Hebrews 11:17–29 highlights moments when God’s people demonstrated faith in extreme tests — from Abraham offering Isaac to Moses leading Israel through the Red Sea.Full Description:In Hebrews 11:17–29, Abraham’s willingness to offer Isaac stands as one of Scripture’s most profound acts of faith, trusting God to raise the promise back to life. Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph each looked forward to God’s promises beyond their lifetimes. Moses chose to be identified with God’s people rather than enjoy Egypt’s fleeting pleasures, keeping his eyes on the unseen reward. Hebrews Bible Study – Ep. 05 ch 3 vs 1-6 – Jesus, Greater Than Moses
Hebrews 3:1–6 compares Jesus to Moses, showing that Christ is worthy of greater honor as the builder of God’s house.Full Description:In Hebrews 3:1–6, the writer urges believers to fix their thoughts on Jesus, our apostle and high priest, and compares Him to Moses. While Moses was faithful as a servant in God’s house, Jesus is faithful as the Son over God’s house — the builder and sustainer of it. This passage calls us to hold firmly to our confidence and hope in Christ.Hashtags:#Hebrews #BibleStudy #NewTestament #JesusChrist #Moses #HighPriest #Faithfulness #ChristianPodcastFREE RESOURCES... Hebrews Bible Study – Ep. 04 ch 2 vs 14-18 – Jesus Our Merciful and Faithful High Priest
By becoming human, Jesus defeated the power of death and became our merciful and faithful High Priest. Hebrews 2:14–18 shows why He can help us in our trials.Full Description:By sharing in our humanity, Jesus destroyed the devil’s power over death and freed those who lived in fear of it. As our merciful and faithful High Priest, He is able to help us when we are tempted because He Himself has suffered and been tempted.Hebrews 2:14–18 reveals the heart of Christ’s mission: to take on flesh and blood so that, through His death, He could break the power of the devil and free those enslaved by the fear of death. This was not for the angels, but for the descendants of Abraham—those who trust in Him. As a merciful and faithful High Priest, Jesus can fully identify with our struggles. Having suffered and been tempted Himself, He is able to help us when we face trials and temptations.Hashtags:#Hebrews #BibleStudy #NewTestament #JesusChrist #HighPriest #Temptation #FreedomInChrist #ChristianPodcastFREE RESOURCES... Hebrews Bible Study – Ep. 03 ch 2 vs 10-13 – The Family of God Through Christ
Jesus, the pioneer of our salvation, calls us His brothers and sisters. Hebrews 2:10–13 shows how His suffering brings us into God’s family.Full Description:Jesus is the pioneer of our salvation, bringing many sons and daughters to glory. By sharing in our humanity, He is not ashamed to call us His brothers and sisters, fulfilling the promises of God to unite His people as one family in Him.In Hebrews 2:10–13, we see that it was fitting for God to perfect the author of our salvation through sufferings. Jesus fully entered our human experience so that He could lead many sons and daughters into glory. This passage reveals the deep bond between Christ and those He saves—He is not ashamed to call us His brothers and sisters. The writer draws on Old Testament passages to show how God’s plan from the beginning was to gather His people into a family centered in Christ.Hashtags:#Hebrews #BibleStudy #NewTestament #JesusChrist #FamilyOfGod #Salvation #ChristianPodcastFREE RESOURCES... Hebrews Bible Study – Ep. 02 ch 2 vs 1-9 – Paying Closer Attention to the Gospel
We are warned not to drift away from the gospel we have heard. Hebrews 2 reminds us of the greatness of our salvation and of Jesus’ humility in becoming like us.Full Description:We are warned not to drift away from the message we have heard. The salvation announced by the Lord, confirmed by those who heard Him, and attested by God’s signs and wonders is too great to ignore. Jesus, made for a little while lower than the angels, tasted death for everyone so that God’s grace might bring salvation to His people.Hebrews 2 begins with a sober call: we must pay much closer attention to the message of salvation so that we do not drift away. This is not a casual reminder but a serious warning—if those who ignored God’s word through angels faced judgment, how much more if we neglect the salvation given through His Son? The writer also reveals that, in God’s plan, Jesus was made for a little while lower than the angels so He could fully enter our humanity, suffer, and die in our place. Through His death, He tasted the full weight of sin’s penalty, making salvation possible for everyone who trusts in Him.Hashtags:#Hebrews #BibleStudy #NewTestament #JesusChrist #Salvation #Gospel #GraceOfGod #ChristianPodcastFREE RESOURCES... Hebrews Bible Study – Ep. 01 ch 1 vs 1-14 – God Has Spoken Through His Son
God has spoken in many ways, but His ultimate word is in His Son, Jesus Christ. Hebrews 1 shows why He is greater than prophets and angels — and why that truth anchors our faith.Full Description:In this opening chapter of Hebrews, we see that God has spoken to humanity in many ways throughout history, but His ultimate and final word is in His Son, Jesus Christ. Unlike the prophets who brought partial messages in the past, Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature. He is not merely a messenger, but the eternal Son through whom God created the world. This passage also reveals that Jesus is far greater than the angels, holding the unique position as the One who reigns forever and has completed the work of purifying sins. Join us as we explore why this truth matters for our faith today — and how it anchors our confidence in the gospel.Hashtags:#Hebrews #BibleStudy #NewTestament #JesusChrist #GodsWord #SupremacyOfChrist #BibleTeaching #ChristianPodcastFREE RESOURCES... Hebrews Bible Study – Ep. 00 Introduction – Why This Study Matters
In this brief introduction, Rick Carmichael and Yuni Leo share the heart behind the New Testament book of Hebrews and what listeners can expect in this 35-part Bible Study.Full Description:Thank you for joining me — and my friend, Yuni Leo — for a verse-by-verse study through the book of Hebrews. When I was a young Christian, Hebrews honestly scared me… because there are passages that seem to say a true believer can lose their salvation. That scary idea is never taught in the book of Hebrews, nor in any of the other books in the entire Bible! If I had to pick one word to describe the book of Hebrews, that word would be "supremacy…” of the New Testament realities of the things that were “pictured” in the Old Testament. The comparisons offered in the book of Hebrews include God’s covenants and promises, the sacrifices offered, the priesthood, and of the believers’ day-to-day relationship with God. I love this book, and I’m excited that you’re here. My prayer is that God uses this study to bless you deeply — that the Holy Spirit strengthens your faith in Jesus, draws you into a deeper love for Him, and shapes in you a heart that treasures God above everything else… as the one true source of life. One final thing… I need to apologize for the audio quality of these recordings because of using different microphones and also because of being surrounded by neighbors who have chickens and dogs that are always making an incredible amount of noise.
