The John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum is one of the world's premier arenas for political speech, discussion, and debate. Located at the heart of the John F. Kennedy School of Government, the Forum regularly hosts heads of state; leaders in politics, government, business, labor and the media; academics; community organizers; and artists. In addition to speeches, debates, and panel discussions on pressing issues, the Forum has sponsored television and radio programs, film screenings, and theatrical productions.Since its founding in 1978, the Forum has hosted more than one thousand events, seen by live audiences totaling more than 650,000 people and millions more via cable television, teleconferencing and the internet.

Public Schools, Michelle Rhee joined Paul Reville, a professor of Practice of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, for a conversation about the future of education policy. She spoke regarding the prevalence of standardized testing, emphasizing that no education reformer considers standardized tests to be an exhaustive measure of a student’s ability. She continued that the teacher would always look beyond mere test scores to gauge a student’s ability, yet standardized tests do provide the initial value of comparing where students stand. Maggie Williams, Director of the Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School, introduced the program.

    Walter Isaacson addressed the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum after reporters from the Associated Press were awarded the annual Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting for their work on “Seafood from Slaves.” He spoke about the intersection of technology and journalism in an increasingly interconnected global community. Isaacson discussed the broken business model of journalism, which he argues needs more support from journalism users rather than simply subscription models and advertisements.

Kennedy School of Government, the Forum regularly hosts heads of state; leaders in politics, government, business, labor and the media; academics; community organizers; and artists. In addition to speeches, debates, and panel discussions on pressing issues, the Forum has sponsored television and radio programs, film screenings, and theatrical productions.Since its founding in 1978, the Forum has hosted more than one thousand events, seen by live audiences totaling more than 650,000 people and millions more via cable television, teleconferencing and the internet.
