Hold Fast

On this podcast, we dive into God's Word for truths that we need in our daily life in order to "hold fast to our confession" as Hebrews 10 talks about. Our goal is to provide biblical truths for daily battles.

  1. 178

    When Legalism Hurts People

In this episode of Hold Fast, we tackle one of the most subtle and damaging dangers in the church: legalism. What’s the difference between calling Christians to obedience and adding works to the Gospel? We explore how legalism distorts grace, burdens believers, and turns the Christian life into endless rule-keeping instead of joyful obedience flowing from a transformed heart. From the Judaizers in Galatians to modern church culture, this episode examines how both “salvation by works” and man-made standards can wound people and obscure the true Gospel. At the same time, we’ll see why grace is not a license for sin, but the only foundation for true freedom, repentance, and rest in Christ.

  2. 177

    When "Judge Not" Hurts People

I had planned to talk about legalism this week—but two major stories changed that. In this episode, we take a hard look at one of the most misused verses in the Bible: “Judge not, that you be not judged” (Matthew 7:1). Did Jesus really mean we should never judge? Or have we misunderstood Him?By walking through Scripture and examining two real-life situations, we’ll see the difference between wrong judgment that condemns and right judgment that protects, warns, and restores. When the Church avoids making right judgments, the consequences can be serious—not just for individuals, but for the whole body. This episode is a call to recover biblical discernment: humbly examining ourselves, rightly assessing fruit, and speaking the truth in love for the good of others and the glory of God.

  3. 176

    Why so many denominations?

In this episode, we step a bit deeper into theology to tackle a question many Christians quietly wrestle with: if Jesus prayed for unity among His people, why are there so many denominations? Looking at passages like John 17 and 1 Corinthians 1, we explore what true biblical unity really means—and what it doesn’t.While perfect unity is the goal, Scripture and church history remind us that it won’t be fully realized until Christ returns. Along the way, we’ll consider how division can sometimes reveal truth, why not all disagreements are equal, and how believers can pursue genuine unity without demanding uniformity. This episode offers a balanced, Scripture-driven perspective to help you think clearly, live faithfully, and engage others with humility and grace—even when you don’t see eye to eye.

  4. 175

When "God told me" hurts people

In this episode, we take a hard look at a phrase that sounds spiritual but can be deeply harmful: “God told me.”I love theology, not to show off knowledge, but because truth matters. Scripture calls us to both love (1 Corinthians 13:1–2) and rightly handle God’s Word (2 Timothy 2:15). Why? Because bad theology hurts people, and I’ve seen the damage firsthand. From broken relationships to dangerous decisions, the misuse of “God told me” has caused real harm. While not everyone who says it is acting wrongly, we must test every claim against Scripture. We’ll explore how God speaks today, why His Word is our only sure foundation (2 Peter 1:16–21), and how to discern truth in a world full of spiritual claims. If someone says, “God told me,” how should you respond? Let’s talk about it!

  5. 174

    When Church Feels Boring

Is church supposed to be entertaining? After hearing people call church “boring” and “repetitive,” this episode explores why those criticisms miss the point. Looking at Scripture and the purpose of worship, we consider how consistency, conviction, and Christ-centered gatherings shape us far more than entertainment ever could.

  6. 173

    Faithfulness when life is busy

Feeling overwhelmed? Like there are too many plates spinning and not enough time to keep them all from crashing down? In this episode of Hold Fast, we tackle a struggle we all know too well—when life gets busy, the most important things often get pushed aside by what feels most urgent.Through biblical wisdom like Ephesians 5:15–16 and the example of Jesus in Luke 5, this episode reframes the goal of your life: not doing it all, but being faithful in what matters most. We’ll walk through a practical, honest question that can reshape your priorities: “How can I be most faithful to what matters most right now?”You’ll learn how to evaluate your time, identify what’s slipping through the cracks (like prayer, Scripture, and family), and take tangible steps to reorder your life with intentionality. If you’ve been stuck in survival mode for longer than you’d like, this episode will challenge and equip you to step out of overwhelm and into faithful stewardship. It’s time to stop measuring your life by productivity—and start measuring it by faithfulness.

  7. 172

    When asking God "why?"

The book of Job offers us great insight on how we should respond to trials and even what we should do when God doesn't give us an answer. If you've ever wanted to ask God "why," this episode is for you.

  8. 171

Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin

Is “love the sinner, hate the sin” actually biblical? What do we do with passages like Psalm 5:5 that say God hates evildoers? In this episode of Hold Fast, we think carefully about God’s holy opposition to evil, His call to sinners to repent, and our responsibility to love—even our enemies. We also wrestle with how to respond to real-world evil, including the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader. Can we acknowledge wickedness and even feel relief that harm has ended, while still grieving a lost soul and trusting God’s sovereignty? Join us as we seek to hold fast to both truth and love in a world that often misunderstands both.

  9. 170

    Worshipping When it Hurts

Tragedy often tempts us to doubt, withdraw, or even curse God. But Scripture calls believers to something radically different: worship. In this episode, we unpack Colossians 3:16–17 and examine how God’s grace enables us to worship even in pain. Through the lives of Job and David, we learn how suffering can become a pathway to deeper faith and lasting hope.

  10. 169

    Honoring God in the "Ordinary"

In Matthew 25:14-30, Jesus gives us what we call "The Parable of the Talents." It is both an encouraging and challenging passage that reminds us we have everything we need to be a good and faithful servant, even among the "ordinary" tasks and rhythms of life.--Go here for the full sermon: https://www.missionwaychurch.org/watch?sapurl=LytoeTJ6L2xiL21pLysyYmpteDljP2VtYmVkPXRydWUmcmVjZW50Um91dGU9YXBwLndlYi1hcHAubGlicmFyeS5saXN0JnJlY2VudFJvdXRlU2x1Zz0lMkI1cWM1ajN6

How to build deeper community at church

Why does church often feel crowded… but lonely? So many people long for real relationships in the church, yet struggle to find authentic community. We tend to blame programming, small groups, or leadership — but what if the biggest factor is our mindset and intentionality?🎙️ In this episode of Hold Fast, I talk about:Why church isn’t a product to consume but a family to belong toSimple, practical ways to build genuine relationshipsThe difference between superficial community and biblical fellowshipHow small mindset shifts can lead to deep, lasting connections

  12. 167

Should I join a group at church?

MissionWay has recently launched two new discipleship groups, which raises an important question: Why join a group at all?In this episode, we talk through what a discipleship group is (and what it isn’t), why joining one doesn’t make you a “better” Christian, and yet why the New Testament vision of fellowship, care, and growth is often best lived out in smaller, committed communities. We’ll explore how discipleship groups foster real relationships, shared rhythms of faith, multi-generational encouragement, and ongoing application of God’s Word beyond Sunday mornings. We close with a simple but challenging invitation: if we say the church is our family, what are we doing to live like it, and what might we need to give up to experience deeper fellowship? Would you be willing to try it for 8–12 weeks?

Lessons from the recent Bethel controversy

In this special extra episode of Hold Fast, Kenny talks through the recent controversy at Bethel Church and the lessons we can take away from it.--For Mike Winger's video, go here: https://youtu.be/GH05S53QlY0?si=PExHAUDzYrf_TWExFor John Coopers response video, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QI-OF3OhwVI

  14. 165

How should we talk about politics?

In this episode, we step back from specific headlines to ask a bigger question: How should Christians think and speak about politics in a way that honors Christ? This is a biblical starter guide for engaging political conversations with courage, wisdom, and love—without retreating from hard truths or tying our allegiance to any political party. We’ll explore why faith and politics cannot be separated, how Scripture shapes how we think (not just what we think), and how to respond to news and cultural pressure in a God-honoring way. Most importantly, this episode reminds us that the goal is not political victory or public approval, but the glory of God and the proclamation of the Gospel. In a world increasingly hostile to biblical truth, Christians are still called to stand firm, love well, and trust that God’s Word is sufficient.

  15. 164

Signs of the End? (Matthew 24)

In this episode, Kenny spends some time recapping his sermon series so far in Matthew 24 where Jesus speaks of the destruction of the Jewish Temple in 70AD. Many people believe these words of Jesus to refer primarily to the end times and His second coming, but Kenny walks through the Scripture to make the case that chapter 24 primarily deals with 70AD and the fall of Jerusalem. This is a recap of much of what has already been said in the following sermon series: https://www.missionwaychurch.org/watch?sapurl=LytoeTJ6L2xiL21zLytyd3F5ZmN5P2VtYmVkPXRydWUmcmVjZW50Um91dGU9YXBwLndlYi1hcHAubGlicmFyeS5saXN0JnJlY2VudFJvdXRlU2x1Zz0lMkI1cWM1ajN6

  16. 163

Should we lift our hands in worship?

At MissionWay Church, one of our core values is Worship as a Response. We love to sing loudly together—but if you were observing our church, you might not describe our worship as especially “expressive.” In this episode, we talk about why that is, and whether outward expression in worship is something to be encouraged, avoided, or simply misunderstood.Walking through passages like John 4, Colossians 3, 2 Samuel 6, and a wide range of Psalms, we explore what Scripture actually teaches about worship—both inward and outward. We’ll address hand-raising, clapping, singing loudly, and even dancing, while also drawing clear biblical boundaries about order, reverence, doctrine, and heart posture. This episode is meant to encourage those who worship more outwardly and those who worship more reservedly, reminding us that true worship is defined by Spirit and truth, not volume or visibility. Most importantly, we’ll consider what it means to worship not just as individuals, but as the gathered people of God—unified, charitable, and joyful in Christ.

  17. 162

Read your Bible better in 2026

Many of us start the year with good intentions to read the Bible only to feel discouraged, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin. In this episode, we slow things down and refocus on what Bible reading is really about: communion with God, not checklist completion. You’ll hear biblical encouragement, guiding principles to shape a healthy approach, and practical steps you can actually implement. Whether you’re starting fresh, restarting after discouragement, or trying to grow in consistency. Don’t feel pressure to do everything mentioned; take one or two things that resonate, and faithfully run with them.

  18. 161

A better way to enjoy Christmas

Is it possible to enjoy Christmas without guilt—and even worship Jesus through the lights, gifts, traditions, and celebrations of the season? In this episode, Pastor Kenny explores a better way to enjoy Christmas—one that doesn’t unnecessarily divide the “spiritual” from the "ordinary," but sees every good gift as coming from the hand of God. Drawing from James 1:17, the Christmas story, and everyday traditions, we’re reminded that the birth of Christ is what gives meaning to all the joy and beauty of the season.Whether your Christmas feels full of blessings or painfully lacking, this episode points us to the unchanging truth that the greatest gift can never be taken away—Christ was born for you.Listen in and be encouraged to delight in God’s good gifts while keeping your heart fixed on the Giver Himself.--Christmas is not Pagan Graphic: https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5a21fbb649fc2b2179ec1ac4/6d1cd157-1064-42ca-91a0-497b845ba806/Screen+Shot+2023-12-13+at+11.45.35+AM.png?format=2500w

How to find community at church

One of the most common reasons people give for leaving a church is a lack of community—but the solution isn’t as simple as wishing for deeper fellowship. In this episode, Pastor Kenny tackles two essential questions every believer should ask when longing for greater connection in their local church. Before getting there, he offers practical, down-to-earth steps anyone can take right now to build meaningful relationships: showing up early, staying late, giving deeper answers, initiating discipleship, and pushing through the awkwardness that real community often requires.Kenny then explores what kind of community we’re actually looking for—social, hobby-based connection or a Christ-centered, discipleship-shaped fellowship like the one described in Acts 2. Finally, he challenges listeners to consider how they themselves are cultivating community rather than waiting for better programs or perfect circumstances. If you’ve been struggling to feel connected at your church, these two questions just might change the way you pursue biblical fellowship.

  20. 159

    Saying "Yes" by saying "No"

In this episode, we’re talking about something all of us wrestle with: learning when to say no—not just to the bad stuff, but sometimes even to the good and urgent things that pull us away from what’s essential. I share a personal struggle in this area and the simple but life-changing exercise a fellow pastor challenged me to do: writing out my “vocations” or callings. Understanding your greater and lesser callings doesn’t mean loving some people more than others—it’s about recognizing the order God built into your responsibilities so you can love everyone more faithfully. We’ll walk through practical steps like mapping out your vocations, planning an “ideal” week, thinking before giving an answer, and learning that a blank calendar doesn’t automatically mean a new “yes.” We’ll also explore why margin matters, how every “yes” is also a “no,” and why clarifying expectations with your spouse, kids, boss, and church leadership is crucial.Whether you feel stuck in the rat race or simply want to steward your time more intentionally, this episode will help you slow down, evaluate, and make God-honoring decisions rooted in wisdom, purpose, and calling.

  21. 158

Do I have to Forgive them?

In this episode of Hold Fast, we take a deeper look at a topic we wrestled with in our adult Sunday School class this past Sunday: forgiving someone you may never be fully reconciled with. What do you do when someone wounds you so deeply that you have zero desire to forgive them? What about when you want to forgive, but your emotions refuse to follow? And what about those painful situations where God has helped you forgive in your heart, yet the relationship itself may never return to what it once was? We’ll walk through what Scripture clearly commands regarding forgiveness—toward believers and even toward our enemies—and why withholding forgiveness is never an option for those who belong to Christ. We’ll also consider the reality that forgiveness is relational, why reconciliation isn’t always possible, and how to discern righteous anger from sinful anger. Finally, we’ll explore the temptation to demand “payment” from those who hurt us and why that mindset contradicts the very heart of the gospel. Christ’s sacrifice is enough—for their sin and for yours. Our calling is to forgive as we have been forgiven, to stand ready for reconciliation whenever repentance comes, and to entrust ultimate justice to the Lord.

  22. 157

Kill Sin or it Will Kill You

In this episode, we reflect on the sobering fall of another prominent pastor and the warning it offers for our own walk with Christ. Scripture calls us to pursue holiness with vigilance, remembering Owen’s charge to “be killing sin or it will be killing you,” and recognizing that sin grows quietly when left unchecked. Yet this isn’t a self-powered struggle—God Himself works in us to will and to act for His good pleasure. As we bring our sin into the light, confess it, and rely on His sanctifying grace, we find both our greatest protection and our greatest hope.

  23. 156

When God Opens (and Closes) Doors

As Christians, we often talk about “open doors” and “closed doors” when trying to discern God’s will—but how do we actually know when He’s opening one, or shutting it tight? In this episode of Hold Fast, we explore how Scripture uses this same language—like in Colossians 4 and Acts 16—and what it teaches us about trusting God’s direction. We’ll talk about practical questions to ask when facing new opportunities, how to walk wisely through the doors God opens, and how to respond faithfully when He closes one. Sometimes faith means moving forward; other times, it means staying put. Either way, the call is the same: trust the One who holds every door in His hands.

  24. 155

Are the Jews God's Chosen People?

Many Christians ask, “How can anyone be against Israel when they are God’s chosen people?” In this episode, we explore what Scripture teaches about God’s covenant with Israel, what it means to be “chosen,” and how those promises are ultimately fulfilled in Christ. From Genesis to Romans, we’ll trace how God’s plan has always included the Gentiles and how true membership in God’s people comes through faith—not ethnicity. We’ll also consider whether God still has a future plan for ethnic Israel and why blind political support for the modern nation of Israel is not the same as biblical faithfulness.

  25. 154

    How MissionWay makes Disciples

If someone asked you over coffee, “How does your church make disciples?” could you explain it clearly? In this episode, Pastor Kenny walks through MissionWay’s discipleship strategy — a simple but powerful picture of what it means to Gather, Grow, Go, and Connect with one another. It’s not a checklist or a ladder to climb, but an ongoing rhythm of life in community with Jesus and His people. Here's a link to the strategy diagram: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/pbguj1ihsvfea2qe65y46/Mission-One-Sheet-FINAL.jpg?rlkey=rcvh0kg6b9dge5zikhvgnlno5&dl=0

  26. 153

    Marks of an Everyday Disciple

In this episode, we explore the marks of an everyday disciple—what it looks like to faithfully follow Jesus, make disciples intentionally, boldly share the Gospel, and serve sacrificially. We’ll dig into practical questions that help us assess our growth and challenge us to live out our faith beyond Sunday.

  27. 152

    What do we Value?

In this episode, we continue walking through the mission, vision, and values of our church—what shapes who we are and why we exist. We’ll explore the four core values that define our culture and fuel everything we do: Speaking the Truth in Love, Authentic Community, Worship as a Response, and Gospel Urgency. These aren’t just statements on a wall—they are convictions rooted in God’s Word that shape how we preach, disciple, worship, and live on mission together. Join us as we dive into Scripture and discuss what it looks like to be a church marked by truth, family, worship, and mission.

  28. 151

    What is our Mission?

In this episode, I’m walking through MissionWay’s new mission statement: “Equipping one another to reach the lost, strengthen the weak, and encourage the faithful with the Gospel.” We’ll talk about why a mission statement matters, what it says about who we are as a church, and how each of us plays a part in living it out. My hope is that this conversation stirs you to take ownership of the mission and see how the Gospel fuels everything we do together.

  29. 150

The day everything changed for me as a pastor

As we prepare for our new vision series, I want to take you behind the scenes into my own journey of how God has shaped my understanding of pastoral ministry and what a biblically faithful church really looks like. From the weight of shepherding souls to the call to prioritize discipleship over busyness, I’ll share how the Lord has been refining both me and MissionWay Church. This episode sets the stage for where we’re headed—and why it matters for every believer, not just pastors.

  30. 149

Are we in the midst of revival?

We all long for revival—but are we waiting on the sidelines for something that God has already called us to live out daily through discipleship? In this episode, we’ll explore why revival without discipleship falls short, why real change begins in our own hearts, and how following Jesus in the everyday is the foundation for any lasting renewal.

  31. 148

    Charlie Kirk: What Now?

In this episode, I address the recent tragedy of Charlie Kirk’s murder and the cultural moment it has created. As Christians, we are called to name evil for what it is, grieve with righteous anger without retaliation, and remain steadfast in loving God and loving our neighbor. I remind listeners that our ultimate hope and change will never come from politics but from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My prayer is that this moment strengthens the Church’s boldness to speak truth in love, live wisely, and proclaim Christ as the only true light in the darkness.

  32. 147

Your Problems are Deeper than you Think!

If you're looking for biblical counseling, you can find more information here: https://www.missionwaychurch.org/biblicalcounseling--Many approaches to counseling only treat the symptoms—stress, conflict, addiction, grief—without ever addressing the deeper heart issues that cause them. But Scripture calls us to something greater. God’s Word is “living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword” (Heb. 4:12), able to pierce beneath the surface and expose what’s really going on in our hearts. In this episode, Pastor Kenny unpacks why we need biblical counseling that doesn’t just cover over the pain but goes to the root. Drawing from passages like James 4:1 and Psalm 139:23-24, you’ll be encouraged to bring your struggles to God’s Word and allow His Spirit to do the searching, healing, and transforming work that no human wisdom can.If you’re walking through marital conflict, parenting struggles, addiction, doubt, or relational tension, this episode is an invitation to seek the kind of counsel that leads to lasting change—biblical counsel rooted in the truth of God’s Word.

  33. 146

    Is Life Random?

Some claim that life is truly random and that God simply works within the chaos rather than ordaining all things. In this episode, Pastor Kenny examines this view through the lens of Scripture and the Reformed understanding of God’s sovereignty. You’ll be encouraged to trust that nothing is outside the Lord’s control, even when life feels uncertain, and reminded that His providence is both purposeful and personal.

  34. 145

    How to Study your Bible

Bible study is essential for every Christian, but let’s be honest—it’s not always easy to understand. In this episode, we look at why God’s Word matters so much (Psalm 119, Psalm 1), why even the apostle Peter said parts of it are hard (2 Peter 3), and what to do when you feel stuck. With Scripture as our guide, we’ll walk through practical tips for rightly interpreting the Bible and growing in wisdom through the Holy Spirit. Whether you're just getting started or have studied for years, this episode will equip and encourage you to keep going.--Resources mentioned in this episode:ESV Study Bible - https://www.amazon.com/ESV-Study-Bible-Bibles-Crossway/dp/1433502410?sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYApologetics Study Bible - https://www.amazon.com/CSB-Apologetics-Study-Bible-Hardcover/dp/1433644096?sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYLife Application Study Bible - https://www.amazon.com/Tyndale-Application-Hardcover-Features-Translation/dp/1496439309?sr=8-1How to Read the Bible - https://www.amazon.com/How-Read-Bible-All-Worth/dp/0310517826?sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYConcise Theology - https://www.amazon.com/Concise-Theology-Historic-Christian-Beliefs/dp/0842339604?sr=8-3-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY1689 Confession of Faith - https://www.amazon.com/Baptist-Confession-Faith-Modern-English/dp/1943539049?sr=8-1Websites:https://www.blueletterbible.org/https://www.studylight.org/https://www.gotquestions.org/

  35. 144

    Love God, Love Others

Most Christians know that the two greatest commandments are to Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself. Unfortunately we haven't always interpreted Jesus' words correctly and it has led to some unbiblical ideas about what He meant. Let's dive into those commandments together and see what Jesus meant when He gave them.

  36. 143

The Church isn't meeting my needs!

Many people say they want authentic, gospel-centered community—until it costs them convenience. In this episode, we talk about how a consumer mindset is quietly shaping our view of the Church, and why real discipleship requires presence, patience, and a willingness to stay. If we keep asking, “What am I getting out of this church?” we may never become who God is forming us to be in the church.

  37. 142

    How to Spot False Teachers

In this episode, we tackle a crucial theme woven throughout the New Testament—how to identify and deal with false teachers. In an age of spiritual confusion and theological compromise, it's more important than ever to weigh everything we hear against the full counsel of Scripture—not just isolated verses. I’ll walk through several principles to help you recognize false teaching in your own life, offer guidance on when and how to name it, and explain why clarity in doctrine is vital to the health of the Church. We’ll also talk about the role of personalities, worship music, and how false teachers aren’t always found in pulpits—they often show up in much more personal ways. This isn’t about picking fights—it’s about protecting the purity of the Gospel.

  38. 141

Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin

In this episode, I share some reflections from recent online conversations I've had while preparing for our series in 2 Timothy—engagements with unbelievers, those from other religions, and even professing Christians who reject the authority of Scripture. One hotly debated phrase I’ve seen come under fire is: “Love the sinner, hate the sin.” Many claim it’s unbiblical—but is that actually true? We’ll look at the origins of this phrase, what Scripture actually says about God's love and His hatred of sin (and sinners), and how Christians should think biblically and act faithfully in response. We’ll examine verses from John 3, Romans 5, Psalms, and more, and consider insights from faithful thinkers like Augustine, Stephen Charnock, and Thomas Watson.Ultimately, we’ll see how a right understanding of God’s justice and love deepens our awe of grace, and how we, as His people, are called to abhor sin, love our enemies, and proclaim Christ—trusting God's justice and showing His mercy.

  39. 140

    The Church- Centered Life

What if your local church was more than just an event on your calendar, but it was instead the thing you and your family oriented your entire schedule around? What if your church family was not just a group of people you saw sitting beside you on Sunday, but they were “your people” you spent much of your life with? Your best and worst moments with? That's what this episode aims to get at--Here are the two articles mentioned on the episode:https://www.9marks.org/article/the-church-centered-life/?mc_cid=d05904b055https://www.crossway.org/articles/spiritually-hungry-the-church-service-is-your-main-meal/

  40. 139

How can you meet with God?

In this episode, we look at Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers and what those books teach us about our ability to meet with God and have an intimate relationship with Him.

  41. 138

Is marriage supposed to be hard?

Recently several social media influencers have made statements like "marriage is not supposed to be hard." But is that true? What if you find yourself having a hard time in your marriage, what should you do? This episode seeks to help you navigate through that.

  42. 137

    Hold Fast to your Spouse

Genesis 2:24 tells us that a man is to leave his father and mother and "hold fast" to his spouse. What does that mean? What implications does that have in our marriages?

  43. 136

Where two or three are gathered

In Matthew 18:15-20, we have Jesus' teachings on church discipline. Verses 18-20 of that passage seem to be unrelated to the previous verses, and many Christians have taken these verses out of context as a result. What do they really mean?--Here's the sermon this podcast seeks to elaborate further on: https://subspla.sh/zqdxfrq--HEre's the sermon that more specifically lays out Jesus' teaching on Church Discipline: https://missionwaychurch.subspla.sh/j8skz8y

    Can a Christian backslide?

Can someone profess Christ and then fall back into sin? Yes, and no. Find out more in this episode!

  45. 134

    Calm and Quiet Your Soul

Ever feel distracted in prayer? Feel like you don't have the mental capacity to linger in prayer? Maybe it's because you need to calm and quiet your soul and eliminate distractions and reduce the amount of content you're consuming. 46. 133

    Is "snitching" a sin?

We tell our kids not to tattle, but why? Is being a “snitch” always wrong—or could it sometimes be the right thing to do? In this episode, we explore the good and bad sides of snitching. When does it come from a desire for justice, truth, or protection? And when does it cross the line into gossip, revenge, or self-promotion? We’ll dive into real-life examples, biblical wisdom, and even a funny story from high school about “snitching” on a senior trip. Ultimately, we’ll discuss how the gospel shapes our motives and actions in these moments, reminding us to seek truth and repentance—for ourselves and for others. Your sin isn't someone else's fault!

In this episode of Hold Fast, we dive into the age-old temptation of blame-shifting when it comes to sin. From Adam and Eve in the garden to our modern-day excuses, humanity has always been quick to point the finger elsewhere. But the Bible is clear: your sin is your responsibility. Join us as we unpack what Scripture says about owning up to our failures, the danger of justifying sin, and the freedom that comes with genuine repentance. It's time to stop blaming others and start taking responsibility for the condition of your heart.
