Hi guys, it's been a long time! I thought I start 2020 with a new sound! I made this short piece using Rymtik Studio. It's an update to those music apps on DSi and 3ds and I am really enjoying the sounds and features it has so far. The inspiration for this little tune is what if Raditz survived in Dragon Ball Z and became a good guy? This is what I imagine his theme might sound like for an early 2000's English Dub Bruce Falconer score. Enjoy!

So, it's usually not my custom to get super personal on here but basically 3 months ago my mom unexpectedly passed away. Needless to say, my motivation for anything musical has been close to zero for a while. As they say though every cloud has a silver lining. It wasn't more than 3 days after this happened that the apartment I have been wanting opened up and I finally got the chance to live on my own for the first time in my life. It took me a while to get up the gumption to move but with the help of friends and family I am now settled in my new place. So with this, I feel the title of this track is fitting. After 3 months of nothing musical at all I'm feeling motivated again and I think that it's a good stepping stone toward recovery with the grieving process and whatnot. I hope you guys enjoy this one and I hope it does well, but more than anything it's just nice to make music and feel a little more like myself again. Thanks in advance for listening. -Jredd

I don't use famitracker super often, but I participated in a one hour battle where some instruments and an introductory drum pattern were already there for me. Yesterday, an episode of an awesome new podcast just dropped with me as the guest! The host Ed asked me what video game music influenced my sound so I picked SHMUPS as my genre. I broke it up into 2 sections to make it a bit more interesting. The first half of the show consists of music that I grew up with and heard back when the games were new, whereas the second half deals with songs I found after I grew up and found music on the internet from games I'd missed out on as a child. I was super comfortable and had a wonderful time on the show and can't wait to come back again to talk about whatever topic we decide might be interesting! Here is the music I came up with for Ecstatic City Zone. Hyper Sonic Fan said he wanted a jazz motif so I gave it a shot :D.

Here is the music for Illusion Fort Zone. This level is supposed to be a trip, so I figured shimmery chords and a floating lead with some grimy FM bass and powerhouse drums might be a cool way to go. The second half goes half time into some pseudo future bass territory for a break down, which I hope rounds out this fun little loop of twists and turns :). Thanks for listening. -Jredd

Here's a try at a chilled out menu track. More of an "idea" than anything but let's see if Hyper Sonic Fan likes it :).

For the title screen of this Sonic fan game, my friend wanted a mixture of Sonic 3, 4, and Sonic CD. So for this I used the YM2151 chip. It sounds similar to the Genesis but has a lot more power behind it. Additionally, I added just a touch of reverb and echo at the very end to make it just that little bit more fancy. I hope he likes it :).

I made this tune with VGM Music Maker for a friend of mine who is making a Sonic The Hedgehog fan game called "Hyper Quest 2". I hope he likes it :).

So here's a little gem of an oddity that I nearly forgot I had actually made at one time. The concept was a racing game where each lap the game evolves. Lap one is Beepola, lap 2 is Famitracker, and yes lap 3 is the result of combing the 2 :). I don't know if anyone else has ever combined these chips before but I think the results are quite cool if a tiny bit muddy :). For anyone wondering what the weird robot voices say It's: "3, 2, 1, Go!" "Lap 2, evolution!" "Final lap! COMBINE!" and "First place! You win!" Why are the voices so odd? Well, they were loosely inspired by the strange sounding announcer in F-Zero X. You can barely understand him but I think he sounds cool and hilarious at the same time. Anyway, I don't think I would have found this one again if not for the awesome 8bc archive. So, enjoy this weird blast from the past! This track here I worked on together with my good friend @Groovemaster303 and now it is featured on the awesome Chiptunes=Win Volume 6!
