The Feeling of being Lost
Have you ever had that moment when you can’t help but cry because you’re so tired and overwhelmed by all that the world expects of you and no time to do it all and also to do the things that you would love to do. The endless chores, demanding children, hungry relatives, deadlines to meet and events to attend.I do, and I experienced it today which lead to a meltdown. Why does this happen? Why is life this hard?Sometimes, it helps when we receive a hug from our beloved and comfort words like “Go take a break, get yourself a cup of coffee, I will care for the children and home while you’re gone”.Honestly these meltdowns, I know what causes them, and I’m sure the root of the problem is the same for a lot of women like me. We either don’t take the time to do what we need to do to take care of ourselves or we are simply unable to.It is very necessary for us women to be able to get up to do things that we need to do in the early morning hours before our family gets up, whether it’s doing devotions, working out, meditation and prayer, reading, or getting ourselves pretty for the day.I cannot emphasis enough the impact that this has on our overall mental health not only throughout the day, but in the long run as well. Scriptures even back this up in Proverbs, chapter 31:15 “She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens”.In today’s culture we don’t have maidens, we have to do everything ourselves. This verse still applies because instead of maidens, we are to plan everything accordingly so things can run smoothly throughout the day. There is also another verse that I came across in my psalms reading today, Psalms 30:5 “weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning”.Although we often see this first being used in sorrowful times, I think in some ways it applies here as well in that, we often go to bed feeling overwhelmed, but joy comes in the morning with thankfulness that we are given another day to care for our family and are given another chance to do it well for the Lord. Some of us don’t have a spouse to turn to when we need to vent or ask for help if we need a moment or two to ourselves this is where we need to let go of our pride and be willing to ask for help. I’ve heard from older women that they often want to help the younger but no one wants to ask or even receive help these days, don’t be like them. ASK FOR HELP! (as my husband reminded me today), It can be an older women at church or someone else that you can trust. When you are able to take a moment, go do what is relaxing for you, getting a massage, a pedicure, a walk in nature or spending time in the Word. For me, my favorite thing to do is to go to a local coffee shop and spend time journaling and read several bible passages. Avoid watching television or scrolling through social media, these will only hinder you from truly taking a break from the world and will only fill your mind with additional worry and insecurities.I am encouraging my fellow bloggers to not only take these moments for yourself for your overall self care but to encourage the busy person in your life to do these things for themselves, offer to watch the kids, or clean the house, bring a meal or give them your time to talk.In conclusion, it’s okay to have these meltdown, especially when you’re unable to take the time that you need for yourself. But don’t make it an regular occurrence, if one thing doesn’t work, try something else! There’s always a solution to a life’s problem. While I have yet to find mine for my current issue. I will have to depend on occasional coffee breaks until I do.

Introduction
Transcript:Hello, I’m LexiMay, and I want to welcome you to the Hearing Through Deaf Ears Podcast.I was born profoundly deaf and have lived most of my life with cochlear implants. You may notice I have what’s often called a “deaf accent,” and I sometimes mispronounce words — so please bear with me! Because of the trials I’ve walked through and the ones I’m still facing, I felt led to start this podcast. My desire is simple: to share what I’m learning in God’s Word and how I’m applying it in real life. This life is temporary, but God’s truth is eternal — and I need that reminder every day.Thank you for joining me. I hope these devotionals encourage your heart as much as they’re encouraging mine.
