However, there are some prophecies that when fulfilled, point to a literal temple in which circumcision, priestly restrictions on marriage, land inheritance, etc demand that the law of Moses remains in effect. There are times in prophetic literature where the prophets appear to blend the present with the future. This often makes interpretation of their prophecies difficult. However, they always leave enough information for one to detemine and distinguish between what cannot possiblyy be the present or the future as particular statements are considered.As in Daniel and Jeremiah, we are finding similar themes in Ezekiel. Ezekiel 37:1-14 is a background for much of what the Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3 on the new temple of God. The temple was established in the last days and forms the basis of the teaching of Christ and the apostles including the book of Revelation. 

The foundation for a study of the resurrection in its covenantal setting of 2 Corinthians 3-5 is Ezekiel 37. The work of the Spirit is fundamental in establishing this premise. The connections and correlations are unmistakeable and we must see the contrast between the Old Covenant House (temple) and the heavenly house. These are developed more thoroughly in the broadcast.

We continue our study of the Messianic Temple from Ezekiel 37, where the Spirit role is seen in the raising of the whole house of Israel, the gathering of the twelve tribes and the building of the new tabernacle with the Messiah King David (Jesus Christ) as it's head. 

What is the role of the Holy Spirit in resurrection. Ezekiel makes it clear that all twelve tribes, i.e. the whole house of Israel would be raised under the Messianic David in the last days. As the 10 northern tribes were taken into Assyrian captivity in 721 BC, and later into Babylonian captivity when the Babylonians conquered them, all twelve tribes were in the land of Babylon. The Holy Spirit would bring them out of the land and accomplish their redemption, regathering and resurrection.
