Prayer Is More Powerful Than You Think

In 1 John 5:16–17, John tells believers that when we see someone caught in sin, our response should be prayer. In a world that either ignores sin or harshly condemns people, Scripture calls us to intercede with humility, persistence, and confidence that God still changes hearts. This episode talks about the power of prayer, being salt and light in a dark world, and why only God can truly transform someone from the inside out. We also walk through the danger of habitual sin, the call to lovingly confront, and Jesus’ teaching on prayer that refuses to give up.Reflection Questions:1. How do I view prayer? Do I truly believe it's as powerful as Scripture says it is?2. Is there someone God is calling me to consistently intercede for?3. Am I allowing God to search my own heart while praying for others?

  2. 94

    Praying with Confidence

A lot of believers know about God, yet still approach Him timidly — uncertain, distant, or afraid. In this episode, we walk through 1 John 5:13-15 to uncover what real confidence before God actually looks like. Jesus modeled complete honesty with the Father while still fully trusting His will.We talk through what it means to pray boldly instead of fearfully, how intimacy with God shapes & transforms our desires, and why believers don’t have to live constantly guessing God’s will. If you’ve ever struggled with doubt, unanswered prayers, fear of disappointment, or feeling distant from God, this episode is a reminder that Jesus did not make a way for you to approach the Father like an outsider. Through Him, we’ve been invited into confidence and closeness with God.Reflection Questions:1. Am I praying like someone trying to earn God’s love...or someone who already has it?2. What desires or fears do I need to honestly surrender to God?3. Do I really believe God hears me when I pray...and that He will answer?

  3. 93

    What Are You Calling "Life?"

In this episode, we examine 1 John 5:10–12. John makes a clear declaration that those who have the Son have life, while also revealing that this life is not something we wait for in the future. It's rooted in Christ Himself right now. We are reminded firmly that life does not originate from anything this world offers, but from Jesus alone. We talk about what it means that eternal life is not just a future promise of Heaven, but a present reality through relationship with God. If Jesus is truly the source of life, then it reshapes how we view identity, freedom, peace, and the words we speak over ourselves. This episode invites you to examine where you may have been agreeing with “death statements” instead of living from the truth of what Christ has already given!Reflection Questions:1. What have I been calling “life” that may not actually be rooted in Jesus?2. Where have I been agreeing with hopelessness or limitation instead of the identity I’ve been given in Christ?3. Am I living each day aware that true life is already found in the Son, right now—not just later?

  4. 92

Don't Let the World Redefine Jesus

This episode sits in 1 John 5:6–9 and the powerful testimony pointing to who Jesus truly is. John writes about the Spirit, the water, and the blood all bearing witness that Jesus is the Son of God — not just a man, but the Savior brought in to take away the sins of the world. Together, we break down the theological depth of this passage in a practical & understandable way.We also talk about the importance of being anchored in the Word of God in a world constantly trying to redefine Jesus. This conversation is an invite to deepen your understanding of Christ, strengthen your faith, and remember that God Himself has already testified about His Son.Reflection Questions:1. Is my belief about who Jesus is rooted in Scripture?2. Am I allowing God’s Word to shape my view of Jesus, or am I just choosing the parts that feel comfortable?3. Is there any area of my life where I’m struggling to fully believe Jesus for freedom, healing, or transformation?

  5. 91

    From Duty to Delight

This episode reads through 1 John 5:1–5 and the fact that our faith hinges on believing that Jesus is the Son of God and Savior of the world. John connects belief, love, obedience, and victory, reminding us that genuine faith in Jesus transforms the way we live and love others. We talk about what it means to truly love God’s children, why obedience is the root of real love for Him, and how following Jesus is not overbearing but freeing. 6. 90

    Running on Empty?

In this podcast, we go through 1 John 4:19–21 and the truth that love doesn’t start with us but flows from God first. We respond to the love we are continually receiving from Him.In a world where it’s easy to operate on “low-power mode” (giving what’s convenient, holding back when it’s costly), Scripture calls us higher. Real love is revealed through action, consistency, and most clearly in the moments when it’s hardest to show up. We’re invited into a love that is not surface-level, but sacrificial and Spirit-led.Let this be your reminder: you don’t need to try harder...you need to stay connected. God’s love is the source, and when rooted in it, your life becomes a reflection of it!Reflection Questions:1. Am I receiving God’s love, or just trying to replicate it in my own strength?2. What would it look like for me to stay more consistently “plugged in” to God this week?

  7. 89

From Fear to Confidence in God's Love

This episode focuses on 1 John 4:17–18 and the calling to live with complete confidence in God’s love. Not questioning it, not trying to earn it, but actually resting in the truth that because of Jesus, you are fully accepted and fully loved right now.We also talk about the day of judgment...not as something to fear, but something believers can look toward with hope, and what it looks like to live honestly before God in the present day. Reflection Questions: Am I living with confidence in God’s love, or still questioning where I stand with Him? Is there anything in my life I’ve been avoiding surrendering that could cause me to shrink back before God? Do I approach God with freedom and confidence, or hesitation and fear?As you learn to rely on His perfect love, fear loses its grip, and a genuine confidence begins to grow.

  8. 88

Are You Trusting & Resting in God's Love?

This episode centers on 1 John 4:14–16 and the invite to not just know about God’s love, but to truly experience it and trust it. In a world that often distorts love into something we have to create, earn, or strive for, Scripture brings us back to the truth that God is love, and we are called to abide in Him.If you’ve been feeling spiritually dry or caught in striving to “be more loving,” this episode explores the shift from striving to abiding. We also go deeper into how past wounds and imperfect relationships can shape our ability to trust love, and why God’s love is completely different. Reflection Questions:1. Are you currently living from a place of striving to earn love, or resting in the love God freely gives you?2. In what areas of your life are you finding it hardest to fully trust God’s love...and why?3. What would it look like for you to actively abide in God’s love instead of trying to manufacture it yourself? As you learn to rest in His love, you move from emptiness to overflow!

  9. 87

Are You Growing in the Revelation of God's Love?

In this episode, we rest in 1 John 4:11–13 and breakdown what it really means for God’s love to be made complete in us. This isn’t about trying harder or being more loving in our own strength. It’s about receiving the love of God, encountering Jesus personally, and allowing His Spirit to overflow through us into the lives right in front of us.We talk about faith without seeing, how Jesus reveals the unseen God, and why loving others is not just a command, but the evidence that God is actively living within us.This is a challenge to go even deeper in understanding and knowing God's love...because when you truly encounter it, you live it out!Reflection Questions:1. Am I truly receiving God’s love freely?2. Where in my daily life is God inviting me to love more intentionally -- and how can I rely on His Spirit to do it?3. How well am I loving the specific people God has placed in front of me today?

  10. 86

    Already Loved, Nothing to Prove

We’re continuing in 1 John 4:9-10 and going deeper into what it truly means that God is love. This episode unpacks how God didn’t just define love; He demonstrated it through Jesus. His love is not based on our performance, but fully revealed through sacrifice, inviting us to live through Him instead of striving on our own.We talk about what it looks like to move from knowing about God’s love to actually living from it, how the world distorts love into something temporary, and how fixing our eyes on Jesus changes everything. When we understand that love started with Him, it reshapes how we live, what we pursue, and how we respond.Reflection Questions:1. Am I living like I’m already fully loved, or like I still have something to prove?2. What is currently motivating me...and is it rooted in something eternal or temporary?3. Do I truly know God’s love, or have I just been familiar with it?

    The Truth About Love

We’re in 1 John 4:7–8, grounding ourselves in the truth that God is love — and that real love flows from knowing Him.This episode unpacks the difference between worldly love & biblical love, reminding us that love isn't just a feeling but a choice, action, and often a sacrifice. God is the source of love, Jesus is the example of love, and the Holy Spirit is the power that enables us to love others. As we grow in relationship with God, His love should become evident in our lives...like an aroma that others can recognize through our actions, attitudes, and the way we treat people.Reflection Questions:1. Is my love evident in my actions, or just in my words?2. Do I tend to love only when it benefits me or feels easy?3. If God’s love is like an aroma, what do people experience when they’re around me?

  12. 84

    The Greater One in You

We’re in 1 John 4:4–6, grounding ourselves in the truth that the Spirit of God within us is greater than anything in this world. This episode talks about spiritual discernment, the reality of deception, and what it looks like to live in the authority Jesus has already given us. Culture may celebrate what pulls us away from God, but we are called to stay rooted and walk fully aligned with Him.When we stop compromising and start surrendering, we close the door to the enemy and step into the authority we were meant to live in.Reflection Questions:1. Is there any area of my life where I’ve been compromising or justifying sin?2. What voices am I listening to — God’s or the world's?3. Am I living like I truly believe the Spirit within me is greater?4. What would it look like for me to walk in my authority in Christ?

John doesn’t just warn us — he gives us a clear, practical way to evaluate truth in real time. This episode breaks down how to recognize false teachings, why not every voice with authority is rooted in God, and how to stay grounded in what Scripture says. What does my life actually communicate about what I believe?

  14. 82

    Evidence of Christ in You

We’re closing out 1 John 3, going through verses 23–24, and bringing it back to the core commands: believe in Jesus, love one another, and walk in obedience. This episode unpacks what it truly means to trust in the name of Jesus. This isn't just knowing about Him, but living in alignment with who He is. When we abide in Him, our lives begin to reflect Him.As we walk in step with His Spirit, He doesn’t just dwell in us...He flourishes within us!Reflection Questions:1. Do I truly trust who Jesus is — or just know about Him?2. Do I know His character in a way that allows me to imitate Him?3. Is my life reflecting the fruit of abiding in Him?4. Where is God calling me to deeper obedience right now?

When you abide in Christ, your life aligns with Him, and with that, so do your prayers.Reflection Questions:1. Whose voice am I listening to right now?2. Am I acting (serving, giving, loving, etc.) from genuine love or self-induced pressure?3. What is shaping my heart today?Let this leave you with encouragement to fully trust that He is a good Father who delights in giving His children the very best!

  16. 80

The Greatest Love Story Ever Told!

We're starting the week in 1 John 3:16–19 — a powerful reminder that real love isn’t just spoken in words, but shown in action. In this episode, we dive into the greatest love story of all time — Jesus’ sacrifice for us — and how His death, resurrection, and ascension made a way for His Spirit to live within us. Because of that, we’re not just called to receive His love…we’re empowered to live it out. We talk about what sacrificial love actually looks like in everyday life and challenge ourselves to move beyond words into action.Reflection Questions:1. Are you loving others sacrificially, or only when it’s convenient?2. How can you reflect Christ's love in your daily life right now?3. What do your actions say about how you love?

  17. 79

    Love Shouldn’t Be Optional!

In this episode, we walk through 1 John 3:11-15 and unpack what it really means to live a life marked by love. We confront hard truths about anger, bitterness, people-pleasing, and what our actions are ultimately revealing. Scripture says a life with love isn’t just “off-track,” but it’s spiritually dead. This is a call to examine your heart, surrender your emotions, and allow God to grow a bold & transformative love within you. Reflection Questions:1. What is my life currently proving? Am I marked by love or just claiming it?2. Is there any anger, jealousy, or bitterness in my heart that I’ve been agreeing or partnering with instead of surrendering it to God?3. Am I loving people in a way that costs me something, or only when it’s easy and comfortable?

  18. 78

    Fighting Sin vs. Feeding It

As we dive into 1 John 3:7-9, this episode goes straight into this question: Are you fighting your sin or feeding it?? This isn’t about the moments you’re struggling and bringing your weakness to God; it’s about what happens when we start excusing sin and settling into it. Jesus didn’t come to manage sin; He came to destroy it. That means we’re not called to live stuck or in agreement with things He already crucified to the cross. When we consistently entertain sin, it shapes what’s leading us. We’re warned not to be tricked, because even faithful believers can drift into compromise if & when we stop being intentional.Reflection Questions:1. Where in my life am I excusing sin instead of turning away from it?2. What am I consistently feeding — my flesh or my spirit?3. Who or what is really influencing my thoughts right now?

  19. 77

Are You Killing Sin — or Is It Killing You?

In 1 John 3:4–6, we’re confronted with a hard but freeing truth: there’s a difference between falling into sin and continuing in it. One leads to repentance; the other reveals something deeper.John points beyond behavior to something more serious: when you really know Jesus, everything else changes. Sin loses its grip, not because of willpower, but because of relationship.Through Christ, we’ve already been given everything we need to live a godly life (2 Peter 1:3)!Reflection Questions:1. Do I truly know Jesus in a personal, intimate way — or just know about Him?2. Is there any area of sin that I’m continuing in instead of actively turning from?3. What am I choosing daily — life or death, freedom or what’s familiar? Are we walking in the truth, or believing a lie that we can manage sin and still remain in Him?

  20. 76

Living Like Royalty — Today, Not Someday

In this episode, we look at 1 John 3:1–3 and sit in the reality that we are not just saved but adopted as sons and daughters of God right now. His love isn’t minimal but lavish and overflowing! When you truly receive that, it changes how you move, what you chase, and how you see yourself. We also talk about the hope of becoming like Jesus and how that future reality should shape how we live right now. When your eyes are fixed on Him, purity becomes a response, and your life begins to reflect the royalty you’ve been called into.Reflection Questions:1. Am I living from my identity as God’s child, or still looking to the world for worth?2. Have I truly received the Father’s lavish love, or grown numb to it?3. What do I want to be found doing when I come face-to-face with Jesus? What if you actually lived like who God says you are?

  21. 75

Don't Go Back: Continuing in Him

We’ll be reading in 1 John 2:28-29 today with a simple but weighty call: remain— and continue — in Christ. Faith isn’t just something we say we have; it’s something that shows. This doesn't mean perfection, but it should be consistent. As God transforms us daily into His image, what once fit us no longer does. So why go back? You’ve been clothed in righteousness. Reflection Questions:1. Do I just know the truth about who I am in Christ...or do I actually believe it and live like it?2. Is there anything in my life that I’m holding onto (or justifying) that God is calling me to let go of?3. If Jesus returned today, would I run to Him with confidence and joy...or would something hold me back?If you do know the truth, don't return to the lie! Walk IN the truth. Live IN the light.

  22. 74

    Don't Lose the Fire!

It’s easy to drift from the very message that saved us...In this episode, we go through 1 John 2:24-27 and remind ourselves of the basics of the Gospel message — Jesus, what He’s done, and the truth that we’re saved by grace through faith. This is the message we heard from the beginning, and it’s meant to stay burning in our hearts. We also talk about what it means to truly remain in Him — not striving, but abiding in a real, personal relationship with God through the Holy Spirit.Reflection Questions:1. Is the gospel still burning in my heart, or has it become familiar?2. Am I striving in my faith, or truly abiding in Him?3. What does “remaining” in Him look like for me today?

  23. 73

Anointed: What That Really Means For You

Today we’re in 1 John 2:20–23, breaking down what it means to be anointed and how the Holy Spirit leads us into truth. This passage reminds us that as believers, we’ve been given access to the truth through the Spirit — but in a world full of deception, it’s possible to think we know truth while missing Jesus entirely. We talk about what it means to be set apart, how we’ve been given the mind of Christ, and why you can’t accept the Father while rejecting the Son. Jesus is the full revelation of God, so to know Him is to know truth.Reflection Questions:1. If I'm a Christian, do I live with the awareness that I’ve been given the Holy Spirit and full access to truth?2. Am I rooted in Jesus...or just familiar with spiritual ideas?3. Is there anything I’m believing that feels right but isn’t grounded in God’s Word?

  24. 72

The Last Hour: Are You Running or Coasting?

What if we’re closer than we realize? In today’s episode, we sit in 1 John 2:18–20 and look into what it means to live in “the last hour.” Using the imagery of running the final lap of a race, this convo is a call to wake up from spiritual apathy and run with intention, endurance, and focus. We talk about the reality of deception, the presence of antichrist spirits today, and why staying rooted in God’s Word is essential for discernment and protection. Just being around truth isn’t the same as being anchored in it.Reflection Questions:1. Am I running hard after Christ, or have I been coasting spiritually?2. Am I rooted in God’s Word, or just relying on surface-level understanding?3. Who around me needs truth, encouragement, or strengthening in their faith today? We're not just called to "make it" to the end; we're called to run to win.

  25. 71

    Where Are Your Affections?

What does it really mean to not love the world? In this episode, we dive into 1 John 2:15–17 and see how this passage isn’t about rejecting people or God’s creation, but about guarding our hearts from the world’s values. We talk about how worldliness starts internally, the 3 strategies the enemy still uses today, and why a divided heart will always dilute our love for God.This is a call to examine what we’re entertaining, where our affections truly lie, and whether we’re more focused on appearing holy or actually being transformed.Reflection Questions:1. Is anything currently competing for my affection with God?2. Am I entertaining thoughts or desires that are pulling me away from Him?3. Do my daily choices reflect a heart fully surrendered to God?

  26. 70

The In-Between: When You Can't See What God Is Doing

Good Friday is behind us; Easter Sunday is coming. But what about the time in-between?In this Holy Saturday episode, we sit in the tension of silence — the space where Jesus is in the tomb and hope feels lost. Through Luke 23:54–56, we look at the quiet faithfulness of the women who chose obedience even in their grief… and what that means for us today.Reflection Questions:1. Where in my life does it feel like God is silent right now?2. Am I choosing obedience even in the waiting?3. What would it look like to trust that God is still working behind the scenes? All hope is not lost…it’s just arriving!! Just because God is quiet doesn’t mean He’s not working.

  27. 69

    The Cross Changes Everything.

Happy Good Friday! Instead of moving forward in 1 John, we’re pausing to sit with the cross. In this episode, we walk through Isaiah 53 and reflect on who Jesus is, what He truly accomplished, and why it still matters for your life today.Every detail of the cross was intentional. Every wound carried purpose. And through His suffering, we’ve been given healing, freedom, and full access to the Father. This isn’t just something to remember; it’s something to live from.Reflection Questions:1. Am I truly living in the reality of what Jesus accomplished?2. Where do I need to come into agreement with truth and speak life instead of death?3. Is Jesus actually the center of my life…or just a part of it?*How are you responding to this kind of love…every day?

  28. 68

Are You Growing in Spiritual Maturity?

What does it actually mean to grow in your faith??In this episode, we walk through 1 John 2:12–14 and underline three stages of spiritual maturity. This passage reminds us that maturity isn’t about age, but about how deeply we know God.From understanding your full forgiveness in Christ, to actively fighting sin with the Word, to walking in deep intimacy with the Father...this is the journey we’re all invited into.Reflection Questions:1. Where am I currently in my spiritual growth — and am I actively pursuing deeper maturity?2. Is God’s Word stored in my heart enough to fight temptation when it comes?3. What is currently taking priority over knowing Christ more deeply? You weren’t created to stay stagnant. There is always more of God to know!!

  29. 67

From the contrast of light vs. darkness to the call to pursue peace (not just avoid conflict), this passage challenges the way we show up in our relationships...especially within the body of Christ.Reflection Questions:1. Am I avoiding conflict to stay comfortable, or truly pursuing peace?2. Is my love for others centered around me… or does it reflect Jesus?3. Who is God inviting me to love differently right now?Love isn’t a feeling we wait for; it’s a choice we make. And it’s often revealed most in the moments that feel the hardest.

  30. 66

    A New Standard of Love

As we continue through 1 John 2:7–8, we’re reminded that the call to love isn’t new — but through Jesus, it’s been fully revealed. In this episode, we reflect on how love was once understood in part, but now has a face in the person of Christ. As we sit in Holy Week, we look at the weight behind Jesus’ words in John 13 and what it truly means to love as He loved. This isn’t passive, surface-level love. It’s active, sacrificial, and rooted in truth. We also take time to examine our own hearts—asking if we’re walking in that kind of love, or holding onto things that are hindering our relationship with God and others.Reflection Questions:1. Am I demonstrating Christ-like love...both in truth and in action?2. Is there anything in my heart (bitterness, jealousy, unforgiveness) that I need to release to God?3. Would others see the truth of the Gospel reflected in how I live?

  31. 65

Evidence of a Real Relationship with God

In this episode, we read through 1 John 2:3–6, which invites us to wrestle with a question many of us may have asked at some point: “Am I really saved?” or "How do I know I'm going to Heaven?"We talk about the assurance of salvation — not rooted in fear or repetition, but in a life that reflects genuine love for God through obedience. John makes it clear that knowing God isn’t just something we say, it’s something we live.We also unpack what it means to truly love others, how that flows from first receiving God’s love, and why daily time with Jesus is essential if we want to reflect Him well. From the small, everyday decisions to the deeper heart posture of surrender, this is a call to actually live like Jesus.Reflection Questions:1. Does my life reflect real obedience to God — or just words?2. Am I spending daily time with Jesus, or trying to run on empty?3. Is there any area where I’m still entertaining sin instead of surrendering it?

  32. 64

Called Higher: Growing up in God

As John continues in 1 John 2:1–2, he writes with both deep love and clear conviction — like a father urging his children to grow up in their faith. In this episode, we unpack the call to spiritual maturity, the danger of misusing grace, and the truth that confession is not meant to keep us stuck in cycles of sin. John highlights that while the goal is to live free from sin, we are not left without hope when we fall...we have an Advocate in Jesus, the Righteous One!These verses call us to pursue holiness as children of light, but also reminds us we are fully covered, forgiven, and defended by Christ. When we truly grasp the depth of His forgiveness, it transforms the way we live — and the way we love others.Reflection Questions:1. Am I growing in the faith — or staying the same?2. Do I misuse God's grace or let it transform me?3. Am I living in freedom...or still thinking I'm on trial?4. How can I reflect my Father's holiness in my everyday life?

What Confession Really Means...And Why It Changes Everything

In 1 John 1:8–10, we’re reminded of a foundational truth: we all fall short...but we are never beyond the grace of God.In this episode, we talk about what it really means to confess our sins and why it’s not about earning God’s acceptance, but restoring intimacy with Him. While the world may either minimize sin or be crushed by it, Scripture calls us to live in truth — honest about our condition, yet confident in God’s faithfulness to forgive and cleanse us through Christ.Confession isn’t meant to trap us in guilt, but to free us. It’s an invitation to stop hiding, come into agreement with God, and experience the fullness of relationship He desires with us.Reflection Questions:1. Do I tend to minimize my sin or feel overwhelmed by guilt?2. When I mess up, do I run from God or run to Him?3. Is my confession rooted in fear… or in a desire for closeness with God?4. What is God bringing to light in my life right now that I need to be honest about?

  34. 62

You Can't Walk in Light and Darkness

In 1 John 1:5–7, John lays out a bold and foundational truth: God is light, and there is no darkness in Him at all.In this episode, we unpack what it truly means to walk in the light. John challenges the idea that we can claim fellowship with God while continuing in sin, reminding us that real relationship with Him transforms how we live. We also look at the power of Jesus’ blood —not just covering sin, but continually cleansing us — so we can live in honest, ongoing fellowship with God.Reflection Questions:1. Am I truly living as a child of light, or just claiming it?2. Is there any area of my life where I’m holding onto darkness?3. Who am I really living for in my daily life?4. How do I respond when God brings conviction?

Do I truly know God, or just know about Him?2. What am I currently looking to for life and fulfillment?3. Does my daily life reflect a real relationship with Jesus?4. Am I bold and unashamed in sharing my faith?

  36. 60
