they a good person? I can coach them to coach a squat." Then she holds them accountable to the standards and metrics that keep the business running.Watch my full marketing webinar on YouTube: https://youtu.be/LC6cODkphtcBook your free call and get the Testimonial Email Builder: https://api.leadconnectorhq.com/widget/bookings/masterclassbonuscallNeed help getting more leads, making more money, or buying your time back from your gym business? Chicago Gym Owner Goes from $300k to $760K
If you want to learn the strategies and tactics that gym owners like Anthony are using to grow, check out my most recent webinar on YouTube where I break down the full marketing system: https://youtu.be/LC6cODkphtcDon't forget to book your free call with my team and get the Testimonial Email Builder as a bonus: https://api.leadconnectorhq.com/widget/bookings/masterclassbonuscallPodcast Summary:Anthony D'Astice flew into New Jersey for a consulting day in 2022 with a gym doing about $25K a month, a baby on the way, and zero confidence that he could actually grow the business. He wasn't tracking conversions, wasn't charging enough, and by his own words was "playing business."Three years later, Hustle Strength and Performance just crossed $760K in annual revenue. He just opened his second location. He bought a house and a rental property. And the consulting day paid for itself before he got on the plane home because we raised his prices that afternoon and lost one member. In this episode, Anthony breaks down the full journey: the mindset work that had to happen before anything else, the price raise he was terrified to make, the youth sports sponsorship strategy that's still filling his gym today, and how defining real core values transformed his hiring and culture.5 Key Takeaways:The number one chokehold on your business is the psychology of the owner. Anthony spent the first half of his consulting day on mindset, not marketing. He lacked confidence, was reactive instead of responsive, and was getting in his own way. None of the tactical stuff mattered until his head was right.Do the math before you talk yourself out of raising prices. Anthony had 120 members and raised prices $20 across the board. One person canceled. The worst case scenario we mapped out was break even, and the actual result was thousands in new annual revenue from a single afternoon decision.Sponsorships work when you ask for the right thing. Instead of paying for a banner nobody reads, Anthony pays youth sports leagues to send emails promoting his camps. Kids come in for camps, parents get a free month offer, and parents become adult small group members. He runs 10 of these at a time.A marketing calendar is the difference between growing and guessing. Anthony plans quarterly, ties promotions to holidays and seasons, and looks at what worked last year before planning anything new. It sounds simple because it is.Core values are not words on a wall. Anthony uses his five core values in job application forms, interviews, team meetings, and daily decisions. They became the filter for who gets hired, who gets recognized, and what the culture actually feels like from the inside.Watch my full marketing webinar on YouTube: https://youtu.be/LC6cODkphtcBook your free call and get the Testimonial Email Builder: https://api.leadconnectorhq.com/widget/bookings/masterclassbonuscallNeed help getting more leads, making more money, or buying your time back from your gym business? NJ Gym Owner Goes From Bleeding Cash and Wanting to Close the Gym... to Big Profits and a Second Gym
FREE MASTERCLASS: Fix the Marketing at Your Gym Thursday, March 26th at 12pm Eastern on Zoom Learn how to install the system that gets 7 to 13 new clients per month without paid ads. Register here: https://live.vincegabriele.com/livemasterclassCaesar Hernandez was 12 years into the gym business, burning cash every month, one foot in and one foot out, and seriously ready to throw in the towel. His wife had lost her job. His second kid was on the way. He wasn't sleeping. He wasn't looking at his numbers. And he wasn't profitable. He hadn't turned a real profit since COVID.Then he booked a consulting day with me and we sat down in the lobby of an Embassy Suites and faced the brutal truth together. The theme of that day was simple: stop the bleeding. We cut the fat on his payroll, got crystal clear on his role, and I kicked his ass right back into the business he'd been sleepwalking through. That was the turning point. Four years later, Caesar has nearly doubled his revenue from $28K a month (and losing money) to $48K a month with healthy margins. He's on pace to hit his first $500K year. He hasn't coached a session since last year. He has breakfast with his kids every morning and dinner with his family every night. And he just got the keys to his second location, which is in presale right now. This episode is for every gym owner out there who's burnt out, questioning whether they can turn it around, and thinking the only answer is to quit. Caesar's proof that it's not.5 Key Takeaways:All progress starts with the truth. Caesar thought he was in a decent spot financially, but when we actually looked at the numbers, the business was bleeding cash. You cannot fix what you refuse to face. Know your numbers and know what they actually mean. One foot in and one foot out never works. Caesar had grown resentful of his business and was just going through the motions. The moment he committed fully and got both feet back in the circle, everything started to shift.Stop the bleeding before you try to grow. Caesar was overspending on staff he didn't need and roles he couldn't justify. Before we talked marketing or growth, we trimmed the fat and got the business back to a place where it could breathe.Get clear on your role. Caesar was paying other people to do things the owner needed to be doing. We defined exactly what his job was: lead the team, make the sales, and keep a finger on the pulse of the business. Focus is the superpower.Your business is the vehicle, not the enemy. Caesar had built up resentment toward the very thing that was providing for his family. Shifting from "I'm done with this" to "this business gives me the opportunity to build the future I want" changed everything.FREE MASTERCLASS: Fix the Marketing at Your Gym Thursday, March 26th at 12pm Eastern on Zoom Register here: https://live.vincegabriele.com/livemasterclassNeed help getting more leads, making more money, or buying your time back from your gym business? How to Fix the Marketing At Your Gym
FREE MASTERCLASS: Fix the Marketing at Your Gym Thursday, March 26th at 12pm Eastern on Zoom. Learn how to install the system that gets 7 to 13 new clients per month without paid ads. Register here: https://live.vincegabriele.com/livemasterclassI just dropped a quick one for you. I'm hosting a free live masterclass called "Fix the Marketing at Your Gym" and I'm going to walk you through the exact system that gets 7 to 13 new clients per month without spending a dime on paid ads.Why 7 to 13? Because I'm not a guru promising you 50 new members a month. I don't even want that for you. That's an operational nightmare. What I want is for you to build a consistent, repeatable system that nets you 4 to 7 members every single month after churn. Do that at $300 to $400 a month and the math starts looking really good, really fast. Here's what we're covering: exactly what to say in your marketing to attract clients who pay, stay, and refer the most. Where pockets of your ideal clients are hiding right now that you're not marketing to (I'll share how one newspaper ad just booked us 9 consults and has already produced 2 members worth $24K in lifetime value off an $1,800 spend). The exact text message to send that turns dead leads into paying clients. And how AI is changing the way people find gyms and what you need to do right now to make sure you show up in those answers.I'm also giving away some free tools I've been building behind the scenes but these aren't generic AI outputs. These are built on 19 years of real marketing that actually works, just made faster. You'll only get them if you show up live.No pitch at the end. No pressure. Just me hanging out with you on a Thursday afternoon talking marketing. Register and I'll see you there.FREE MASTERCLASS: Fix the Marketing at Your Gym Thursday, March 26th at 12pm Eastern on Zoom. Business Secrets of a Pittsburgh Gym That Went From 10k to 30k/month in PROFIT…and recently opened their 3rd location with 61 members on day 1!
Ready to stop guessing and start growing your gym with a real plan?Click below to book a call and see what that could look like for your business.https://api.leadconnectorhq.com/widget/bookings/implentationpodPodcast SummaryIn this episode of Business Secrets for Gym Owners, Vince sits down with Jason DeRose — a longtime gym owner, entrepreneur, and SPF Mastermind member — who quietly built a highly profitable gym business while expanding into supplements, real estate, and multiple locations.Jason didn’t join the Mastermind because he was struggling — his gyms were already doing about $10K/month in profit. But after getting re-exposed to the fundamentals, he realized something most gym owners miss: he wasn’t broken — he was just out of alignment. What followed was a complete reorganization of his business — tightening systems, refocusing his team, and getting back to what actually works. The result? His gyms nearly tripled in profit, and he just opened a new location with 61 pre-sale members at $400/month.This episode is a reminder that growth doesn’t always come from doing more — it comes from doing the right things, consistently, at a higher level.5 Key Points1. Reorganization Creates GrowthJason didn’t need new ideas — he needed to get back to the fundamentals that already worked and execute them better.2. Right People, Right SeatsOne of the biggest breakthroughs came from restructuring his team and eliminating overlap between businesses so everyone had clear focus.3. Weekly Staff Meetings Fix Problems FastMeeting with every team member weekly allowed Jason to solve small issues before they became big ones — improving retention and performance.4. Bring Back the Marketing CalendarReinstalling a structured quarterly marketing calendar eliminated guesswork and ensured consistent promotions that actually drive revenue.5. Hiring Through Mentorship, Not GuessworkInstead of hiring off interviews, Jason uses a 30-day mentorship process to evaluate candidates in real scenarios — dramatically improving hiring quality.Ready to stop guessing and start growing your gym with a real plan?Click below to book a call and see what that could look like for your business.https://api.leadconnectorhq.com/widget/bookings/implentationpodNeed help getting more leads, making more money, or buying your time back from your gym business? Why Calling Lady Gaga Fat Created a Viral Opportunity
Grab your free copy of The Eight Profit Levers. It’s a 35-minute read that gives you eight specific things to do to make more money at your gym: https://8profitlevers.com/podcast.Episode SummaryI’m fresh back from our Gympronos event in Orlando, and honestly, it was epic. I spent three days—72 hours of work—looking for the most actionable takeaways I could bring back to you.In this episode, I’m getting vulnerable about my own recovery and energy management , and why I’m more optimistic about owning a brick-and-mortar gym right now than I’ve ever been. We talk about the "Tony Soprano" mindset, why some gurus are kicking themselves for selling their gyms, and why the "scale of impact" matters just as much as how many locations you have.5 Key TakeawaysEnergy is your life force: If you have more energy, you’re a better spouse, a better parent, and a better gym owner. Managing your peak feeling each day is a business strategy, not just a health goalThe "Four Cs" Breakthrough: You don’t get confidence first. You start with Commitment, move through Courage (which feels exactly like fear), acquire Capability, and then you get the Confidence.Trust-Based Business vs. AI: AI is creating a "copycat economy" with a lot of "AI slop" in marketing. You win by leaning into your personal brand and expert status because you cannot be copied.Fish in the right ponds: Look at your top 20 clients and see what they’re actually into—whether it's golf, sailing, or real estate. There’s a massive marketing opportunity sitting right in front of you if you just look at who your best buyers already are.Drive the culture through definitions: Your number one job as an owner is to drive the culture. The best way to do that is to have clearly defined core values that your team actually knows and lives by.Grab your free copy of The Eight Profit Levers. This Gym Hit 1.85MM!

Click here to schedule a free one on one strategy session!Podcast SummaryIn this episode of Business Secrets for Gym Owners, Vince sits down with TJ Lopez, owner of AMP Athletic Movement Protocol, to break down the real story behind building a $1.85 million gym business — and why it took far more than talent or hustle to get there.TJ shares his journey from running an athlete-only training facility with extreme revenue swings, constant stress, and total dependence on himself, to building a stable, scalable business powered by systems, leadership, and a thriving adult fitness program.Starting out of a converted bathroom inside a baseball facility, TJ spent years riding the emotional rollercoaster common to sports performance gyms — big seasonal highs followed by painful lows. Despite a strong reputation and elite athlete clientele, the business lacked predictability, structure, and long-term sustainability.Everything changed when TJ stopped trying to do everything himself. By committing to mentorship, shifting from “how do I do this?” to “who can help me do this?”, and finally taking adult fitness seriously as a core pillar of the business, AMP began to scale.Through strategic hires, paid marketing, challenge-based campaigns, and a relentless focus on retention, TJ grew the adult program from under 30 members to over 185 high-value clients — transforming cash flow, margins, and peace of mind.Today, AMP operates multiple locations, generates over $1.85 million annually, and runs with true role clarity, leadership cadence, and accountability. This episode is a deep look at what sustainable gym growth really requires — and why most owners stay stuck until they change how they think, lead, and build.5 Key PointsAthlete-Only Models Create Hidden Risk Seasonal revenue swings and emotional stress make long-term growth nearly impossible without an adult program.Stability Comes From Systems, Not Reputation Even elite credibility won’t replace predictable marketing, sales, and retention processes.Who Not How Changes Everything Hiring the right people and leveraging experts unlocked growth TJ could never achieve alone. One Focused Hire Can Transform the Business Bringing in a dedicated leader for adult fitness turned a neglected program into the engine of growth.Accountability Creates Confidence Quarterly planning, peer accountability, and clear targets replaced chaos with control and certainty.Need help getting more leads, making more money, or buying your time back from your gym business? What Keeps Gyms Stuck at 20K FOREVER (interview with Thomas Plummer)
Tired of winging it? Want a real playbook for gym growth without burnout? Click the link below to learn more about the 3-day marketing conference built for gym owners like you: https://gympranos.com/podcastPodcast SummaryIn this episode of Business Secrets for Gym Owners, Vince sits down with the legend himself — Thomas Plummer — to answer one powerful question:What keeps gym owners stuck at $20K–$30K per month… forever? Drawing on nearly 50 years in the fitness industry and over 1,100 workshops taught around the world, Tom breaks down the patterns he’s seen over and over again between struggling gym owners and those who build real wealth and freedom. From ego and resistance to change, to lack of clarity about what the business is actually supposed to do for your life, Tom explains why so many owners stay busy — but never truly profitable. The conversation dives deep into commitment, evolution, sales mastery, and the difference between treating your gym like a job versus treating it like a vehicle to create long-term freedom. This episode is a masterclass in humility, leadership, and the mindset shifts required to break past mediocrity and build something meaningful.5 Key PointsMost Owners Don’t Know What They Want If you don’t define what the business is meant to do for your life, you’ll drift — and drifting leads to stagnation. How To Fill Your Empty Sessions
Tired of winging it? Want a real playbook for gym growth without burnout?Click the link below to learn more about the 3-day marketing conference built for gym owners like you: https://gympranos.com/podcastPodcast SummaryIn this episode of Business Secrets for Gym Owners, Vince tackles one of the most overlooked profit leaks in the fitness industry: empty training sessions.Using examples from businesses like Medieval Times and the hotel industry, Vince explains why capacity — not just leads or pricing — is one of the fastest ways to increase revenue without adding more work, staff, or overhead. If a session costs the same to run whether it has one person or six, empty spots represent lost profit.Vince breaks down how to properly track session capacity, why most gym owners don’t look at this number consistently, and what a healthy benchmark actually looks like. He explains why aiming for roughly 80–83% capacity creates the best balance between profitability, energy, and client experience. The episode also covers practical ways to fix low-capacity sessions: adjusting schedules, reducing excess session offerings, improving time-based marketing, and building intentional promotion plans to fill blocks before they start. This is a must-listen for gym owners who feel busy but aren’t seeing the profit to match — because the answer may already be sitting on their schedule.5 Key PointsCapacity Is a Profit Multiplier The cost to run a session stays the same — empty spots are pure lost revenue.Track Capacity Weekly If you don’t measure it consistently, you can’t fix it or improve it.80–83% Is the Sweet Spot Five out of six spots filled creates strong margins without burning out staff or frustrating clients.Too Many Sessions Kill Energy Low-attendance sessions hurt culture, experience, and profitability.Market Time Blocks Intentionally Fill sessions before they start with structured renewal, reactivation, and outreach plans.Tired of winging it? From finally getting real mentorship, fixing his marketing and follow-up, narrowing his focus to the right client, and committing fully to small-group personal training — Tony explains how clarity and consistency replaced chaos. The episode also dives into the resilience required to keep going when life hits hard — including a traumatic spinal cord injury, a major surgery, opening a new facility right before COVID shutdowns, and continuing to lead with integrity even when it cost him financially in the short term.Over four and a half years, Tony and his wife paid off every dollar of debt, grew the business to over $67K per month, and built a gym rooted in values, leadership, and long-term sustainability. This is more than a business story — it’s a masterclass in perseverance, focus, and doing the right thing even when it’s hard.5 Key PointsHard Work Without Direction Is a Trap Tony was working nonstop — but without the right strategy, effort alone only created more exhaustion. The Right Mentor Changes the Trajectory Clear guidance around marketing, follow-up, and ideal clients unlocked growth almost immediately.Focus Beats Fancy By narrowing the business to one clear model and one clear avatar, momentum finally followed.Integrity Always Wins Long-Term From honoring contracts during COVID to leading with values, Tony built trust that fueled retention and referrals. One Clear Goal Can Pull You Through Anything Paying off debt became the singular focus — and that clarity drove every decision and sacrifice.Tired of winging it? If You Hired Me For a Full Day to Grow Your Gym, This is What We Would Do
Tired of winging it? Want a real playbook for gym growth without burnout? Click the link below to learn more about the 3-day marketing conference built for gym owners like you: https://gympranos.com/podcastPodcast SummaryIn this episode of Business Secrets for Gym Owners, Vince breaks down exactly what he would do if you hired him for a full day to grow your gym — not theory, but the real “under the hood” framework he uses to create breakthroughs for owners who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what to focus on next. He explains that most owners don’t need more hustle — they need clarity, certainty, and a structure that helps them see their business objectively. The process starts with vision: getting crystal clear on what you actually want in 12 months (and beyond), because if you don’t know where you’re going, it’s impossible to build the right plan. From there, Vince reviews the last 90 days of numbers to identify what’s really happening — because data is the truth-teller. Instead of reacting emotionally to one “bad month,” he looks at trends to pinpoint the real constraints: leads, conversions, attrition, profit, attendance, and usage. Next, he tackles the org chart and people structure — because most business problems are people problems. Vince maps the roles the business actually needs, identifies who owns what, and builds a path for delegation and leadership so the owner isn’t trapped in every box. Finally, the day ends with a 90-day execution plan: the specific projects, hires, systems, and priorities that will move the business forward — plus targeted problem-solving around the biggest issues keeping the gym from breaking through. 5 Key PointsClarity Starts With Vision If you don’t know what you want, you can’t build a plan — a clear 12-month vision is non-negotiable. Data Tells You What to Fix Next Looking at 90-day trends (not emotional snapshots) reveals the real constraints and where focus should go. Solving Problems Is the Job Breakthroughs come faster when you stop treating problems like emergencies and start treating them like a normal part of ownership. Org Charts Reduce Stress and Chaos Defining roles, ownership, and accountability helps you stop doing everything — and builds a business that runs without you. 90-Day Plans Create Momentum Owners build confidence by setting clear priorities and finishing what they start — one quarter at a time. The 4 Cornerstones of Confidence
Tired of winging it? Want a real playbook for gym growth without burnout? Click the link below to learn more about the 3-day marketing conference built for gym owners like you: https://gympranos.com/podcastPodcast SummaryIn this episode of Business Secrets for Gym Owners, Vince breaks down what he calls the “4 Cornerstones of Confidence” — a simple framework he learned through Dan Kennedy and Dr. Maxwell Maltz that explains how confidence is built (and protected) through repeatable habits, not personality. Using Tony Soprano as a fun reference point, Vince explains that confidence isn’t about pretending you have it — it’s about building internal stability so you can lead, make decisions, and stay calm under pressure. He walks through the four pillars: managing the voice in your head, developing skills, gaining knowledge, and improving your ability to relax. Vince also shares practical tools that helped him personally reduce anxiety and improve his ability to stay steady — including meditation and a specific breathing protocol (in for 4, out for 7) done consistently. He then connects the message back to gym ownership: confident leaders create confident teams, and teams that feel steady build stronger businesses. The episode closes with an invitation to the Gym Pranos event, designed to help gym owners become the boss their business needs through skill-building, leadership development, and a clear 90-day plan. 5 Key PointsManage the Voice in Your Head The internal voice never disappears — confidence improves when you stop reacting emotionally to it. Skill Development Builds Confidence As your marketing, leadership, and business skills grow, confidence naturally follows. Knowledge Creates Certainty Learning daily and sharpening your understanding of business removes uncertainty and increases control. Relaxation Is a Performance Skill If you’re always tense and anxious, you can’t lead well — learning to relax improves decision-making and presence. Confidence Is Mechanical, Not Magical Confidence is built through consistent practices — not luck, personality, or hype. Tired of winging it? Want a real playbook for gym growth without burnout? 5-7 Ideas to Get New Clients and Get Them to Stay Forever
Tired of winging it? Want a real playbook for gym growth without burnout? Click the link below to learn more about the 3-day marketing conference built for gym owners like you: https://gympranos.com/podcast Podcast SummaryIn this episode of Business Secrets for Gym Owners, Vince shares practical, in-the-trenches lessons pulled from eight full days of consulting with gym owners — specifically around how to get more clients, keep them longer, and stop relying on a constant marketing grind to replace churn. He explains why improving retention even slightly (as little as 1%) can create massive growth over a year, while also reducing the pressure to constantly generate leads. From there, Vince breaks down several real strategies gym owners are using right now to improve retention: consistent client check-ins, tracking attendance trends before members disappear, and upgrading coaching quality — because the people on your floor ultimately drive results, referrals, and retention. Vince also dives into simple marketing ideas that create word of mouth and improve conversion: building “talk triggers” that clients can’t help but share, tightening your coaching environment so clients feel truly coached (not ignored in a spread-out session), and adding small amounts of personalization in follow-up instead of relying only on automation. This episode is a rapid-fire playbook of real ideas you can implement immediately — to get more leads, keep clients longer, and build a business that grows without burnout. 5 Key PointsRetention Is the Real Growth Lever Improving attrition by even 1% can create a surprising revenue and stability increase over 12 months. Proactive Check-Ins Prevent Cancellations Quarterly goal reviews (in-person or short calls) and consistent client touchpoints keep members engaged and committed. Track Attendance Before It Becomes a Quit When visits drop from 12/month to 9… to 7… people start questioning why they’re paying — and churn follows. Create “Talk Triggers” That Drive Referrals Build memorable moments or symbols in your gym that clients brag about (like a standout strength milestone) to spark word of mouth. Personalization Beats Automation in Follow-Up A short personal video, a real text, or a direct call can outperform a “perfect” automated sequence — especially for reactivation. Tired of winging it? Click the link below to learn more about the 3-day marketing conference built for gym owners like you: https://gympranos.com/podcastPodcast SummaryIn this episode of Business Secrets for Gym Owners, Vince breaks down why focus isn’t about working harder — it’s about having the right structure in place to consistently make the right decisions.Using real-world examples from professional sports, elite gym owners, and his own experience, Vince explains how even highly talented operators struggle when they lack systems, accountability, and clarity. Just like great athletes thrive in the right system, gym owners perform best when they operate inside a structure that forces them to slow down, evaluate, and execute with intention.Vince pulls back the curtain on what actually keeps high-performing gym owners focused: regularly reviewing key numbers, setting quarterly priorities, and surrounding themselves with second voices that challenge assumptions and prevent emotional decision-making.This episode is a deep dive into why most gym owners feel overwhelmed, stressed, and reactive — and how installing simple accountability rhythms can replace chaos with certainty, control, and confidence.5 Key PointsStructure Creates Focus Gym owners don’t lack motivation — they lack a system that forces them to pause, reflect, and prioritize.Critical Numbers Drive Everything Leads, trials, new clients, and attrition tell you more about your business than your profit and loss statement ever will.Quarterly Goals Build Confidence Confidence grows when you consistently do what you say you’re going to do — one quarter at a time.Accountability Beats Willpower Most owners won’t review financials or set priorities without external accountability and deadlines.Focus Creates Certainty When you know what matters and what to work on next, stress drops and decision-making improves.Tired of winging it? These aren’t polished reviews — they’re real screenshots, messages, and stories that show transformation in both business and life.Vince breaks down how you can use the same approach in your own gym: collecting authentic stories, highlighting transformation, and using that social proof across every part of your marketing.5 Key PointsReal Beats Perfect A simple screenshot of a client’s heartfelt message is more powerful than any scripted testimonial.Capture Transformation, Not Praise The best testimonials don’t say “you’re great” — they show how someone’s life or health truly changed.Ask the Right Questions Don’t ask for reviews. Ask clients to tell their story — where they were before, what changed, and what life looks like now.Repurpose Everything Use your testimonials across your website, emails, ads, and social posts. One story can create dozens of marketing assets.Find the Gold Line Every testimonial has one sentence that hits hardest — the “I went from X to Y” moment. Click the link to learn how to get started: https://coaching.vincegabriele.com/fbu-podcast-acceleratorPodcast SummaryIn this no-fluff episode, Vince breaks down what struggling gym owners really need to hear if they’re making less than $25K a month. Drawing on his own experiences raising prices, visiting mastermind members, and testing tactics in his own gym, Vince keeps it real about the hard truth: scaling isn’t about fancy systems or endless cleaning—it’s about focusing on money-making activities every single day. From practical referral strategies to courageous price increases, Vince shows that getting past the $25K barrier isn’t magic—it’s consistent, courageous action on the things that actually grow the business.5 Key PointsFocus on Customer Acquisition Stop hiding behind busywork. How to Go From 8K to 45K Per Month in Less Than 12 Months
If you want Vince’s book The Ultimate Guide to Hiring Version 2, click here.Email Vince directly at: [email protected] Summary In this episode, Vince shares the incredible story of Christoph, a 23-year-old SPF Mastermind member who went from earning $8,000 a month to $45,000 a month in less than a year. Despite running a small 900-square-foot gym, Christoph was able to scale rapidly by charging the right prices, creating an exciting and referable product, and protecting himself from burnout. Vince highlights the importance of understanding the four stages of fitness business success, charging enough to sustain growth, and focusing on product quality to fuel organic referrals. This episode is an inspiring look at what’s possible when gym owners make a few critical shifts in pricing, product delivery, and mindset.Top 5 PointsCharge the Right Price – Undercharging keeps owners stuck in stage one. Aim to earn at least $200 per hour in your gym to create separation and profitability.Product Must Be Good Enough – Your service doesn’t have to be world-class right away, but it must be referable and create excitement so clients spread the word.Protect Against Burnout – Stage one requires long hours, but if the owner burns out, the business dies. Prioritize health, stress management, and fitness to maintain momentum.Leverage Early-Stage Momentum – New businesses naturally generate buzz. Use that excitement to drive referrals and community engagement.Get Inspired, Not Discouraged – Instead of comparing yourself negatively to others’ success, get curious about what they’re doing differently and apply those lessons. If you want Vince’s book The Ultimate Guide to Hiring Version 2, click here.Email Vince directly at: [email protected] help getting more leads, making more money, or buying your time back from your gym business?
