All at Once. [EN-TR] Izmir 10.2025

10th - 14th October 2025. All at Once. Teaching and Meditation retreat led by James Low at Şirince Village, Selçuk, in İzmir, Turkey.https://simplybeing.co.uk/events/all-at-once-teaching-retreat-izmir-oct-2025/PS: This recording contains only the second half of the retreat.Organised by Mustafa Mert Çelebi, Sevgi Çakıcı and Trevor Brown. The focus of this retreat is seeing how we limit our potential by hanging on to habits and impulses which do not function well in the world in which we find ourselves. Dzogchen, the Great Completion, is the heart of Tibetan Buddhism and it offers us a way to release ourselves from the limiting ideas that we have of ourselves so that the freshness of our simple presence can illuminate our life in a new way. These teachings and practices help us to see the fleeting nature of all experience. With this clarity we can let go of our habit of effortful striving to solidify the flow of experience. This approach to life offers us a profound choice. Either we can continue to objectify whatever occurs so that we can name it and try to shape it to fit our sense of how we want our life to be. Or we can relax and open to being part of the flow, gently influencing how we emerge as part of the circumstances we encounter. This latter approach frees us from the need to verify and analyse so that we can enjoy the freshness of each and every moment. This short retreat will introduce us to the essence of the view of Dzogchen and facilitate how we can enter into direct experience of non-dual co-emergence. There will be periods of teaching and of meditation practice.Referred text: 'Prayer Evocation of Kuntuzangpo', availabel in English, Spanish and Portuguese: https://bit.ly/4tpWxwz Turkish translation: Mustafa Mert ÇelebiCover art: Taryn Elliott (Pexels.com)📱 Instagram of excerpts: instagram.com/simplybeingsangha🎧 Poscasts of some teachinhgs: simplybeing.co.uk/news/podcasts/📆 Learn more about future events: simplybeing.co.uk/eventsVideo at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7syJlFOJeU

Equanimity - Finding balance in a turbulent world. Macclesfield 02.2019

22-24 February 2019. Equanimity - Finding balance in a turbulent world. James Low conducted these teaching weekend for the Kun-Pan Ling Buddhist group in Macclesfield, UK.Attempts to withdraw from turbulence or to control the mind are actions which increase our sense of separation. The mahayana view looks at how our mind is, rather than focusing on its impermanent contents. In the meditation we seek to open to that which is stable, an invitation, an explanation and a practice.~ James LowRecorded by Charles Lomas and Gareth Williams.Transcript of the retreat: https://bit.ly/4rtBaskAudio recording of the retreat: https://simplybeing.co.uk/audio-recordings/retreats/macclesfield-talk-no-20-equanimity/Learn more about future events: simplybeing.co.uk/events/📱 Instagram of excerpts: https://instagram.com/SBSangha_JamesLow🎧 Poscasts of some teachings: https://simplybeing.co.uk/news/podcasts/📆 Learn more about future events: https://simplybeing.co.uk/events/Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqyJZ-bwCYA

If the ground source is not seen and opened to then all that is imagined is reified and then we experience ourselves as existents in a world of existents.~ James LowTexts translated from the Tibetan into various languages:• The Record of the Heart-felt Advice of the Dakini, Indestructible Glorious Lamp: https://simplybeing.co.uk/texts-and-transcripts/translations/heartfelt-advice-ayu-khandro/• Uncovering the Presence of the Mother of all the Buddhas: a treasure text of Gonpo Wangyal: https://simplybeing.co.uk/texts-and-transcripts/estonian/gonpo-wangyal-text-mother-buddhas/Audio recording of this video: https://bit.ly/4oGBjYsPortuguese translators: Madalena Pedroza & Milton PetruczokSpanish translator: Mariana Orozco & Juan García Lázaro (@juanb.garcialazaro)Cover video art: ed1toR, via Pexels.com📱 Instagram of excerpts: https://instagram.com/SBSangha_JamesLow🎧 Poscasts of some teachings: https://simplybeing.co.uk/news/podcasts/📆 Learn more about future events: https://simplybeing.co.uk/events/Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2BwDfKYmRE

    42 Questions & Answers. [EN-IT] Zoom 06.2025

June 4th 2025. James Low had invited questions from people watching his Zooms, which he began to answer.1) Is consciousness and mind the same in Buddhism? Is my mind which is deluded and has its own habits and tendencies the same as the mind which is primordial, unborn and clear? If so why is the mind which I call mine deluded?2) Are the explanations about karma and rebirth offered by traditional Buddhism part of a theory or belief or is it part of experience? Is it under the domain of consciousness or the domain of awareness? Does it make sense to practice Dzogchen without fully accepting these theories?3) What does it mean if a rinpoche bangs you on the head or gives you a shock?4) The luminous mind that we all have: is it also a compounded phenomena? If yes, how do we know when it is present and when not?5) Can a mind involved in conceptual elaboration ever generate compassion or loving kindness? Right mindfulness is one aspect of the eight-fold path. What are instances of wrong mindfulness? How do I guard against wrong mindfulness?6) In the White A practice, can we eventually include a Padmasambhava visualization with the three colors, the ball that radiates white light and drops into our heart, etc., or the practice of visualizing the tube that goes from the crown of our head to the perineum and then expands?7) We have some experience within the Theravada and Zen traditions; now we start to explore Dzogchen. What would you recommend: pointing out instructions, initiation, long-term retreat?8) Is there a practice that can be used to improve someone's situation? How would this work?English: youtu.be/xnsfHHP9vRsEnglish (without silence cuts): youtu.be/Z5vLJzeK4foGerman: youtu.be/Z6MKqkIVY48Russian: youtu.be/b-i8VP36OzsPolish: youtu.be/r4g3DkxASwQSpanish: youtu.be/tyWlgXr2RHUPortuguese: youtu.be/UOc2Bi_XuYQRomanian: youtu.be/GrmoLpoUMvYItalian: youtu.be/vDS6yQ_aK9w (you are here)Italian translation: Rosanna D'Urso📱 Instagram of excerpts: https://instagram.com/SBSangha_JamesLow🎧 Poscasts of some teachings: https://simplybeing.co.uk/news/podcasts/📆 Learn more about future events: https://simplybeing.co.uk/events/Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDS6yQ_aK9w

2/2 Audiobook "Buddha Shows the Way" in Portuguese

Audiobook 'Buddha Shows the Way - A collection of public talks and teachings', by James Low and transtaled and spoken to Portuguese by Madalena PedrozaThis book contains a selection of edited public talks given by James Low. They cover a wide range of topics yet share a common theme: how to apply Buddhist teachings in our complex engagement with the modern world. We are all faced with ever increasing tasks of life maintenance as we struggle to cope with the profound impact of climate change, conflict, economic chaos, environmental and political instabilities. Moreover our own inner life is prey to habitual tendencies, impulses and blind spots so that our sense of the world is often more muddled than we imagine it to be.The Buddhist view encourages us to see the ungraspable illusory nature of every situation in order that we might avoid being buffeted by samsara's waves of hopes and fears. With this clarity our own potential can be turned towards the benefit of the many rather than towards individual selfish pursuits. The Buddha shows the way contains eighteen short chapters which can be read in any order so it is a book that can be dipped into according to your mood and time available.E-Book and paperback: https://www.amazon.com.br/Buddha-show...1/2 Audiobook "Buddha Shows the Way" in Portuguese:    • 1/2 Audiobook "Buddha Shows the Way" in Po...  2/2 Audiobook "Buddha Shows the Way" in Portuguese:    • 2/2 Audiobook "Buddha Shows the Way" in Po...   (you are here)📱 Instagram of excerpts:   / sbsangha_jameslow  🎧 Poscasts of some teachinhgs: https://simplybeing.co.uk/news/podcasts/📆 Learn more about future events: https://simplybeing.co.uk/eventsVideo at https://youtu.be/FGCe5sxX-j8?si=x0YB8XwhxiAt_D97

Life comes as it comes. We do not know what events will arise and impact us. Struggling to stay in charge of what is occurring is exhausting while letting events determine our situation is unwise. The Buddhist Middle Way indicates that we can rest in open awareness while avoiding the extremes of over-involvement and under-involvement. We will focus on the Dzogchen teachings of relaxing and releasing our habitual patterns of reactivity so that our participation is both spontaneous and precise – contactful, yet neither invading nor abandoning.Dates: 16-21 June 2025Location: Emerson College, Hartfield Road, Forest Row, East Sussex RH18 5JXTalking: James LowOrganiser: Huw WynAudio Recording: Gareth WilliamsGareth initially prepared 3 taster sessions, 6/8/25Original teachings published at https://simplybeing.co.uk/audio-records/retreats/otherengland/emerson-college/open-to-life-emerson-college-16-21-june-2025/

I am so upset by the prospects that I completely exclude all news and refrain from discussions on the topic. Withdrawing in this way is good for my blood pressure but is it wise to withdraw to this degree?2) James says the guru yoga of the White A is enough yet he also describes the bo??. So do I need to do more to prepare myself for that?3) If I do the guru yoga of the White A, the energy of the practice tends to linger with me. I prefer to just sit without this structure. What is the difference between elaborated and unelaborated forms of open sitting?4) When recognizing a strong dislike for something or someone, what would be a skillful way on the relative level to manage this to continue to engage with the person or situation or to simply move away?5) We can discover the nature of the mind in the gap between the object which is perceived as external and the consciousness which perceives that object. However, when a thought arises, we perceive it immediately without a gap. Thought is consciousness. The object and the subject are inseparable. Could you please explain how to free thoughts?English: youtu.be/090SUATHtAoEnglish (without silence cuts): youtu.be/lVuU-5T6NmYGerman: youtu.be/Vc6xmCDJIRQRussian: youtu.be/PSL516QWrGwPolish: youtu.be/iU7FkxSM47c (you are here)Spanish: youtu.be/U1FF_2nFhv4Portuguese: youtu.be/pT-NQkZhtbIRomanian: youtu.be/HdJIpaIuq1MTurkish: [soon]Polish translation: Bartłomiej CzajkowskiPlaylist “Pytania & Odpowiedzi. Everything is in here and now

Extract from "Wisdom and Compassion", on March 7-8th 2025, weekend teachings with James Low at Townley Hall in Macclesfield, UK: https://youtu.be/jtjlM1CYuN4Wisdom and Compassion are often said to be like the two wings of a bird. With their collaboration, we can fly free of the snares of samsara and its false dualism. We will integrate the wisdom of emptiness, which reveals how all our experience is like an illusion, with the kind compassion, which brings us into authentic contact.James has been teaching in Macclesfield once or twice a year since 2003 and you can listen to recordings of his teachings here: https://simplybeing.co.uk/category/audio-records/retreats/otherengland/macclesfield/📱 Instagram of excerpts: https://instagram.com/SBSangha_JamesLow🎧 Poscasts of some teachings: https://simplybeing.co.uk/news/podcasts/📆 Learn more about future events: https://simplybeing.co.uk/events/Video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9MCxk0BjXk
