In this episode we come to the chapter in Pilgrim’s Progress where Christian visits House Beautiful and meets the family there. They talk of the Lord of the Hill and Christians is also equipped for the journey that lays ahead of him!

In todays episode we read chapter seven where Christian must learn a difficult lesson on the hill of difficulty, but despite the set back, he presses on towards his goal!

In this episode we continue on our journey with Christian towards the celestial city. Finally, he comes to the place of deliverance from his terrible burden, and also encounters some foolish travellers on the way.

In this message we consider the evidence of true faith, which is works done unto God in the strength of Spirit. We see how we are saved from the curse of the law, but then made able to walk according to the law to the praise of God’s glorious grace.

In this message, we come to the eternal and glorious covenant of Grace. We see how the covenant of Grace has been in operation from the beginning, and yet is brought to the forefront at the coming of Jesus!

This is one of the most important covenants in the Old Testament, for in it we see God’s gracious plan of salvation unfolding as he sets aside a man from whom the Messiah will come and also demonstrates that salvation comes by grace through faith in His promises!

The effects of sin permeate everything man does and soon the world is so corrupt and filled with evil that God decides to destroy everything with a global flood. However, we also see a picture of grace as God warns Noah and his family and instructs them to build a massive ark through which they will be saved. In a world that is battling for equality on all fronts, we see that God gave us the only true basis for equality and that is in the revelation that we are made as His image bearers. In this episode we start a new journey through the book of 1st Samuel. We see God’s gracious work in the life of Israel, and through the humble prayers of Hannah, bring forward a final judge and faithful prophet who is called Samuel.

In this episode we continue with our study in the letter from James. Sickness can refer to both phyiscal illness, or spiritual weakness and bondage due to unconfessed sin. James gives us clear instruction on what to do in such times, and wonderful promises when we humbly come to God in prayer and seek help from the church body. We also see in Elijah a powerful example of prayer in the history of Israel.

In this episode we continue our study in the letter of James. Sickness, either spiritually or physically, can be a scary time and yet we see that God’s Word is not silent on what to do in such times. We must be willing to humble ourselves and ask for help, and we also need to start with receiving prayer on our behalf. This passage in James also raises some tough questions, and so we tackle one of those questions with a look at anointing oil specifically.

In this episode we consider Jame’s call to pray in all seasons of life. We don’t want to just come to God when we need something, or when we are struggling. We can certainly come in those times as well, but James wants us to come to God in all season of life, trusting that He hears us through Christ our faithful High Priest.

On Palm Sunday Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey. But what does this mean? In this episode we explore the events that Luke describes on this important day.

In the early church, many people thought they had figured out a way to get away with lying. They made promises they didn’t think they had to keep! And yet, we see that James and Jesus and the Scripture as a whole, tells us to let our “yes” be yes and “no” be no, God is truth and He desires that His children speak the truth in all we say. Listen in to learn more about what God’s Word has to say about oaths and vows and walking in truth, looking to Jesus who is the way, the truth and the life!

It has been awhile since Micah has been on and so in this episode Micah and I continue working through some of the Catechism questions together and look at some Scriptures that provide the basis for the answers.
