Keyhole Conversations is a podcast project intended to explore the thoughts, philosophies, and lives of all the people I find interesting. We dive deep into all forms of subject matter depending on who the person is and what they have to offer. From stories of peoples past, current struggles, or what they do to enjoy life, we cover it all! Many podcasting experts advise to go after a niche market to grow but we find that approach to be too constraining. So come along as we peer into the keyhole which leads to peoples minds and opens up conversation.

    The loss of a parent can be an extremely devastating ordeal. Having lost my father to cancer a little over a year ago I have found the emotional roller coaster can be a difficult one to deal with. Our guest Gabbie recently lost her father to cancer as well so we decided to sit down and talk about our stories together for you all to hear. If you're going through a loss of a loved one know you're not alone in the emotional battle. Your feelings are valid and the amount of emotion both positive and negative can be quite overwhelming at times. Jen converted to the L.D.S. faith in her early 20's and later left the church for personal reasons, which she talks to us about. She also considered herself a conservative in the political realm but has since shifted to a more liberal perspective. It was a pleasure to sit down and have a conversation about the current state of the political world and why she views the world the way she does.

We also hear from his wife and her perspective on the familie's mental health in dealing with a Military Father being deployed.

Steve gives insight on how he came into the business of being a Funeral Director, Mortician, and the ins and outs of the funeral industry, We learn about compassion for families who have recently lost a loved one and the importance of planning ahead. We also discuss some of the day to day responsibilities a Funeral Director must undertake in order to give our loved ones the respect and compassion they deserve when they leave their mortal bodies behind. Throughout my Father's passing Steve and his team at Peel Funeral Home were supportive, understanding and helped us throughout the process and for that I will be eternally grateful.

    This episode marks three years and four days of being sober from alcohol. I myself open up about my struggle with addiction and my father's current health struggles which have tested my mental limits. Although at times I may feel like I want to cave, I stay true to my promise and take the trials, tribulations, and struggles of life one day at a time. I want everyone who listens to this episode in particular to know just how proud I am of my father and how grateful I am for the support from everyone around me in this dark and trying time.
