Eschatology 109 - Biblical Israel vs. Modern (geo-political) Israel

The Temptation to Hate - A Reflection on the Death of Charlie Kirk

In this special episode, we discuss the implications of the death of Charlie Kirk and the potential aftermath. How do we, as Christians, handle what happened? What should we do now that this tragedy has happened? The Bible has things to say about this. None of this is easy, but it is important to discuss. #temptation #hatred #evil #love #mercy #justice #tragedy #charliekirk #tpusafaith #christ #solideogloria #solascriptura #romans12 #1thessalonians4 #fortitudeintruth #reactions #emotions #bible

    Eschatology 108 - The Eschaton

Eschatology 107 - Three Views of the Millennium

This week, Nate and Andrew tackle premillennialism (historic and dispensational), amillennialism, and postmillennialism. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. We need to see all of these in light of what Scripture actually says. No single view gets everything right, and that must be remembered. #eschatology #podcast #fortitudeintruth #premillennial #amillennial #postmillennial #revelation #revelation20 #oldtestament #newtestament #bible #canon #dicussion #hermeneutic #dispensation #covenant #israel #solascriptura

Eschatology 106 - Covenantalism and Progressive Covenantalism

This week, we dive back into our discussion of eschatology and biblical covenants with a discussion on Covenantalism and its progressive ally. There is much that these view points have to offer, but there is also reason to exercise caution. All of our theologies need to be scrutinized against the Scriptures (not the other way around). Eschatology 105 - Dispensationalism and Progressive Dispensationalism

This week, we take a look at two similar views on how to understand the relationship between the covenants and how they interact with each other and the canon of Scripture. Eschatology 101 - Understanding Biblical Prophecy

The study of the end times has been a hot topic as of late. Scripture certainly has something to say. But not all prophecy is future telling or speaks of the Last Days. Biblical Illiteracy and its Effects on the Church w/ Pastor James Chambers

Join us for a special video interview edition of Fortitude in Truth with Pastor James Chambers. In this episode, we discuss the issue of biblical illiteracy (spoilers... it's not just reading) and its detrimental effects on the Church. VIDEO LINK - https://youtu.be/oXilHGer-hsNotes From Pastor James ChambersIn our discussion, we brought up church membership. In The Master's Fellowship Guide, this is our statement on this topic. While all united to Christ by faith immediately become a part of the universalchurch, the Lord desires His followers to live out that relationship by means of a formal commitment to membership in a visible, local church. Such congregations of believers have joined together under the oversight of qualified elders for the worship of the Lord, the discipleship and edification of the saints, the practice of the ordinances, and to be equipped to evangelize the lost (Rom 12:3–6; 1 Cor 12:12ff; Eph 4:11–16). Given Scripture’s prescriptions for church government, corrective discipline, and mutual love and service, there must be a reciprocal commitment of membership between the believer and the local church: the church commits to protect and care for the believer, and the believer commits to submit to the teaching, oversight, and discipline of the church (1 Thess 5:12–13; 1 Tim 5:17–18; Heb 13:17).MENTIONED LINKS BELOWGrounds for Belief Community Church28400 Little Mack Ave.St Clair Shores, MI 48081www.groundsforbelief.orgwww.facebook.com/groundsforbeliefchurchYouTube Channel:  @PreacherJimC  Podcast Channel: https://open.spotify.com/show/3IdfDbEtvfqfCotkbKi3xW?si=_kr3nTMfQCqj0SXh76i4OASubstack Channel: https://pastorjameschambers.substack.com/Pastor Jim's Book Recommendations:https://a.co/d/7U3CkHQhttps://a.co/d/hxUchaWhttps://a.co/d/a0mIlDVhttps://a.co/d/6sNOfNv#bible #literacy #illiteracy #biblicalliteracy #videopodcast #podcast #interview #pastors #church #fortitudeintruth #solascriptura #jesuschrist #biblepassage #isaiah #ligonierministries #masters #chaplain #ecclesiology

    Personal Discipline and Discernment

A big part of learning how to build your discernment "muscle" is practice. Practice comes by spending a lot of time in the Word of God and prayer. In this episode, we explore the importance of personal discipline, examining what needs to be discerned (our own lives and decisions or false teachers). We also drop in another case study of some popular false teachings that have been going around. #discernment #discipline #personaldiscipline #intentional #bible #biblereading #prayer #praytoGod #goodhabits #examine #test #falseteachers #casestudy #podcast #fortitudeintruth

Discerning God's Will for Your Life

    Discipleship and Discernment

In this week's episode, we discuss the crucial role that discipleship plays in learning and applying discernment. As Christians, we are called to "do life together." This discussion seeks to frame that context and apply it to the life of the faithful Christian, using God's Word to weed out false teaching, clinging to His Will, which is revealed by His Word. #podcast #discernment #disciple #discipleship #Hebrews3 #Hebrews10 #Epheisans4 #Matthew28 #Greatcommission #doctrine #Bible #solascriptura #coramdeo #bibleapplication #fortitudeintruth #truth #falseteaching #bereans #heresy #dilligence #discipline # prayer #study

This special episode of Fortitude in Truth features a full-length interview with Dr. Scott Callaham of ‪@dailydoseofaramaic‬ and ‪@FoundersMinistries‬ We spend the majority of our time discussing the authority and sufficiency of Scripture, especially as it relates to missions, biblical languages, seminaries, creeds, confessions, etc. Daily Dose of Aramaic: https://dailydoseofaramaic.com/Biblical Aramaic for Biblical Interpreters: https://www.amazon.com/Biblical-Arama...The Chinese version of Biblical Aramaic for Biblical Interpreters: https://twcbbook.com/product/113748/s...World Mission: Theology, Strategy, and Current Issues: https://www.amazon.com/World-Mission-...Logos edition: https://www.logos.com/product/169185/...The Chinese version of World Mission: https://twcbbook.com/product/114741/p...Logos edition: <a...

  26. 59

Coram Deo (Before the Face of God)

What does Coram Deo mean? What does it truly mean to live before the face of God? How can we grow in our understanding and holiness by applying this biblical principle to our lives? We answer all these questions and more this week on Fortitude in Truth.

  27. 58

Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone)

This week, we unpack the final Sola, which is by no means the least important. Scripture is full of references ascribing glory to God and Him alone. Join us as we delve into the history and Bible to find out what it really means to live Soli Deo Gloria.

  28. 57

    Solus Christus (Christ Alone)

Join us this week as we explore Solus Christus. While the Reformers certainly believed this, this belief can be traced directly back to Scripture.

  29. 56

    Sola Gratia (Grace Alone)

Join us as we take a look at the biblical precedence of Sola Gratia. Grace alone is how God chose to save us, not by any work that we could do. All our righteousness is as filthy rags and could never merit what the law requires for salvation. But, thanks be to God who delivered us from this body of death.

  30. 55

    Sola Fide (Faith Alone)

Another week, another Sola. Sola Fide, faith alone, is a strong teaching of Scripture that is applicable to everyday life. Listen along as we dissect the history and biblical teachings of Sola Fide.

  31. 54

    Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone)

Scripture is sufficient and authoritative. Join us as we explore the history, theology, and Scriptural accuracy of this doctrine. There is much that can be learned from Scripture in light of this, and even more that is meant to be applied to everyday life.

  32. 53

    The Five Solas (Solae)

In light of our recent discussions on the attributes of God, we felt it fitting to turn to history and unpack the "Solas." In this episode, we give a brief overview and history. In the coming weeks, we will deal with one individually, hoping that you can take the principles and apply them to your life.

  33. 52

    The Problem of Evil

It's 2025, and we are back and ready to go. Building on our previous discussion of God's attributes, this week, we will discuss the "Problem of Evil" and how to deal with it.

  34. 51

    The Trinity

This week, we attempt to describe the Trinity. Assuredly, this is not an easy task. There are some things about the Trinity that are plain in Scripture, and other things that are left a mystery (incomprehensible). However, we must avoid heresy, and cling to what is true, and embrace what we do not understand. Our God is three in one.

  35. 50

The Communicable Attributes of God - pt. 2

This week, we delve further into the attributes of God that we are meant to emulate: veracity, benevolence, righteousness, persistence, love, and mercy.

  36. 49

    Happy Thanksgiving!

From our families to yours, we want to wish you a happy Thanksgiving Day. We all have much to be thankful for, but none greater than our undeserved salvation.

  37. 48

The Communicable Attributes of God - pt. 1

This week, we introduce the communicable attributes of God, the attributes that we are meant to emulate. We also discuss His graciousness, His justice, His goodness, and His Holiness.

  38. 47

The Being of God - pt. 2

This week we address the "omnis" of God. He is all-powerful, all-wise, all-knowing, and ever-present. All of these are interrelated to one another, as well as to all His other attributes.

  39. 46

The Being of God - pt. 1

In this episode, Nate and Andrew discuss the aseity, eternalness, immanence, and transcendence of God. Scripture has revealed to us who God is, and we need to continue to study it, understand it, and act accordingly.

  40. 45

An Introduction to the Attributes of God

Shifting from politics and religion back to God. This episode starts a new series in which we will discuss God's attributes. Understanding who God is is crucial so we can love and worship Him better.

  41. 44

    America, The Church, and Israel

Things often get muddied when discussing OT biblical Israel compared to the modern Nation-States of Israel and America. Scripture can help guide these discussions, providing clarity and refocusing them on what is truly important: Christ.

  42. 43

    How to Vote Biblically

Voting is certainly a hot topic. In this episode, we may not give you who/what to vote for, but we will undoubtedly help equip you as you seek to reconcile your voting practices to Scripture. This is a complicated topic, and much grace and love must be exercised. We must love God first, but we are also called to love our neighbor (yes, even someone who votes differently from you) as ourselves.

  43. 42

    American Christian Nationalism

What is American Christian Nationalism? Is it Christian? Is it Dangerous? We answer these questions and more based on the Truth of Scripture.

  44. 41

    Scripture and Political Platforms

The political climate in America is heating up. This week, we discuss some major platforms of the major political parties in America, how they relate to our understanding of Scripture, and how to live as a Christian in a "foreign land."

  45. 40

    Principles, Preferences, and Civil Disobedience

In this episode, Andrew and Nate discuss the implications of being a Christian in a pagan nation/world. We are not called to disobey at every turn, but when the law of the land requires us to disobey God, we must obey God rather than man.

  46. 39

Freedom of Religion, Rebellion, and the Bible.

Freedom of Religion is important to many Americans, but is it biblical? And is it our right to defend it as Christians? Should Christians rebel against their government? There are lots of questions and hopefully a few good answers to understand the interactions between Christianity and the government.

  47. 38

First and Foremost, Citizens of Heaven

What is the mission of the Church? What should guide Christians in times of political and social turmoil and upheaval? We answer these questions and more to help the Church continue to grow in the face of chaos and persecution.

  48. 37

The Foundations of God and Government

In modern times, Christians are faced with difficult choices regarding family and politics. In these episode, we lay a foundation for further discussion on these issues, guided by the principles set out by Scripture.

  49. 36

Academia Today - "The Hermeneutics of the Biblical Writers: Learning to Interpret Scripture From the Prophets and Apostles"

In this week's episode, we discuss Dr. Abner Chou's book on biblical hermeneutics. The biblical authors were also exegetes and theologians, and we can learn much from them.

  50. 35

Intertextuality - New Testament Use of Old Testament

The New Testament writers frequently reference the Old Testament. It is important to understand not only their purpose but also how they interpreted the Old Testament text to arrive at this conclusion.
