The Persistent Widow and Jesus' Teaching on Prayer - Luke 18:1-8
Luke 18 records Jesus telling the parable of the persistent widow. She pesters the unjust judge until he gives her justice. Jesus points out that if persistence pays with selfish people, how much more with the loving God? The parable presumes God is not into instant results as we are. Gospel of Luke in a Nutshell
The Bible has four Gospels that tell us about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, but each one has its distinctives. The Gospel of Luke could be described as "Jesus for the Gentiles." Luke is an investigative reporter on the life of Jesus and gives the longest and perhaps the most comprehensive account of Jesus' life. Luke emphasizes the historical reality of the person of Jesus who lived, died and rose again. Living by the Holy Spirit - Galatians 5:16-26

Gospel of Mark in a Nutshell
The Bible has four Gospels that tell us about the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, but each one has its distinctives. The Gospel of Mark could be described as "Jesus for the Romans." Mark is the shortest of the four Gospels but is fast-paced, depicting Jesus like an action hero who defeats demons and diseases and death.
