Freedom from a human inspired religion

Who is my enemy? Paul gives us a clue in his Letter to the Ephesians, a circular letter that seems to have been passed around various communities in the city of Ephesus in today’s Türkiye. It is found in chapter 6 verse 12. ‘For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.’ Join the Rev. Dr. Michael J. Sutton as he brings us a new episode in the second series of Jesus for Busy People titled, ‘The Freedom Jesus Brings.’ Jesus for Busy People, no politics, no agenda, just Jesus.

  19. 21

Freedom from the fear of others made in God's image

In the New Testament, Christians knew the names of brothers across the sea, but in the West, we Christians often don’t know the name of their brothers around the corner. When the early disciples wrote the letters and books that comprise the New Testament, the question of friendship and enmity, war and peace, conflict and resolution were at the heart of what it meant to be a Christian. Join the Rev. Dr. Michael J. Sutton as he brings us a new episode in the second series of Jesus for Busy People titled, ‘The Freedom Jesus Brings.’ Jesus for Busy People, no politics, no agenda, just Jesus.

  20. 20

Freedom from imaginary thoughts about Jesus

Do you really know the real Jesus? Jesus was rejected by his own people, by his own family, and by his own friends. He died alone and betrayed and was buried in the tomb of a stranger. Join the Rev. Dr. Michael J. Sutton as he brings us a new episode in the second series of Jesus for Busy People titled, ‘The Freedom Jesus Brings.’ Jesus for Busy People, no politics, no agenda, just Jesus.

  21. 19

Freedom from the fear of exclusion

The fear of exclusion, the fear of being cast out, of not being accepted, of being seen as ‘the enemy,’ is not surprising in our world. They say, ‘you are not one of us,’ and you see it in their eyes, the way they move away from you, the way they judge you in their minds and in their hearts. What they are saying is ‘you are unacceptable to us.' Join the Rev. Dr. Michael J. Sutton as he brings us a new episode in the second series of Jesus for Busy People titled, ‘The Freedom Jesus Brings.’ Jesus for Busy People, no politics, no agenda, just Jesus.

  22. 18

    The freedom Jesus brings

Starting in our next episode is our second series titled 'The freedom Jesus brings.' Jesus brings us freedom, and it is not about politics or agendas. Jesus is the embodiment of the love of God, and this is seen through his life, death and resurrection.

  23. 17

The good news is that we can live in the light

The good news is that Jesus brings light to this dark world so we can live in the light

  24. 16

The good news is that Jesus took our place

What was his Father doing while Jesus was on the cross? The Father, grieving, was turning his face away. He could not look upon his Son, he could not look upon sin, and he forsook his only Son, whom he loved, for on that cross, Jesus became sin. This is the heart of Christianity.

  25. 15

The good news is freedom from the darkness of Christ's death

The darkness of Christ's death is the darkness when God the Father turned his face away from the Son so he would never turn his face away from us.

  26. 14

The good news is freedom from the fear of light

It is not the darkness that holds many people back, but the light. For it is in the light that the truth is revealed.

  27. 13

The good news is freedom from the darkness of sin

The good news of Jesus is good news because it turns a person from darkness to light from the power of Satan to God and because of faith, it brings forgiveness of sins and membership in God’s family.

  28. 12

The good news is freedom from the darkness of night

True faith is found in a person who prays alone to God when no one is looking, there is nothing to gain, and no one sees you.

  29. 11

The good news is freedom from skin-deep Christianity

Jesus brought light because people lived in spiritual darkness, bound to false expectations, sin, guilt, shame, prejudice, and the devil.

  30. 10

the good news is freedom from darkness

Paul’s mission after meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus was ‘to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God.'

  31. 9

The good news is a new way of seeing ourselves

If we have the light of the world, Jesus, then his light opens our eyes and seeing ourselves clearly, we can see others clearly.

  32. 8

The good news is a new way of looking at God

God makes himself known through the good news about Jesus that he is alive, that Jesus died for sin, and that Jesus brings forgiveness.

  33. 7

The good news is a person transformed

The death of Jesus accomplished something. It was something real, something personal, and something eternal and what he did meant our lives could be turned around, changed, and made new.

  34. 6

The good news is that Jesus sends us back home again

The worst place God can send us is back home, to the people who know us best, so they can see a life transformed by Jesus, whether we like it or not.

  35. 5

The good news is that Jesus rescues us from others

Jesus rescues us from others, from their expectations, traditions, rituals, and priorities so we can see ourselves without all the background noise.

  36. 4

The good news is that Jesus brings freedom from culture

The good news of Jesus is a rescue operation. Find out what Jesus actually told Paul on the road to Damascus, when he was on his way to destroy those Jewish people who had decided to follow whom they believed was the risen Messiah.
