A Word With You - Someone Else Has Walked There First - #10264
There's something invigorating about being the first one out and around in the morning; you sort of feel like the conqueror of your environment. Like when you're the first one out exercising in those first hours of the new day. I had that feeling one morning as I went out for my fitness walk. I really like to walk when I'm away from home, too. And I was in a setting where right behind me there was this really scenic 18-hole golf course. I'm not a golfer, but I am a walker. There was a beautiful path around there, so I struck out on my early morning walk, and the mist was there, and the dew was all over the golf course. And I said, "You know what? I am the first one to conquer this golf course today. There'll be a lot of people out here later, but I have beaten all the golfers." I felt like the world was all mine, or so I thought. Then I got to one hole and I saw a carpet of dew covering the green, and footprints all across the green. Someone had walked there before me. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Someone Else Has Walked There First." Our word for today from the Word of God is from John 10:4. Jesus beautifully, intimately describes His relationship with us here as being like that of a shepherd with His sheep: Him shepherd, me sheep. John 10:4 says this, "When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them and the sheep follow Him." I discovered this verse many years ago, just before we moved from all of the "knowns" that we had in Chicago, to all of the unknowns of northern New Jersey and New York City. We moved there to begin a youth ministry. We had no supporters, we had no place to live, we had no office, we had no staff. We knew nothing. We just claimed this verse, "...when He brings out His sheep, He will always go ahead of them." We got there and we found out that God had picked out an apartment, He picked out friends, He had picked out a church, He had picked out an office for us, He picked out supporters; people who could open doors that we needed opened, and that's what God does for all His kids. Everywhere Jesus will lead you to walk, He promises to walk there first; He goes ahead of you. That's how a shepherd operates. Wherever he's going to take his sheep, he goes ahead of them to see if there's enough pasture for them to be fed, if there are any wolves there that he needs to take care of, and where the cliffs are that they might walk over. He makes sure that He checks it out before they get there. He prepares it for them. That's just the kind of Shepherd He is. Think of the fear that takes out of the future; the uncertainty that takes out of the future. Like the old song says, "I know not what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future." Right now maybe you're looking ahead at the next few weeks, maybe months and you're anxious about it. Honestly, there's a whole lot of question marks; there's a lot of unknown out there. Well, there is one known in the midst of your unknowns. Guess what? That one known covers all the unknowns. Jesus will always be your "go ahead" Shepherd. He always does that with His sheep. He has promised that He would, and He always keeps His promises. In fact, today He knows your situation, and I think He brought us together and brought this verse to my heart for you, as a personal assurance from Him to you that He is already stepping ahead of you. There's nothing to fear on a path that Jesus has walked before you. It's the blessed security that only a follower of Jesus Christ can know. So, wherever He takes you, yours won't be the first set of footprints you'll find there. Jesus got there first.

Keys for Kids - daily devotions and Bible stories ... - Trust and Praise
Read: Acts 16:22-26 Gabby’s grandpa was in a lot of pain. His hands were nearly crippled, and he sat in a wheelchair when he was able to get out of bed. Gabby thought she would be miserable if she were in his place, but every time she visited him, he seemed to have a smile on his face. “How are you so happy all the time?” Gabby asked as she sat in his living room with him one afternoon. “God has been good to me,” Grandpa said, humming softly. Gabby’s brows knit. How could he say that when he was in pain? “What are you humming?” Gabby asked. “It’s a song about God being good all the time,” Grandpa said. “We need to trust Him no matter what we face. We need to remember that He is good and has given us eternal life through His Son, Jesus.” “I wish I had faith like you,” Gabby said. Grandpa patted her hand with his gnarly one. “Did you ever read about Paul being put in prison?” “I’m not sure,” said Gabby. “Well, when he was beaten and put in prison, he still sang and praised God. Everyone who heard him was shocked.” Grandpa smiled. “I want to be like that.” “And I want to be like you,” Gabby said. Grandpa went back to humming, and Gabby leaned into his shoulder. She felt bad for him because of his pain, but he was one of the happiest and most content people she knew. She wanted to be like him when she was older rather than a lot of the grown-ups she knew who weren’t nearly as happy or friendly. “God can get us through all kinds of terrible times and the pain we face,” Grandpa said softly. “Because Jesus died and rose again to save us, we can be joyful and praise Him no matter what. We just need to trust Him and know that He’s with us.” Grandpa smiled at Gabby. “Maybe I could teach you the words to the song I’ve been humming?” “Sure,” Gabby said. She was eager to learn as much as she could from her faith-filled grandpa. –Bethany Acker How about you? Do you know someone who is happy even when life isn’t easy? We all go through hard, painful times in life, but we can still be joyful and praise God because of what He’s done for us. If you know Jesus as your Savior, He has given you eternal life and promises to be with you through every difficulty you face. Trust Him and praise Him no matter what life brings. Today's Key Verse: In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Psalm 33:21 (NIV) Today's Key Thought: Trust and praise God always

Your Daily Prayer - A Prayer to Embrace Imperfection
We live in a world that has made perfection into a pursuit — and most of us are exhausted from chasing it. The pressure to appear finished, polished, and put-together follows us into our relationships, our work, our faith, and even the way we see ourselves in the mirror. But what if the imperfections we are trying so hard to hide are not the problem? What if they are actually part of the masterpiece? Isaiah 64:8 offers one of the most tender images in all of Scripture: God as the Potter, and us as the clay — works in progress, continually being shaped and molded in His hands. Clay that has been through the fire cannot go back to what it was before. But even broken ceramics can be worked into something beautiful — strengthened, remade, transformed into a mosaic that tells a richer story than a flawless surface ever could. God does not stand over our imperfections in disappointment. He is the One who uses every shattered place, covers every crack with His grace, and works all things — yes, all things — for good. The call to "be perfect" in Matthew 5:48 is not a demand that we arrive; it is an invitation to mature in love, to be sanctified and shaped by His hands over a lifetime. We are not finished yet. And that is not a failure — it is the whole point. Lean into the work of His hands, and let what you thought was your flaw become the very place His light shines through. Today's Bible Verse "Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." — Isaiah 64:8 Ponder Today We are not finished products — we are works in progress in the hands of a master Potter who knows exactly what He is shaping us into and why every stage of the process is necessary. Even broken pieces are never wasted in God's hands — just as shattered ceramics can be worked into beautiful mosaics, every shattered place in our lives can be remade into something purposeful and good. The pursuit of perfection can become a subtle way of pushing God out of the picture — pretending we are finished and have it all together leaves no room for the Potter to keep working. Our imperfections, when shared honestly, grow compassion and community — what we are most tempted to hide is often the very thing that connects us most deeply to others. The call to "be perfect" in Matthew 5:48 is not a demand to arrive but an invitation to mature — to allow God to sanctify us in His hands and in His timing, covered all the way by His grace. Today's Prayer Lord, I am ready to admit imperfection. I am tired of striving toward a moving target and pretending I have it all together. Help me not to see my imperfections as setbacks, but as windows through which Your light shines most clearly. Help me accept my intricate pattern and trust You to make and perfect me the way You desire, in Your time and by Your grace. Show me the beauty of brokenness, and teach me that not having it all together makes me a vessel for Your grace — not a disappointment, but a work still in Your hands. In Jesus' name, Amen. Creation Moments on Oneplace.com - Frog Pharmacists
Some frogs are regular little drug factories. Their skins produce a wide range of powerful alkaloids, a large family of chemicals usually produced by plants. Familiar alkaloids include quinine, caffeine and morphine. Different alkaloids have different effects, usually on the nervous system. The poison-arrow frog may be the most famous alkaloid-producing frog. South American natives simply rub their arrows or darts on the frog’s back. One species of this frog contains enough poison to kill about 100 people! Another frog, native to Ecuador, produces an anesthetic more powerful than morphine. South American natives rub another frog on their wounds. Researchers discovered that the frog’s skin makes a powerful antiseptic. Yet another frog alkaloid will change the colors on parrot feathers. Some of the alkaloids produced by frogs are so complex that it takes years of study, using modern science’s most sophisticated equipment, to discover the active chemical.Researchers in this field are only beginning to learn about the alkaloids produced by frogs. They have yet to research a frog that natives claim to use to heighten their senses for the hunt. What puzzles scientists who believe in evolution is that the frogs’ exotic skin chemistries don’t follow the patterns they anticipated based upon expected evolutionary relationships. This means that these frogs have one more exciting purpose. They provide evidence against evolution and for the Creator.Matthew 13:22"'Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.'”Prayer: I thank You, Lord, that You have included chemicals in the creation that can help us treat our medical problems. I ask that I would not become so concerned with earthly cares and worries that I forget about my spiritual needs - which are fully supplies by You. Amen.REF.: Pennisi, Elizabeth. "Pharming frogs." Love Worth Finding | Audio Program - Six Principles to Fortify Faith
Sermon OverviewScripture Passage: Hebrews 11:8-13Hebrews 11:8 reminds us of the legacy of Abraham, who was called by God in his old age and became a champion of the faith. “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance...”Abraham's example gives us six principles to fortify our faith.1. The Voice Principle: Abraham heard from the Lord. The Lord appeared to Abraham through a supernatural experience. We have a greater advantage, having the written Word of God, the mind of Jesus Christ, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.2. The Venture Principle: we must obey what we know.Abraham heard and obeyed. If we are having a faith problem, it could actually be rooted in an obedience problem. Adrian Rogers says, "Our responsibility is not to totally understand, but to readily obey."3. The Value Principle: We must establish priorities.Abraham was a sojourner; he knew the land was not his home. (See Hebrews 11:9-10.) If we live for this world, we will eventually conform to it and become an enemy of God. Instead, we must have the mind of Christ and prioritize knowing God’s will.4. The Vision Principle: we must stay focused and remain disciplined. We must keep our eyes set on things above, and not on things of this Earth. When we see the promises of God, which are otherwise unseen by those without faith, we have a responsibility to live by them.5. The Vigilance Principle: our faith will be tested, through heartache and tears. We must remember that where God leads us, He will sustain us.6. The Victory Principle: we get to enjoy the blessings.Hebrews 11:12 says, “Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.”Abraham and Sarah conceived a child in their old age, and from that child, Abraham’s descendants were innumerable as the sand. Their victory came by a fortified faith.Apply it to your lifeDo you want a faith like Abraham, a faith that leaves a legacy? Listen to the voice of God, obey what you know to be true; remain disciplined, even when tested, keeping your eyes on things above.

A Word With You - The Joy of Telling - #10263
Jeremy was a young man who worked in our office every year after he got out of college, and then he became a veteran of our On Eagles' Wings Native American team. But something was different this particular year for him - a woman! Yes, a woman in Jeremy's life! And, believe me, it was no secret. He started telling us all about her as soon as we saw him again. The romance had just developed in the weeks preceding, and there was nothing he would rather talk about. She lived quite a ways from where we were, and the more he talked about her, the more he wanted to be with her. At first I was kind of amused by this young love, until I remembered that it was me not so many years ago, telling anyone who would listen about the woman I loved. By the way, I will always love talking about her. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "The Joy of Telling." My young friend couldn't wait to tell us about the person he loved. And, as a result, we couldn't wait to meet her. You see, that's how it's supposed to work with any of us who love Jesus Christ. We love to tell about Him, and as a result, some people we know want to meet Him. It was a summer when, as we often do, our On Eagles' Wings team had brought the hope of Christ to a number of Native American reservations. Wendy, who was 16, was one of our new team members. During that amazing month, where hundreds of Native American young people began a relationship with Jesus, Wendy had the joy of leading her first people to Christ. At our last night, she said to me: "You know, I accepted Jesus when I was little, but I've never really felt Him until this month. And I know what I want to do with my life now. I want to be in full-time ministry, telling people about Jesus Christ." Why had Wendy suddenly begun to feel Christ in her life? Why did she suddenly have a sense of mission in her life? I believe it's largely because she had just spent the whole month doing what followers of Jesus are supposed to do all the time. She was telling lost people about the One who loves her, the one she loves. And that telling about Jesus might be the missing ingredient in your life as one of His kids. Paul prayed this revealing prayer along these lines in Philemon, verse 6, our word for today from the Word of God. Here's what he said: "I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ." Paul seems to be saying here that there's a level of experiencing your Savior that can only be reached by telling others about Him. You don't have a religion to share, or a church, or some beliefs. You have a person to tell about - a person who loved you enough to die for you! Something powerful happens in your life when you finally open your heart and open your mouth to let people who've never met your Jesus know what He's like. Paul says you start to have "a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ." Maybe that's what you've been restless for. Like that young woman on our team, when you start talking about Jesus, you may finally start feeling Him in your life as never before. And by starting to carry out your mission to be His ambassador, you may finally begin to get a clear picture of His greater plans for the rest of your life. Not to mention that what you know about Jesus is their only hope of ever being in heaven with you someday! You need to tell about Jesus. They need to hear about Him, because you need to talk about the greatest love of your life. And they need to hear about the one who loves them more than anyone. You tell them about how much He loves you. Sooner or later, I believe they're going to want to meet Him too.

Keys for Kids - daily devotions and Bible stories ... - Who You Know
Read: John 14:1-6 Cadence and Izabel listened intently as Dad read the story of Finn, a very poor boy who lived long ago in a faraway country. “Everyone said the king was very kind,” Dad read, “so Finn decided to go see him and ask for help. “When Finn arrived at the palace, he was stopped at the gate. He explained that he wanted to see the king, but he was refused admission. Now what can I do? he wondered. I know! I’ll climb over the wall. He looked around to make sure no one was watching, then found a part of the wall surrounded by trees and climbed to the top. Hey! That was easy! he thought, but at that very moment, several fierce-looking dogs in the palace yard rushed up. Finn dropped back to the ground. This won’t work after all, he thought. The only way in is through the gate. Discouraged, he walked back to the gate and sat down at the side of the road. “Soon a carriage drove up, and a young man stepped out. ‘What’s the matter?’ the man asked. Finn explained that he desperately needed help and wanted to see the king. ‘Come with me,’ the young man said. Then he spoke to the gatekeeper, and the gates were opened. They went inside, and Finn could see the dogs out of the corner of his eye. He cringed when he heard them barking. But again the young man gave orders, and the dogs were restrained. “Finn looked at the man wide-eyed. ‘Why does everyone obey you?’ he asked in wonder. “The young man smiled. ‘Because I’m the prince,’ he replied. ‘And now we’ll go see my father—the king.’” Dad stopped reading and closed the book. “Do you know who Finn reminds me of?” “Who?” asked Izabel. “Us,” said Dad. “We all need the King of kings—God—but none of us can reach Him on our own. That’s why He sent His Son to us.” “Jesus!” Cadence and Izabel said together. Smiling, Dad nodded. “We can only be saved through Jesus,” he said. “We can only have eternal life with the King of kings by knowing Him.” –Harry C. Trover How about you? Have you ever heard that it’s not what you know but who you know that matters? That’s often true! It’s certainly true when it comes to entering the kingdom of heaven. You need to know the Son of God—Jesus—as your Savior to be saved from sin and have eternal life. Do you know Him? (To learn more, go to Have You Heard the Good News?) Today's Key Verse: This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3 (NKJV) Today's Key Thought: You need to know Jesus

Creation Moments on Oneplace.com - Physician Wasp?
In previous “Creation Moments” features we’ve talked about wasps that control crop pests. Natural controls—such as these wasps—show the Creator’s hand in designing the creation. New facts about how wasps control pests make our Creator’s hand even more evident. There are several thousand species of wasps that lay their eggs inside crop pests or use the pests for food. These wasps have become a popular form of natural pest control among farmers and gardeners.Researchers have now discovered that the wasps do more than simply feed on the pests or use them as food for their young. Typically, the wasps will inject their eggs into worm-like pest larvae. It has been discovered that the wasp eggs are coated with a virus that holds the pest larvae in the immature stage until the developing young wasps have no more need of the egg. The virus appears to move to an organ inside the pest larva and affects the insect’s immune system. It also acts on the larva’s endocrine system to take away the larva’s appetite. So the pest larva destroys less crop, and being starved for food, fails to develop into an adult. This gives the wasp eggs plenty of time to develop into young wasps who will finish off the pest.Researchers are still trying to discover exactly how the virus’s carefully orchestrated attack strategy works. Clearly, no creature nor the creation itself invented this strategy. It could only have been conceived and built by a Master Biochemist and Physician!Job 36:5"Behold, God is mighty, but despises no one; He is mighty in strength of understanding.”Prayer: I thank You, Lord, that You have built into Your creation natural ways to control creatures that can become unwanted pests. Help us to learn more about the natural controls You have made so that we will be better able to feed a growing population. And with that food, let Your people bring others Your saving Word. Real Truth Real Love Real Hope with Jeff Schreve - The Exclusivity of the Gospel [Part 1]
Galatians 1:6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; 7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!

Answers with Ken Ham - Rivers with Rights?
This is Ken Ham, inviting you to visit our two attractions, the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Did you know in India there are two rivers given the same legal status as humans? In New Zealand, a 150-year debate ended when a river was finally named a legal person. In Ecuador, nature is represented in their constitution with certain “rights”! This silliness highlights the absurdity that results from a world in rebellion against the Creator. This kind of thinking ignores the uniqueness of mankind. We’re special, made in the image of God, with unique rights and responsibilities, including dominion over creation. Nature is important, and we’re to steward it well, but we’re distinct from it. A river will never be a person! Dig Deeper God’s Image—The Difference Maker Should Animals Have Equal Rights as Humans?

The Greg Laurie Show - Are God’s Promises to Israel Still Active? | A Conversation with Joel Rosenberg
Has God abandoned Israel—or is the story of His chosen people far from over? In this thought-provoking episode of The Greg Laurie Podcast, Pastor Greg Laurie sits down with best-selling author, Middle East expert, and Bible prophecy teacher Joel Rosenberg for an honest, often humorous deep-dive into one of the most hotly debated questions in Christianity: Have the Jews been replaced by the Church as God’s chosen people? Together, Greg Laurie and Joel cut through centuries of theological debate, exploring “replacement theology,” the modern rebirth of Israel, and why understanding biblical prophecy is more relevant—and controversial—than ever. Drawing from real-world encounters with global leaders, first-hand stories from modern Israel, and fresh research into prophecy’s place in today’s world, this conversation reveals why the question of Israel matters for every believer. You’ll discover: Why so many pastors shy away from prophecy—and why Joel believes the Church can’t afford to ignore it. The explosive rise in Jewish believers in Jesus, and why this surge is reshaping what it means to be part of God’s family. How to share the Gospel with Jewish friends in a way that’s loving, respectful, and rooted in Scripture—not centuries-old stereotypes. Whether you’re wrestling with big questions about God’s promises, fascinated by the intersection of current events and biblical prophecy, or simply seeking wisdom for sharing your faith cross-culturally, this episode offers clarity, encouragement, and practical insights. Don’t miss this challenging—and hope-filled—conversation that will leave you rethinking what it means to be part of God’s unfolding story. Your Daily Bible Verse - Trusting God Before You See The Answer (John 4:50)
Today’s Bible Verse: “Jesus replied, ‘You may go. Your son will live.’ The man took Jesus at his word and departed.” — John 4:50 John 4:50 highlights a powerful moment of faith. A desperate father came to Jesus seeking healing for his dying son. Instead of going with him, Jesus simply spoke: “Your son will live.” The remarkable part of the story is what follows—the man believed Jesus before seeing any evidence.
