The Second Oxford Company (part b): In this episode we continue our examination of the translators of The Gospels, Acts and the Book of Revelation, The Second Oxford Company. We meet the “most learned man in the day” as well as the only translator to be charged with homicide, an issue that created a great rift in ecclesiastical circles.

In Episode 14, we present our very first interview: a discussion concerning the Apocrypha with our very special guest, Dr Mike Spaulding.

This is is Part B on the First Oxford Company. In this episode we meet the rest of translators of the First Oxford Company whose job it was to translate from Isaiah to Malachi. We discuss a couple of mysteries with regard to a couple of scholars who may or may not have been on this panel. Were there 7 or 8? What were their names? We examine the evidence here. Following this, we take an ever so brief look at some of their work and we discuss some verses that have come over into American culture through the speech of a famous preacher.

In this episode we look at the rules given to the translators that they were to follow with regards to the new translation. We begin with a short bio of the man put in charge of drawing up the rules and then go through each one as approved by King James.

Gary Wayne, the author of the The Genesis 6 Conspiracy joins us to talk about his book. In a wide ranging interview some of the topics we cover are: Did the Nephilim survive the flood? What do the Freemasons believe? What is Gnosticism? Why is the Stuart Dynasty, which King James was a part of, important? Who are the Illuminati? And much much more.

In this episode, we go to Hampton Court Palace, where James has convened a conference so that the Puritans can air their grievances about the state of the church in England. But that is not all that happened. With his joky yet somewhat stinging approach to negotiations, James first takes the Anglican Church to task, but he has saved his best for the Puritans. The atmosphere was described as nasty, yet James, ever the wise king, has a plan. In the midst of the thrust and parry with the Puritans, a suggestion is made for a new translation. Who? Why? Is there more to this than is widely accepted? What does the Geneva Bible have to do with any of this? Find out in Episode 7.

GK and Cliff are joined by former guitarist for Black Oak Arkansas, Harvey Jett. Harvey was at the peak of his musical career, when God called him out of the band and led his life down a very different path than he at first seemed destined for.

In this episode entitled "The Trew Religion", we learn that James had strong views about his religion and he had strong views about the religion of others. In this episode we are going to hear from James just what the ‘trew religion’ is. We will also hear about his disdain for the religious views of two other sects who annoyed him greatly; one for more political reasons, the other for mostly religious reasons. We will also discover that James was a man of peace and unity, and it is surprising the steps he took to bring about religious and political peace. Finally we bring to a close our James specific episodes with a brief overview of the man.

In this episode we look at the 40 years following James’s coming of age. It includes his mother’s death, his marriage, his relationship with Catholics and the Berwick witch trials, where we see a very hard side of James the king, who will brook no opposition mind, but has his anger and murderous intent blunted by the Scottish Jury system.

In this episode, we continue to examine the life of King James with an emphasis on two areas. First we look generally at James’s relationship with the Catholics in Scotland and on the mainland. This examination will consider whether James was willing or otherwise to be involved in a plot to overthrow his cousin Lizzie 1 with the aid of the Spanish. Next we get into a right royal family squabble about the kids. How should the eldest son of James and Anne be raised?

GK of LikeFlint Radio speaks with Christian strongman, Jeff 'T-Rex' Bankens to discuss, among other things, Jeff's testimony and unique work.

In this episode we discuss how James, at 11 months of age, is crowned king. But before we get to that, James is baptised. Then, we discuss the circumstances of his father’s murder, and the fallout from that. Part of that was the care and control of the young prince, and his mothers fall from power and popularity. His mother, Mary Queen of Scots did not go quietly however. She was ultimately met on the battlefield, where the opposing forces ranged against her flew a banner depicting a young Prince James kneeling by his father’s body, praying to God for vengeance against his murderers.

James had a self-avowed fearful nature and I wanted to find out why this was. To do this, we have to dig deep into the life of his parents, and especially his mother, Mary, Queen of Scots. Mary was seen as a beacon of hope for Catholics on the continent and within Scotland itself. During her lifetime, the country was riven with competing religious and political groups, broadly divided between a pro-French/Spanish, pro-Catholic faction, and a pro-English, pro-Reformation faction. This would lead ultimately to her losing power and her life but before that happened she was to give birth to King James 6 of Scotland. Its a rollicking ride, so be sure to strap yourself in for this one.

Pastor Mukunda joins GK to discuss the recovery efforts in Nepal and to share some of his testimony about coming to Christ from Maoism & Hinduism.
